    17106-3 Parenting Styles and Their Influence on Prosocial Tendencies Among Generation Z: A Quantitative Regression Study

    Generation Z was born into a period of rapid technological development that has affected patterns of human interaction. This situation has shaped Generation Z through digital influences and evolving parenting styles, particularly the rise of helicopter parenting. Helicopter parenting fosters dependence on parental direction and may affect emotional independence, an important factor in prosocial development. Prosocial tendencies refer to behaviors intended to improve the well-being of others, either directly or indirectly, without expecting rewards or recognition. The development of prosocial behavior is influenced by environment such as parenting style. This study examined the influence of parenting styles on prosocial behavior in Generation Z. A regression quantitative method was used. The participants consisted of 133 members of Generation Z, age 18-25 years old, selected through accidental sampling in Jakarta. The instruments used were the Parenting Style Questionnaire to assess parenting styles, and the Prosocial Tendency Measure (PTM) to assess prosocial tendencies. A linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the effect of different parenting styles on prosocial tendencies. The results indicated that Authoritarian (R² = .265, p < .001), authoritative (R² = .281, p < .001), and permissive parenting (R² = .314, p < .001) each significantly predicted prosocial tendencies. All three parenting styles contributed positively, with permissive parenting explaining the largest variance. Furthermore, the finding that higher role of permissive parenting in predicting prosocial tendencies highlights the characteristics of Generation Z’s autonomy and freedom of expression may foster prosocial tendencies

    17107R1m-3 Excessive Smartphone Use Among Malaysian Adolescents: Exploring Outcomes and Strategies in a Digitally Connected World

    This qualitative research explores the outcomes of excessive smartphone use and the perceived strategies to mitigate its negative impact among Malaysian adolescents. Grounded in concerns over the increasing screen time among youth, this study aimed to understand adolescent’s lived experiences of smartphone overuse. Eight adolescents aged 15 to 16 who reported frequent smartphone use were recruited through purposive sampling and participated in face-to-face semi-structured interviews. Data were analysed using Braun and Clarke’s (2006) six-phase thematic analysis. Five key themes emerged: Smartphones as Emotional Regulators, Academic Disruption and Support, Self-Awareness and Regulation, Social Connectivity vs. Isolation, and Physical and Mental Health Effects. Participants reported both benefits and challenges in their daily use, ranging from emotional relief to disrupted sleep and concentration. Adolescents also identified several strategies to manage overuse, including limiting screen time, turning off notifications, and engaging in offline activities. These findings align with Miller’s (2021) Transportal Home model and underscore the complex role smartphones play in adolescent development. The study contributes to understanding youth perspectives and provides insight for educators, parents, and mental health professionals to design adolescent-informed interventions.     17110 The Effect of Mental Health Literacy on Self-diagnosis in Generation Z Tik-Tok Users

    Many individuals tend to seek answers to mental health issues independently due to the easy access to information through the internet and social media. Among Generation Z, various factors drive the tendency to self-diagnose, with social media—particularly TikTok—playing a prominent role. One key contributing factor is the lack of mental health literacy. Mental health literacy refers to the knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and the appropriate strategies to recognize, manage, and seek help for these problems. This study aims to examine the effect of mental health literacy on self-diagnosis among Generation Z individuals who use the TikTok application. A quantitative research method was conducted with non-probability sampling techniques. The sample was determined using accidental sampling, involving 126 participants. The instruments used in this study were the Mental Health Literacy Scale and the Self-Identification of Having a Mental Illness (SELF-I). The results indicated that mental health literacy does not have a significant effect on self-diagnosis among Generation Z TikTok users. This suggests that self-diagnosis within this demographic may be more strongly influenced by other factors, such as personal experiences, social environment, or the perception of such content as mere entertainment. Furthermore, analysis of the dimensions revealed that the knowledge component of mental health literacy is most closely related to self-diagnosis. These findings suggest that individuals should explore more comprehensive and accurate information about mental health before engaging in self-diagnosis.     JEWELLERY DESIGN INCORPORATING CULTURALLY MATERIALS

    Jewellery design incorporating cultural materials presents concepts and approaches to integrating cultural materials into contemporary jewellery design. It emphasises both the tangible and intangible values of materials, highlighting their significance as representations of identity, local wisdom, and ways of life within communities. Cultural materials are not merely physical resources, but carriers of narratives, history, and socio-cultural beliefs, which can be transformed into jewellery pieces rich in aesthetic and cultural meaning. The content of this article is derived from the author's compilation of data from related documents, books, and texts, along with an analysis of five research works conducted by the author on cultural materials and cultural jewellery design. The author has summarised and organised the findings as qualitative information for publication. The article is divided into three sections. First, understanding cultural materials: This section defines and explains the meaning of cultural materials, presents criteria for identifying materials as cultural, and explores the values of cultural materials. Second, challenges in incorporating cultural materials in jewellery design- this section discusses the criteria for selecting cultural materials for jewellery design, as well as the experimentation and testing of materials to enhance their suitability as jewellery components. Third, cultural materials and jewellery design- this final section presents ideas for contemporary jewellery design using cultural materials, highlighting their influence on the design process and evaluating the value and worth of jewellery crafted with cultural materials. This article will promote the design of contemporary and sustainable jewellery with distinctive identities. Ultimately, this article serves as a testament that jewellery design using cultural materials is both a creative and social process, capable of fostering a dialogue between the past and the present while promoting significant aesthetic, cultural, and environmental values

    บทคัดย่อ วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาการรับรู้และการปฏิบัติเพื่อป้องกันโควิด 19 ของครูผู้ดูแลเด็กในศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็ก และ 2) ทดสอบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการรับรู้กับการปฏิบัติ วิธีการศึกษา: การวิจัยเชิงความสัมพันธ์มีครูผู้ดูแลเด็ก 212 คนเป็นตัวอย่าง โดยสุ่มจากศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็ก 118 แห่งใน จ.ปทุมธานี ในช่วงกันยายน 2565 – มิถุนายน 2566 โดยตอบแบบสอบถามการรับรู้และการปฏิบัติเพื่อป้องกันโรคโควิด-19 แสดงระดับการรรับรู้และการปฏิบัติ และทดสอบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการรับรู้และการปฏิบัติด้วยค่าสถิติสหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สัน ผลการศึกษา:  คะแนนเฉลี่ยการรับรู้ความรุนแรงและความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดโรคที่ระดับมาก การรับรู้ประโยชน์และอุปสรรคต่อการป้องกันโรคระดับปานกลาง คะแนนเฉลี่ยการปฏิบัติเพื่อป้องกันโรคระดับปานกลาง พบความสัมพันธ์ที่มีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ คือ การรับรู้ความรุนแรงของโรคสัมพันธ์กับการดูแลเด็กและสุขอนามัยส่วนบุคคลของครู (r = 0.218 และ 0.184 ตามลำดับ, P-value < 0.01 ทั้งคู่) การรับรู้โอกาสเสี่ยงสัมพันธ์กับการดูแลเด็ก การจัดอาหาร การสื่อสารกับผู้ปกครอง สุขอนามัยส่วนบุคคลและสิ่งแวดล้อมของครู (r = 0.183, 0.331, 0.185, 0.265 และ 0.245 ตามลำดับ (P-value < 0.05 ทั้งหมด) สรุป: ควรส่งเสริมการปฏิบัติเพื่อป้องกันโควิด 19 ของครูผู้ดูแลเด็กในศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็กซึ่งอาจทำได้โดยเพิ่มการรับรู้ด้านประโยชน์และอุปสรรคต่อการป้องกันโรค คำสำคัญ: การรับรู้และการปฏิบัติ; ครูผู้ดูแลเด็ก; ศูนย์พัฒนาเด็กเล็ก; โควิด 19 Abstract Objective: To determine the levels of perceptions and practices of childcare teachers in preventing COVID-19 in young children development centers and the correlations between the perceptions and practices. Methods: This correlational study recruited 212 child-care teachers as participants from 118 young children development centers in Pathumthani province, Thailand, to complete the questionnaires of the teacher perception and preventive practices in the COVID-19 prevention. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was computed to determine correlations between the perception and practice. Results: The average perception scores on the severity and risks of contracting the disease were at a high level, awareness of the benefits and barriers in preventing the disease was at a moderate level and the average disease-prevention score was at a moderate level. Correlations with significance were perceptions of the severity of the disease and the care being provided to the children and the personal hygiene of the teachers (r = 0.218 and 0.184, respectively, P-value < 0.01 for both), risk awareness and the care being provided to the children, food preparation, communication with parents and the personal hygiene and environment of the teachers with a statistically significant relationship of 0.05. (r = 0.183, 0.331, 0.185, 0.265 and 0.245, respectively, P-value < 0.05 for all). Conclusion: The practice to prevent COVID-19 among childcare teachers in young children development centers could promoted in part through enhancing the perceptions of the benefits and barriers in disease prevention.     การศึกษาวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ สำรวจความคิดเห็นของประชาชนที่มีต่อการตัดสินใจเลือกนายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดบึงกาฬ พ.ศ.2563 เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ทำการเก็บรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่ายกับประชาชนที่มีภูมิลำเนาในเขตจังหวัดบึงกาฬ ที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 18 ปีขึ้นไป จำนวน 9,872 คน สิถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ค่าความถี่และค่าร้อยละ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศหญิง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 52.15 เพศชาย คิดเป็นร้อยละ 47.85 อยู่ในช่วงระหว่างอายุ 30-40 ปี คิดเป็นร้อยละ 33.86 รองลงมา อายุระหว่าง 41-59 ปี คิดเป็นร้อยละ 25.50 และอายุ 18-29 ปี คิดเป็นร้อยละ 25.00 ตามลำดับ จำแนกตามอาชีพ พบว่า ส่วนใหญ่ประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม คิดเป็นร้อยละ 27.35 อาชีพรับจ้าง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 20.57 อาชีพค้าขาย 16.70 ส่วนความคิดเห็นของประชาชนต่อการตัดสินใจเลือกนายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดบึงกาฬ พบว่า (1) ท่านจะไปใช้สิทธิ์ในการเลือกตั้งครั้งนี้หรือไม่ ส่วนใหญ่ ร้อยละ 89.11 ระบุว่าจะไปใช้สิทธิ์ลงคะแนนเสียงเลือกตั้ง ขณะที่ ร้อยละ 1.78 ระบุว่า จะไม่ไปใช้สิทธิ์ลงคะแนนเสียงเลือกตั้ง (2) ท่านชื่นชอบผู้สมัครนายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัด หมายเลขใด พบว่า ส่วนใหญ่ร้อยละ 26.13 เลือกผู้สมัครหมายเลข 3 รองลงมา ร้อยละ 24.20 เลือกผู้สมัครหมายเลข 2 ร้อยละ 22.54 เลือกผู้สมัครหมายเลข 4 และ   (3) เหตุผลที่ตัดสินใจเลือกนายกองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดบึงกาฬ พบว่า ร้อยละ 36.35 ระบุว่า พิจารณาจาก “การเป็นคนดี มีความรู้ ความสามารถ” รองลงมา ร้อยละ 23.91 ระบุว่า “พิจารณาจากนโยบายที่ดี ชัดเจน และเป็นไปได้” (The objective of this study is to examine public opinion regarding the 2020 election of the Chief Executive of the Bueng Kan Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO). This quantitative research employed a questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. A simple random sampling technique was used to select 9,872 respondents who were residents of Bueng Kan Province and aged 18 years or older. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents were female (52.15%), while males accounted for 47.85%. The most represented age group was 30–40 years (33.86%), followed by 41–59 years (25.50%) and 18–29 years (25.00%). Regarding occupation, most respondents worked in agriculture (27.35%), followed by laborers (20.57%) and traders (16.70%). Concerning public opinion on the selection of the PAO Chief Executive, the results show that: (1) most respondents (89.11%) intended to exercise their voting rights in the upcoming election, while only 1.78% stated that they would not vote; (2) in terms of candidate preference, 26.13% favored candidate number 3, followed by candidate number 2 (24.20%) and candidate number 4 (22.54%); and (3) the most cited reason for selecting a candidate was “being a good person with knowledge and competence” (36.35%), followed by “clear, good, and feasible policies” (23.91%).

    Age-Related Changes in The Penetration of Calcium Silicate-Based Sealer into Dentinal Tubules: A Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy Evaluation

     Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare dentinal penetration of calcium silicatebased sealers according to different ages of a tooth. Materials and Methods: A total of 32 extracted human single-rooted teeth were decoronated to standardize with a root length of 12 mm. A root canal was prepared using Protaper Next rotary nickel-titanium system and obturation was done by single cone technique. The teeth were randomly divided into four groups (n = 8); based on the Tooth age and types of sealer, used as follows: (1) Tooth age <25 years/AH plus (2) Tooth age <25 years/iRoot SP (3) Tooth age >40 years/AH plus and (4) Tooth age >40 years/iRoot SP. The sealers were labelled with fluorescent dye. Transverse sections at 2, 5 and 8 mm from the apex were analyzed through CLSM. The mean of the maximum sealer penetration depth and circumferential sealer penetration depth were evaluated by the ImageJ software. The data was analyzed with Two-way ANOVA and Tukey’s HSD test with a 95% confidence level. Results: The Tooth age <25 years/iRoot SP had a mean of the maximum sealer penetration depth which was significantly higher than the age of the tooth >40 years/iRoot SP at middle and apical third while Tooth age <25 years/AH plus was significantly higher than Tooth age >40 years/AH plus at all root levels (p < 0.05). Tooth age <25 years with iRoot SP or AH plus also had circumferential sealer penetration depth significantly higher than the Tooth age >40 years with iRoot SP or AH plus at all root levels (p < 0.05). Additionally, Tooth age <25 years/iRoot SP showed significantly higher circumferential sealer penetration depth than the Tooth age <25 years/AH plus at apical level (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Tooth age and types of sealer affected the mean of the maximum sealer penetration depth and circumferential sealer penetration depth, especially in apical part of root

    A STUDY ON THE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF ACCOUNTING MAJOR COURSES BASED ON MARKET DEMAND FOR STUDENTS' ABILITIES - TAKING JI'AN COLLEGE AS AN EXAMPLE

            Abstract This study examines the management of accounting courses at Ji’an College, focusing on aligning curriculum with market demands and enhancing students' abilities. The research aims to (1) study the problems existing in accounting courses and (2) design an accounting model to cultivate accounting graduates who meet market needs. The study surveyed employers of 2018-2020 accounting graduates from Ji’an College and included insights from five experts. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 180 enterprises, all of which were returned, and semi-structured interviews. The questionnaire assessed students' professional knowledge, skills, and qualities, using mean values, frequencies, percentages, and standard deviations for analysis. Findings reveal that students' abilities are moderate but insufficient for market requirements. Key issues include: (1) curriculum content misaligned with market needs; (2) a gap between students' professional abilities and market demands; (3) ineffective professional values courses; (4) limited training bases; and (5) insufficient professional qualities hindering career sustainability. Expert interviews provided insights for optimizing the curriculum. The study concludes that addressing these issues through improvements in training objectives, content, teaching methods, implementation quality, and evaluation systems can enhance students' abilities and better align their skills with market demands. This approach aims to cultivate accounting graduates who are well-prepared for the workforce and capable of meeting evolving industry requirements.   Keywords : Higher vocational education, Market demand, Student ability, Accounting major, Curriculum management
