    Education as a Strategic Instrument of Arabization and Islamization in the Umayyad Caliphate (661–750 CE)

    This article analyzes the role of education as an instrument in the processes of Arabization and Islamization during the Umayyad caliphate (661–750 CE). Existing scholarship on the Umayyads often prioritizes political expansion and administration, while educational practices are frequently described without sufficient attention to how they operationalized language policy and religious consolidation. Using a qualitative historical-analytical literature approach, this study draws on classical historiographical sources and relevant contemporary works to examine the interaction between Umayyad reforms—especially the Arabization policy associated with ʿAbd al-Malik b. Marwān—and educational institutions such as the kuttāb, mosques, and ḥalaqāt. The analysis indicates that education facilitated Arabization by institutionalizing Arabic literacy and scholarly competence, which supported administrative integration and made Arabic the shared medium of worship, governance, and knowledge. At the same time, the same institutions advanced Islamization through the transmission of the Qur’an, ḥadīth, and basic fiqh, alongside moral formation through taʿlīm, tarbiyah, and taʾdīb. These intertwined processes contributed to early intellectual infrastructures, including the development of Arabic linguistic disciplines to safeguard Qur’anic recitation and a gradual shift toward written codification in religious learning. The article argues that education functioned as a strategic channel through which Arabization and Islamization were internalized as durable social practice in the making of early Islamic civilization

    The integration of technology in Islamic education is crucial for developing critical thinking skills and fostering noble character. This study develops a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance critical thinking skills in the Akidah Akhlak subject at Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ulum Banda Aceh. The research aims to design an effective LKPD, evaluate its impact on learning outcomes, and assess its role in improving critical thinking abilities. Conducted from February 22 to April 12, 2022, the study involved 35 students from Class XI-2 for practicality testing, 25 students from Class XI-4 for effectiveness testing, and two Akidah Akhlak teachers, utilizing the Plomp development model. Data were collected through interviews, curriculum and concept analyses, validation sheets, practicality sheets, and critical thinking tests. The results demonstrate that the LKPD is highly valid (score 4.5), practical (score 4.5), and effective (score 4.67), significantly enhancing students’ critical thinking skills and academic performance. By integrating Islamic values and character education, the LKPD is engaging and relevant to daily life. This research contributes to Islamic education by providing an innovative teaching tool aligned with the 2013 Curriculum, underscoring the role of technology in improving the quality of education in madrasahs.     The Quran is the revered scripture of Muslims, and we continually find inspiration in reciting it. Understanding and practicing its contents is an obligation for Muslims. Before understanding the Quran, one must first be able to read it. Students are expected to be role models in Quranic recitation skills. Muslim students have an individual obligation to be proficient readers of the Quran. They are committing a sin if they continue to read in accordance with their preferences, misinterpret the Quran, or neglect the studies of the Quran. In reality, despite having completed several educational stages, a large number of pupils are unable to correctly recite the Quran. This study aimed to identify the variables affecting students' failure to read the Quran in accordance with Tajweed and to propose solutions. This study used a literature study method, conducted by reviewing several journals and books related to the problem of inability to read the Quran, especially among students. It can be concluded that teaching the Quran to students is very important, because being a student does not guarantee the ability to read the Quran well and correctly. Both internal and external factors may contribute to the pupils' incapacity to read the Qur'an. Internal factors include a lack of motivation and religious awareness, weak mastery of the Hijaiyah letters, and the habit of reading without guidance. The external factors include the teachers (as professionals), the curriculum, the unavailability of competent teachers, an unsupportive environment, the lack of structured learning methods, and psychological and spiritual factors. The two solutions to this issue are 1) encouraging students to have a strong desire to study the Qur'an and 2) acclimating pupils to reciting the Qur'an both alone and in groups.The Quran is the revered scripture of Muslims, and we continually find inspiration in reciting it.     PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PELATIHAN KEPALA SEKOLAH BERBASIS SEULANGKE UNTUK PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI RISK-TAKING DAN LEGITIMASI KULTURAL DI ACEH BESAR

    The leadership competence gap in Indonesia, particularly Aceh (UKKS score 53.89), stems from the dysfunction of conventional training. Previous training fails to incorporate futuristic competencies (risk-taking, negotiation) and neglects cultural legitimacy, resulting in a significant execution gap. This study aims to develop and validate the Seulangke-Based School Principal Training Model to bridge this gap through the lens of Sociocultural Theory. Utilizing the R&D ADDIE Model methodology and a Quasi-Experimental design (N=27), the research operationalizes the local Acehnese wisdom, Seulangke (wise, dignified, negotiator), as a cultural tool to mediate competence internalization. The developed model proved Highly Valid (mean score 4.64–4.71) and Highly Practical (85.9%). The effectiveness test demonstrated a significant improvement in competence for the Experimental Group, yielding an N-Gain Score of 0.649 (Medium-to-High category). This increase, particularly in Futuristic Competencies, was strongly confirmed by the TT-Test (p < 0.05).     This research aims to assess the application of the muhawaroh method in improving the Arabic language skills of students at the Nurul Jamil Al Jumar Wonosari Islamic Boarding School. Research findingsindicate that the muhawaroh method not only strengthens the speaking skills of students but also boosts their confidence in spontaneous communication. However, there are several obtascles in the implementation of this method. especially for students who are less comfortable in active interactions tend to have difficulty adapting, thus hindering their language skill development. Data collections techniques include interview and observations, and the data are analyzed descriptively to provide a systematic overview of the phenomena occurring. The results of interview with various ustadz indicate that shy students feel intimidated by the active classroom atmosphere, which ultimately hinders their interaction and learning.     Design of Hydroelectric Power Plant Demonstration Tools for Mentality Retarded Students

    Children with disabilities often have difficulty understanding abstract concepts, requiring concrete and visually accessible learning media. The purpose of this study was to design and evaluate the feasibility of a Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) demonstration tool as a science learning tool for children with intellectual disabilities. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg and Gall model. The developed PLTA demonstration tool uses simple and safe components, such as a water pump, dynamo, USB module, quick connector, and LED lights. Data were collected through expert validation conducted by Special School (SLB) teachers to assess the feasibility of the media and learning materials. The results showed that the demonstration tool met the feasibility criteria in terms of appearance, practicality, quality, and relevance to learning objectives. The media feasibility score reached an average of 95%, categorized as "very feasible," while the material feasibility scores also reached 95% in the same category. These findings indicate that the developed hydroelectric power plant demonstration tool is highly feasible and effective in supporting science learning for children with intellectual disabilities

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya frekuensi penggunaan ponsel pintar,yang menyebabkan munculnya nomofobia pada siswa, terutama siswa SMA,yang cenderung mengalami kecemasan ketika jauh dari dan tidak dapat berinteraksidengan ponsel pintar mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pre-test post-test. Delapan siswa dipilih sebagai subjek menggunakan teknik random sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala nomofobia yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui perhitungan skor rata-rata, perhitungan N-Gain, dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t sampel berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan skor nomofobia, dari rata-rata pra-tes sebesar 114,75 menjadi rata-rata pasca-tes sebesar 68,5. Nilai N-Gain yang diperoleh sebesar 0,50%, yang tergolong rendah. Uji-t sampel berpasangan juga menghasilkan nilai Thitung 35.051, yaitu besar dari Ttabel 2.364, yang menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis alternatif diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa konseling kelompok menggunakan pendekatan perilaku kognitif memiliki efek signifikan dalam mengurangi nomofobia pada mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh peneliti selanjutnya, khususnya pada bidang ilmu yang terkait

    Cybersecurity Policies Differences in Indonesia: A Systematic Literature Review of Public and Private Sector

    Abstract: Rapid digital transformation has increased the reliance of various sectors on information technology, while simultaneously giving rise to increasingly complex cybersecurity risks. Threats such as malware, ransomware, and attacks on critical infrastructure not only result in economic losses but can also disrupt national stability and undermine public trust. In this context, both the public and private sectors play crucial roles through their implemented cybersecurity policies. The public sector, represented by institutions such as the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), has a primary mandate to safeguard public interests and national resilience through a top-down approach based on formal regulations. Meanwhile, the private sector is more driven by market demands, the need for innovation, and efforts to maintain customer trust. Therefore, its cybersecurity policies tend to be adaptive, adopting international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 or the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative method with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to identify, evaluate, and synthesize findings from scientific journals, national policy documents, and recent cybersecurity reports. The results reveal fundamental differences in motivation, governance, and risk mitigation strategies between the public and private sectors in Indonesia. The public sector places greater emphasis on legal compliance and protecting vital infrastructure, while the private sector focuses more on speed of response and protecting business reputation. However, both sectors face similar challenges, such as limited cybersecurity expertise, technology adoption gaps, and weak cross-institutional coordination. This study recommends strengthening public-private collaboration through strategic partnerships to comprehensively and sustainably enhance national cybersecurity resilience. Abstrak: Percepatan transformasi digital meningkatkan ketergantungan berbagai sektor pada teknologi informasi sekaligus memperluas kompleksitas risiko siber. Ancaman seperti malware, ransomware, dan serangan terhadap infrastruktur kritis tidak hanya menimbulkan kerugian ekonomi, tetapi juga mengancam stabilitas negara serta kepercayaan publik. Dalam situasi ini, sektor publik dan swasta berperan penting melalui kebijakan keamanan siber. Sektor publik, melalui lembaga seperti Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara, bertugas melindungi kepentingan masyarakat dan ketahanan nasional dengan pendekatan top-down berbasis regulasi. Sebaliknya, sektor swasta didorong oleh kebutuhan pasar, inovasi, dan kepercayaan pelanggan sehingga kebijakannya lebih adaptif dengan standar internasional seperti ISO/IEC 27001 dan NIST Framework. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan SLR untuk menelaah dan mensintesis temuan dari jurnal, dokumen kebijakan, dan laporan terbaru. Hasil menunjukkan perbedaan mendasar pada motivasi, tata kelola, dan mitigasi risiko di Indonesia: sektor publik menitikberatkan kepatuhan hukum serta perlindungan infrastruktur vital, sedangkan sektor swasta pada respons cepat dan reputasi bisnis. Meski demikian, keduanya menghadapi kendala serupa berupa keterbatasan ahli, kesenjangan teknologi, dan lemahnya koordinasi. Studi ini merekomendasikan penguatan kemitraan publik-swasta guna memperkuat ketahanan siber nasional secara berkelanjutan

    Analisis Pengasuhan Penuh Kesadaran (Mindful Parenting) dalam Menumbuhkan Kemandirian Anak di Aceh Selatan

    This study aims to analyze mindful parenting practices in fostering independence among children aged 5–6 years in South Aceh and to identify factors that hinder the implementation of these practices. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. The participants consisted of four mothers and four early childhood children selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using structured observations, open-ended interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through triangulation to ensure the credibility of the findings. The results indicate that mindful parenting is practiced through attentive communication, parental emotional regulation, non-judgmental acceptance, and supportive involvement in children’s daily activities. These practices positively contribute to children’s independence, as reflected in their ability to perform self-care tasks, engage in social interactions, and demonstrate initiative in everyday activities. However, the implementation of mindful parenting is influenced by economic conditions, time constraints due to parental work demands, and the social environment. Despite these challenges, the findings highlight that the quality of parent–child interactions grounded in awareness and emotional presence remains a key factor in supporting children’s independence. This study provides valuable insights into the application of mindful parenting within a specific sociocultural context and contributes to the broader understanding of awareness-based parenting practices in early childhood education.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi praktik mindful parenting dan perannya dalam menumbuhkan kemandirian anak usia 5–6 tahun dalam konteks sosial budaya Aceh Selatan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam mengenai pengalaman pengasuhan berkesadaran dalam keluarga. Partisipan penelitian terdiri atas empat ibu dan empat anak yang dipilih secara purposive berdasarkan kriteria keterlibatan aktif dalam pengasuhan anak usia dini. Ukuran sampel ditetapkan dengan pertimbangan kedalaman data dan saturasi makna, sesuai dengan karakteristik penelitian kualitatif eksploratif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi terstruktur, wawancara mendalam semi-terbuka, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik melalui tahapan pengkodean terbuka, pengelompokan kategori, dan pengembangan tema, dengan triangulasi sumber dan teknik sebagai strategi validasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mindful parenting diwujudkan melalui kesadaran orang tua dalam berkomunikasi, kemampuan regulasi emosi, penerimaan anak tanpa penghakiman, serta keterlibatan suportif dalam aktivitas keseharian. Praktik-praktik tersebut berkontribusi terhadap perkembangan kemandirian anak, yang tercermin dalam kemampuan perawatan diri, pengambilan inisiatif, dan interaksi sosial yang adaptif. Namun demikian, implementasi mindful parenting dipengaruhi oleh faktor struktural dan kultural, seperti keterbatasan ekonomi, tuntutan pekerjaan orang tua, serta norma sosial setempat. Studi ini menegaskan bahwa mindful parenting tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai strategi pengasuhan individual, tetapi juga berinteraksi dengan konteks budaya lokal dalam membentuk kemandirian anak. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memperkaya kajian mindful parenting dengan menempatkan kemandirian anak sebagai luaran perkembangan utama dalam konteks budaya Indonesia, serta memberikan kontribusi empiris berbasis studi kasus terhadap literatur internasional mengenai pengasuhan berkesadaran pada anak usia dini

    Pengelolaan Stres dan Ketahanan Keluarga: Studi Pada Caregiver Skizofrenia

    Having a family member with schizophrenia is not easy. Caregivers will naturally experience physical exhaustion and may even fall ill. Psychologically, they may experience burnout and stress. Behaviorally, caregivers may express emotions such as irritation, anger, sadness, apathy, and even aggression. Socially, caregivers may feel ashamed, isolated, and this can affect the functioning or resilience of the family. Ideally, a caregiver should be able to adapt and grow in the face of crisis or severe pressure while accompanying a schizophrenia patient, maintaining a healthy mind and body and achieving good family resilience. The results of the assessment using the Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUD's) (1-10) on six caregivers who regularly visit health care facilities showed stress levels in the moderate to high categories. This was reinforced by the results of interviews with several caregivers and health workers who stated that many caregivers experience stress and low resilience within the family. One effort that can be made to deal with stress and low family functioning is to obtain psychological intervention for stress management. This study aims to examine the effect of stress management intervention on caregivers of schizophrenia patients. This study uses a quasi-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design consisting of 4 sessions. The sampling technique in this study uses purposive sampling. The results of the study show that there is a change in SUD's scores among caregivers, which directly affects family resilience
