ANALYSIS OF PRUDENTIAL PRINCIPLES IN FINANCING FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT FOR MICRO ENTREPRENEURS: Entrepreneurs at BPRS Taman Indah Darussalam

    No full text
This study examines the implementation of prudential principles in the financing feasibility assessment for MSMEs at BPRS Taman Indah Darussalam. The research is based on the increasing trend of Non Performing Financing (NPF), which rose from 0,06% in 2021 to 1,11% in 2024. Although this figure remains below the threshold set by OJK (5%), it reflects a growing risk that deserves critical attention. This study adopts a normative empirical approach using descriptive qualitative methods, combining primary data from in depth interviews and field observations with secondary data from internal documentation and legal literature. The finding reveal that BPRS Taman Indah Darussalam applies the 5C framework (Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, Condition of Economy) as the foundation for assessing financing feasibility. The implementation of prudential principles is supported by a layered organizational structure involving the Risk Management Unit, Financing Committee, and a four eyes principle system. However, field implementation still ecnounters challenges such as the lack of an early warning system, reliance on manual assessment, and difficulties in evaluating MSMEs lacking formal financing records. The study concludes that while the 5C framework serves as a robust structure for risk assessment, its effectiveness needs to be enhanced through the intergration of analytical technology, strengthening of real time monitoring systems, and development of assessment models that are more adaptive to the dynamic nature of the MSMEs segment

Challenging norms, protecting forests: The agency and negotiation strategies of women rangers in Aceh, Indonesia

    No full text
This research analyzes the strategic agency of Mpu Uteun, a women-led conservation group in Aceh, Indonesia, that emerged in response to severe environmental degradation within a patriarchal social context. Grounded in the theoretical framework of women's agency and empowerment, this research examines the negotiation mechanisms that these female forest guardians employ across multiple spheres—domestic, communal, economic, and state—to legitimize their roles in environmental governance as they navigate socio-cultural barriers. Conducted within a qualitative design, this research employed secondary data examined through thematic narrative analysis. The findings revealed that the agency of Mpu Uteun is rooted in a collective experience of ecological disaster, which motivates proactive conservation measures such as forest patrols, reforestation, and disaster mitigation. The group's success hinges on sophisticated negotiation strategies: they renegotiated domestic roles to accommodate public activism, navigate communal resistance through inclusive tactics and non-confrontational approaches toward illegal loggers, and, crucially, secure formal legitimacy from the state by obtaining a customary forest management permit. This research concludes that Mpu Uteun exemplifies an effective model of community-based conservation while fundamentally transforming the gendered landscape of natural resource governance. Thus, this research advances understanding of women’s environmental agency, demonstrating how strategic negotiation dismantles patriarchal barriers and informs inclusive conservation policy

    No full text
Early childhood educators, especially in faith-based institutions, need to have a deep understanding of children's spirituality in order to design and respond to spiritual experiences that arise spontaneously. This study aimed to explore the personal insights and experiences of educators regarding spirituality, as well as their understanding and approaches in fostering spirituality among young children. A qualitative research design was employed, guided by three key questions. The sample included nine educators from a faith-based early childhood program in Kudus, Central Java, specifically involved with 3 and 4-year-olds in class A, which consisted of three classes. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings indicated that the personal insights and experiences of educators play a pivotal role in boosting children's spirituality. Consequently, there are significant opportunities to support educators in their own development and to provide relevant information regarding children's spirituality. Based on the findings, it is suggested that to effectively nurture children's spirituality, educators should cultivate their own sense of personal spirituality, which entails having experienced spiritual events in their own lives essentially spiritual formation. Additionally, educators must possess the knowledge and skills to reflect on their spirituality and effectively integrate these experiences with their early childhood teaching methodologies in order to create meaningful spiritual opportunities for children. The study recommends enhancing the competencies of educators in promoting the spirituality of young children. This research contributes valuable insights into the understanding of spirituality within religious-affiliated early childhood education settings

    No full text
The high prevalence of child marriage in Indonesia has become a pressing issue, not only at the national but also at the global level. Preventive efforts require a collaborative and multi-faceted approach that goes beyond legal regulations and incorporates social, psychological, spiritual dimensions, as well as marriage guidance. This article aims to explore a collaborative psychosocial-spiritual governance model that integrates marriage guidance in the prevention of child marriage in Indonesia. This research was conducted using an exploratory qualitative approach in Jombok Village, Trenggalek, East Java, and Woro Village, Rembang, Central Java. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with various stakeholders including government officials, religious leaders, local psychologists and cultural figures, local activists, NGOs, as well as couples/families experiencing child marriage. The research results indicate that social innovation for preventing child marriage is implemented through the principles of collaborative governance based on a psychosocial-spiritual approach, with multi-level involvement from villages, sub-districts, to districts. Education, mentoring, and marriage counseling programs are carried out in stages, encompassing social assistance based on child protection, psychological support, and strengthening religious values. This approach demonstrates that effective prevention strategies are not only focused on formal regulations but also on value transformation, community capacity building, and creating an ecosystem that supports children's rights. The overall efforts aim at preventing child marriage in a more holistic, inclusive, gender-just manner, and contextualized with the local values of Indonesian society

    No full text
This study discusses the transformation of ijtihad of Indonesian scholars in the formulation of the Compilation of Sharia Economic Law (KHES) using the maslahah perspective as the basis of analysis. KHES is the result of the codification of Islamic economic law in Indonesia that seeks to address the dynamics of the modern economy through a contextual approach to classical Islamic legal sources. Indonesian scholars have an important role in the ijtihad process by adapting sharia values to align with the social, cultural, and economic realities of Indonesian society. Through the maslahah mursalah approach, the transformation of ijtihad not only maintains the principles of justice and maslahah, but also reflects the flexibility of Islamic law in responding to developments in the era. This study found that KHES is the result of synergy between classical fiqh texts and the needs of contemporary economic practice, where maslahah becomes the main instrument to maintain the relevance and acceptability of Islamic law in the national economic realm. Thus, KHES reflects a concrete form of moderate, contextual, and oriented Nusantara Islam to the welfare of the people in the economic field

Practice of Pre-Death Property Distribution among Muslim Communities in Cirebon from the Perspective of Islamic Law and Legal System

    No full text
In Islam, the division of wealth refers to the process of transferring ownership of assets from the owner to specific recipients, either with specific portions or without division. Although wealth distribution typically occurs after the death of the owner, there are practices where distribution takes place before death. This research aims to analyze the patterns of pre-death wealth distribution within community families in Cirebon, as well as the perspectives of heirs on such practices and their implications on property ownership laws according to Islamic principles and other legal systems. The research methodology employed is qualitative, using a case study approach to explore pre-death wealth distribution practices among community families in Cirebon. The legal system framework theorized by Lawrence Friedman, including legal structure, legal substance, and legal culture, serves as the approach and perspective in this study. The research findings indicate that the legal structure within these families involves the owner distributing wealth to heirs according to local traditions. The legal substance involved in this distribution is inheritance division, although from an Islamic law perspective, such distribution may be considered as gifts or bequests. The legal culture of pre-death wealth distribution is influenced by various factors, including efforts to prevent conflicts among heirs after the death of their parents. Despite being categorized as gifts or bequests in Islamic law, this system of wealth distribution is seen as a solution to avoid disputes in wealth distribution among Muslim communities in Cirebon

The Transformation of Gala and Mawah: Towards the Sharia Gala Bank Microfinance Model in Aceh

    No full text
The Acehnese society has long practiced customary economic arrangements such as gala (pawning) and mawah (profit-sharing). However, the traditional gala practices are frequently exploitative and inconsistent with the Sharia principles, as lenders exercise full control over collateralized productive assets. In addition, the potential of mawah as a cooperative economic mechanism has not been fully realized. This qualitative study examines the transformation of these customary practices into sustainable Sharia-based microfinance institutions through a case study of their implementation in Southwest Aceh. Data were collected through observations and in-depth interviews. The findings indicate that KSPPS Baitul Qiradh Gala Muamalah, commonly known as the “Gala Bank,” has initiated a revitalization of local economic wisdom grounded in Sharia principles. A fundamental transformation is evident in the gala practice through the application of a rahn (Sharia pawn) contract, whereby the institution holds only the collateral, while productive assets, such as rice fields, remain under the management of their owners. This arrangement enables farmers to continue agricultural production and generate income. For working capital financing, the institution employs a mudharabah (profit-sharing) contract with a flexible post-harvest repayment system. The “Gala Bank” model has successfully transformed previously harmful practices into equitable, farmer-empowering, and Sharia-compliant transactions. Consequently, this initiative demonstrates how traditional economic practices can be effectively adapted into a modern, sustainable economic framework rooted in local culture, serving as a model for community-based economic development
