Islamic Pawnbroking in Scholarly Discourse: Trends, Gaps, and Future Directions
No full textThe development of Islamic pawnbroking (Ar-Rahnu) as a short-term financing mechanism presents a promising solution for poverty alleviation by supporting small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. This study aims to visualize the progress and research trends in Islamic pawnbroking using bibliometric analysis. Data were collected from the Scopus database, where an initial search conducted on September 16, 2022, retrieved 168 documents, later refined to 101 articles based on inclusion criteria. The dataset was analyzed using VOSviewer to generate visualizations of keyword co-occurrence, author collaboration, citation patterns, and thematic clusters. Findings show a steady increase in scholarly output from 1913 to 2022, with significant growth post-2010. However, the field faces persistent challenges such as low public awareness, preference for conventional pawnshops, and unregulated financial practices. The study suggests strategic improvements for Islamic pawnbroking, including product diversification, targeted marketing, and public re-education to broaden its appeal beyond low-income users. The bibliometric mapping also identifies potential research directions, particularly in microenterprise financing and socio-economic empowerment through Islamic financial services.======================================================================================================== ABSTRAK - Pegadaian Syariah dalam Wacana Akademik: Tren, Kesenjangan, dan Arah Penelitian ke Depan. Perkembangan pegadaian syariah (Ar-Rahnu) sebagai mekanisme pembiayaan jangka pendek merupakan solusi yang menjanjikan untuk mengatasi kemiskinan melalui dukungan kepada pengusaha kecil dan menengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memvisualisasikan kemajuan dan tren penelitian dalam bidang pegadaian syariah dengan menggunakan analisis bibliometrik. Data dikumpulkan dari basis data Scopus, di mana pencarian awal pada tanggal 16 September 2022 menemukan 168 dokumen, yang kemudian disaring menjadi 101 artikel berdasarkan kriteria inklusi. Dataset dianalisis menggunakan VOSviewer untuk menghasilkan visualisasi keterkaitan kata kunci, kolaborasi penulis, pola kutipan, dan klaster tematik. Temuan menunjukkan peningkatan stabil dalam publikasi ilmiah dari tahun 1913 hingga 2022, dengan lonjakan signifikan pasca-2010. Namun, bidang ini masih menghadapi tantangan seperti rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat, preferensi terhadap pegadaian konvensional, dan praktik keuangan yang tidak teregulasi. Studi ini menyarankan peningkatan strategis dalam pegadaian syariah, termasuk diversifikasi produk, pemasaran yang ditargetkan, dan edukasi publik untuk memperluas daya tariknya di luar kelompok berpenghasilan rendah. Pemetaan bibliometrik juga mengidentifikasi arah penelitian potensial, khususnya dalam pembiayaan usaha mikro dan pemberdayaan sosial ekonomi melalui layanan keuangan Islam.
ANALISIS FILM ANIMASI JUMBO DALAM PENANAMAN NILAI KARAKTER PADA ANAK USIA DINI
No full textThe Indonesian animated film Jumbo, released after Eid al-Fitr 2025, is worth examining not only for its popularity as a family movie but also for its emphasis on character values. This study uses a literature review approach for data collection and applies narrative synthesis based on Popay et al. (2006) to analyze the film’s content and meaning. The findings reveal that film is an effective medium for instilling character values in early childhood. Jumbo conveys messages of friendship, perseverance, good listening, creativity, and gratitude through a storyline that resonates with children’s everyday experiences. These values support children’s understanding of right and wrong (Kohlberg, 1984), while also fostering the development of moral reasoning and behavior aligned with social norms.Film animasi Jumbo karya anak bangsa tidak hanya populer sebagai hiburan keluarga, tetapi juga mengangkat pesan moral yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kontribusi film tersebut dalam penanaman nilai karakter pada anak usia dini. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan sintesis naratif dan teknik pengolahan data non-statistik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Jumbo mampu menyampaikan nilai-nilai seperti persahabatan, ketekunan, empati, kreativitas, dan rasa syukur melalui alur cerita yang sesuai dengan dunia anak. Nilai-nilai ini memperkuat pemahaman anak tentang konsep benar dan salah, serta mendorong perkembangan penalaran moral sejak dini. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa film animasi dapat menjadi media yang efektif dalam pendidikan karakter anak
PENGARUH MEDIA BUSY BOOK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH ANAK USIA DINI
No full textKemampuan pemecahan masalah anak sangat penting pada perkembangannya, yang mana nantinya mereka akan menghadapi masalah yang harus diselesaikan dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang mereka miliki. Penelitian ini memakai metode pendekatan kuantitatif eksperimen pre-test dan postest. Penelitian ini menyajikan data dalam bentuk angka dengan menggunakan analisis data statistik yang mempunyai tujuan untuk menguji hipotesis, analisis data menggunakan uji analisis paired sample t-test. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keseluruhan perkembangan kognitif anak sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan adalah 9.2 menjadi 21.1. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan, media busy book sangat berpengaruh pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak. The ability to solve problems in children is very important for their development, as they will eventually face problems that need to be solved using their problemsolving skills. This research aims to determine the effect of busy book media on the problem-solving abilities of early childhood. THis study employs a pre-test and postest experimental quantitative approach. The research presents data in numerical form using statistical data analysis aimed at testing hypotheses, with data analysis using paired sample t-test analysis. The results of the study show that the study show that the overall cognitive development of children before and after treatment increased from 9.2 to 21.1 it can be concluded that busy book media has a significant impact on children’s problem-solving abilities
Design and Build Seawater Temperature and pH Measuring Equipment Microcontroller-Based
No full textThe quality of water in a body of water has a very important role in supporting the survival and sustainability of the organisms that live in it. One of the important indicators of seawater quality is the physical and chemical parameters, including seawater temperature and pH. Temperature is a measure of the energy of molecular movement that plays a crucial role in regulating biological processes and the distribution of organisms. Meanwhile, variations in pH values can cause changes and imbalances in CO₂ levels that may endanger marine ecosystems. The purpose of this research is to design and develop a microcontroller-based seawater temperature and pH measuring device using a DS18B20 temperature sensor and a 4502C pH sensor. The results show that the device can detect water quality parameters in real time with an average accuracy of 99% when compared to standard measuring instruments. This research concludes that the designed device is effective, reliable, and easy to use for monitoring seawater quality. The implication of this study is that it can provide a low-cost and practical solution for environmental monitoring, support sustainable marine resource management, and be further developed into an integrated system for wider applications

No full textA persistent mismatch between vocational education outcomes and industry requirements presents a global challenge, often stemming from limited student exposure to modern industrial technologies. This study addresses the gap by designing, developing, and validating a cost-effective Variable Speed Drive (VSD) trainer as a practical and pedagogically appropriate learning medium. The research employed the waterfall development model, encompassing a structured process of needs analysis, system design, hardware implementation, and comprehensive evaluation to ensure the trainer’s feasibility and instructional effectiveness. The evaluation phase included expert validation and practicality testing with end-users. Validation results showed the VSD trainer and accompanying job sheet were rated “Highly Suitable,” with average scores of 3.67 from media experts and 3.63 from subject matter experts on a four-point Likert scale. Practicality scores were 3.61 from teachers and 3.38 from students, indicating strong usability and instructional relevance in real classroom settings. The findings suggest that the VSD trainer is a validated, scalable, and effective instructional solution that improves students’ conceptual understanding, practical skills, and motivation. These outcomes align vocational training more closely with industry demands. Further development integrating IoT-based remote monitoring is recommended to enhance the trainer’s functionality and relevance in digitally supported learning environments
Pelestarian dan Integrasi Nilai-nilai Lokal dalam Tradisi Pendidikan Islam Aceh di Era Modernisasi: Dayah sebagai Warisan Budaya
No full textThis research examines the dynamics and preservation of Islamic educational traditions in the dayah of Aceh in the context of modernization that brings various challenges of social, technological, and formal education system changes. With a qualitative approach, this study examines the adaptation of dayah to maintain local values and intellectual traditions without eliminating the cultural roots and Islamic identity of the Acehnese people. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation in several integrated dayah in Aceh. The results of the study show that the modernization of dayah takes place in the aspects of institutions, curriculum, learning methods, and improving the competence of scholars and students, so that dayah continues to function as an educational center as well as a cultural and intellectual preservation. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating local values with modern innovations so that dayah education is relevant to the times and can maintain Aceh's cultural identity. These findings provide policy and practice recommendations education that is able to bridge tradition and modernization in Aceh
The Representation of Muslim Women on Digital Platforms: Contestation and Fragmented Reception on Instagram’s QuranReview Account
No full textThe representation of women in digital spaces has become a critical area of inquiry, as social media now serves not only as a medium for religious dissemination but also as a contested arena for discourse that shapes the social construction of Muslim communities. While previous studies have examined Qur’anic interpretations of women within academic and mainstream media contexts, limited attention has been paid to how these interpretations are constructed and publicly received on digital platforms—particularly Instagram, with its distinctive visual and interactive features. This study aims to analyze how the Instagram account @QuranReview represents Qur’anic interpretations related to women and to identify the patterns of public reception toward such content. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach and guided by reception theory, data were collected over a three-month period through the content analysis of 21 women-focused posts and 228 user comments, supplemented by non-participant observation. Thematic analysis using systematic coding procedures revealed a key finding: there has been a shift in interpretive authority from traditional scholars to digital figures who function as religious influencers in online spaces. This shift is accompanied by three dominant patterns of reception: progressive-affirmative, conservative-resistant, and critical-reflective. These findings underscore the urgency of re-evaluating the legitimacy of religious interpretation in the digital age and call for further studies that explore platform diversity and algorithmic influences in shaping public religious discourse
Integrating Thematic Tafsir of Qur’an Surah Al-‘Alaq with Local Wisdom-Based Learning Media: An Islamic Education Model for Generation Z in West Sumatra
No full textEfforts to develop Islamic learning media that integrate Qur’anic values with local wisdom remain limited, even though Generation Z-as digital natives, and the main users of digital tool- still requires approaches that are relevant to both culturally grounded and religiously relevant. This study examines the philosophy of Adat Basandi Syarak, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah (ABS-SBK) as a framework for aligning local wisdom with Qur’anic values, particularly through the utilization of Qur’anic verses in character building. The research seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning media, identify the implementation challenges, propose an integration model of the tafseer of Quran surah Al-‘Alaq with ABS-SBK, and analyze its implications for Islamic learning among Generation Z. A qualitative case study was conducted using an in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that integrating the tafsir of QS. Al-‘Alaq with the ABS-SBK philosophy fosters student engagement, supports contextualized learning, and reinforces the Minangkabau Islamic cultural identity. Challenges include infrastructure limitations, educators’ technological skills, and content validation processes. The proposed model combines thematic tafsir with ABS-SBK-based multimedia content, enhanced through gamification and digital storytelling. This study highlights the importance of collaboration among scholars, educators, and technology developers in designing innovative and value-based Islamic learning media for Generation Z

No full textThe use of slang is a common phenomenon that occurs on campus. According to the perspective of Islamic communication, the use of slang must be in accordance with the principles of Islamic communication, namely qaulan sadida, qaulan baligha, qaulan maysura, qaulan layyina, qaulan karima, and qaulan Ma'rufa. This research aims to analyze the form of slang communication of Generation Z students of the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication of UIN Sumatra Utara in the perspective of Islamic Communication. This research uses a qualitative method with a symbolic interaction approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results showed that there are many forms of slang communication of Generation Z students in the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication of UIN Sumatra Utara and not all of them have negative connotations. Students use slang as a means of self-expression and social interaction, especially in informal situations, in formal communication, they prefer to use formal language. From the perspective of Islamic communication, slang can be incompatible with the principles of Islamic communication if used in the wrong context and place. Slang can also be utilized as a da'wah communication strategy that is more inclusive and easily accepted by Generation Z

No full textThis research aims to measure the community satisfaction index regarding the performance of corporate communication at PT Mifa Bersaudara in West Aceh. Corporate communication is very important to be planned and executed with a strong concept so that the company's work has a strong impact on the surrounding community. The satisfaction index measurement is conducted quantitatively by distributing questionnaires to the surrounding community. Quantitative data were explored through in-depth interviews with key company stakeholders. The study results show that the community is very satisfied with the company's communication performance. This satisfaction is reinforced by the interview results, where community leaders can communicate directly with company employees, especially in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Likewise, the field officers, the company places one facilitator in each village in the company's first ring to accompany the company's CSR programs at the village community level. On the other hand, it is also important for the company to build a strong work team in the field of corporate communication, especially during a crisis
