The basic principle of marketing efficiency is to solve the problem of how to shorten the marketing chain and reduce marketing costs. Farmers are often in the most disadvantageous position, in various positions in the marketing chain. Very long marketing chains are often found in the marketing chain of agricultural and fishery commodities. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of marketing efficiency in various marketing channels for vaname shrimp in Surabaya City. This research was conducted in Surabaya City, East Java. The population in this study were the actors involved in the vaname shrimp marketing supply chain, sampling in this study used the Slovin method, snowball sampling, and complete census, the number of shrimp farmer respondents was 105 people, then 24 collectors, and 30 retailers. The data collection method was based on interviews with prepared questionnaires. The analysis used was marketing margin, farmer\u27s share, profit ratio, and marketing efficiency. The results showed that there were 3 vaname shrimp marketing channels, namely channel I (farmers-end consumers), channel II (farmers-retailers-end consumers), and channel III (farmers-retailers-end consumers). Based on the results of the analysis, the most efficient marketing channel is channel I, and the largest profit ratio is obtained by retailers on channel II

Study of Accumulation of Heavy Metals Cu and Cr in Traditional Milkfish (Chanos chanos) Ponds in Sidoarjo.

Milkfish (Chanos chanos) is a key brackish water aquaculture commodity in Indonesia. Traditional milkfish farming systems in East Java are still widely practiced, relying on tidal flows and nearby river water as the primary pond water source. This traditional approach has inherent weaknesses in maintaining water quality, making the ponds susceptible to pollution from domestic, industrial waste, and activities around the pond such as ship traffic. One of the major environmental concerns is the presence of heavy metals, such as copper (Cu) and chromium (Cr), which can accumulate in sediments and milkfish flesh through the process of bioaccumulation. This study aimed to determine the concentrations of heavy metals copper (Cu) and chromium (Cr) in pond water, sediment, and milkfish (Chanos chanos) flesh, and to assess the contamination levels using the Geo-accumulation Index (Igeo), Contamination Factor (CF), and Bioaccumulation Factor (BCF). Samples were collected from three traditional milkfish ponds in Kalanganyar Village, Sidoarjo, with an additional sample from a river estuary serving as the water source for the ponds. Water quality parameters were also measured during two different times of the day (night and noon) to capture daily variation in aquaculture conditions..The analysis showed that both Cu and Cr were undetectable in the pond and estuarine water samples, suggesting minimal contamination in the dissolved phase. Cu was detected in fish flesh at concentrations ranging from 0.243 to 0.406 mg/kg, which remain below the threshold established by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 7387: 2009) regarding the maximum limits of heavy metal contamination in food. Cr was undetectable in all fish samples. The concentrations of Cu and Cr in sediments varied slightly among the ponds, but Igeo and CF values indicated a classification of "unpolluted" to "slightly polluted". BCF values revealed a low tendency of Cu bioaccumulation from sediment to fish flesh. Additionally, the water quality parameters such as dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, temperature, salinity, and transparency remained within acceptable ranges, supporting the sustainability of traditional milkfish aquaculture in the area

Indonesia has a decentralised government, meaning that regions have authority from the central government. In addition to regional autonomy, certain legal community units possess the authority to autonomously control and oversee government affairs, namely villages. Village autonomy is a state of absolute and unlimited self-government, which is not granted by the government but is expected by the government to be recognised and upheld. The village head has supported from village officials for organises the village government. The village head has the authority to recommend to the regent or mayor the appointment and removal of village officials, who, in the previous arrangement, was authorised to appoint and dismiss village officials. Resistance from dismissed village officials is one of the problems that arise, which sometimes leads to legal remedies such as filing a lawsuit against the PTUN. Allegations of unlawful acts are sometimes filed with the District Court. How do disputes related to unlawful acts by the village head occur in relation to the implementation of PTUN decisions? Normative research methodology is used in this research with conceptual, statutory and case approaches to Decision No. 45/Pdt.G/2022/PN Sbw. The findings demonstrated that the Defendant\u27s actions as the village head who did not revoke the decision letter on the dismissal of village officials were not based on legality, procedure, and substance of government actions. The actions of the Defendant as the village head who did not revoke the decree on the dismissal of village officials constituted onrechtmatige daad and not onrechtmatige overheidsdaad

Indonesia, as an archipelagic country, possesses immense potential in both capture and aquaculture fisheries. Among freshwater aquaculture commodities, Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is favored due to its fast growth, palatable taste, and ease of cultivation. However, conventional tilapia farming faces challenges such as limited land availability, excessive water usage, organic waste pollution, and high feed costs. Biofloc technology offers an innovative solution by utilizing microbial consortia to convert organic waste into edible flocs, thereby reducing feed consumption, improving water quality, and increasing sustainability. This community service initiative, conducted by the Karawang Marine and Fisheries Polytechnic, aimed to enhance fish farmers’ capacity—specifically among students at the Mumbar Huffazh Islamic boarding school—by introducing biofloc aquaculture practices. The program included training on the technical and practical aspects of the biofloc system and its application in small to medium-scale operations, particularly in land-limited rural or urban settings. Implemented on February 26, 2024, with follow-up support and evaluation, the program sought to (1) increase knowledge and skills related to efficient, eco-friendly tilapia farming; (2) foster commitment to water quality monitoring; and (3) promote sustainable aquaculture that aligns with the national Free Nutritious Food (MBG) program. The anticipated outcomes include reduced feed usage by up to 50%, shorter production cycles, enhanced fish availability, and improved livelihoods. The initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to the "Tri Dharma" of higher education through community empowerment, contributing to equitable development and protein food security
