    Influences of Short-term Study Abroad Programs

    本研究では、カルフォルニア州立大学ロングビーチ校における 週間の文化語学研修に参加した日本の大学生を対象に、英語学習に対する意欲や態度にどのような変化が生じたかを調査する。著者は研修に参加した学生と参加しなかった学生両方に取った事前事後の意識調査の結果と、研修参加後に取ったアンケート結果をもとにその影響について調査した。その結果、短期海外研修は英語学習と異文化交流への意欲の増加において、効果があることが分かった。また、短期海外研修であっても、語学力の変化に影響を与える可能性があることが示された。この留学プログラムに参加した学生は、主にリスニング能力が向上し、英語で話すことや意見を表現することへの抵抗感が少なくなったと感じたと回答した。This study explores what changes in motivation and attitude toward learning the English language occurred with Japanese university students who participated in a three-week culture and language study abroad program at California State University at Long Beach, California. The authors examine the influence using the results of attitude surveys taken from participating and non-participating students before and after the program and a post-study abroad questionnaire. The results reveal that the short-term study abroad program is effective in increasing students’ motivation to learn English and to interact with people from other cultures. This study also indicates that even a short-term study abroad program can influence changes with language proficiency; students feel improvements especially with listening skills and less reluctance to speak and express themselves in English.departmental bulletin pape

    源氏物語にみられる助動詞「べかめり」の用法(一) ―会話文における用例を中心に―

    This paper aims to analyze the usage of classical Japanese auxiliary verb “bekammeri”, which is a compound word composed of two auxilialy “beshi” and “meri”, in the Tale of Genji. In this novel, we find there are some differences in the types of verbs preceding “bekammeri” between the parts of narration and conversation. This also suggests the differences of syntaxical function of “bekammeri” in both cases. This paper focusing on the exemples in conversational sentences, in terms of the type of events described by verb and “bekammeri”, we classify “bekammeri” in five categories. Through the analysis of each categories,we find that the exemples of “bekammeri”, describing events that are already realized and non speaker-concerning (Hitogoto), are dominant in the novel. Furthermore, we attempt to analyze the co-occurrence of “bekammeri” and “beshi” or “meri”. The results show the complementary relationships between both auxiliary verbs.departmental bulletin pape

    本研究では、薬学部の5 年次生(薬学生)が短期大学食物栄養学科の学生に対して行った、がん教育授業について報告する。授業で使用する資料、授業動画、授業後のレポート課題内容の作成、および授業前後アンケートの解析は、薬学生が主体となり行った。授業後レポートのテキストマイニングでは、将来、がん患者に食事を提供する立場となる食物栄養学科の学生ならではの具体的な考えが示されていた。また、授業後アンケートの結果は、従来、がん教育の外部講師として活用されている医師、がん経験者によるがん授業でのアンケート結果と遜色ないものであったことから、薬学生もがん教育を担えることを示すことができた。departmental bulletin pape

    組織間関係の信頼に着目したアライアンスの 発展プロセス ‐ メーカーと代理店の関係性に着目して‐

    This study clarified the relationship between the three companies, including the subsidiary, which has been maintained for many years, with respect to how trust is central to the intercompany relationship and what effects appear between the companies. This paper revealed the following three things. for (1) in Discussion 1, both companies had explained the situation to their subordinates and others around them, so they had fulfilled their roles. For (2), they were quite familiar with each other's organizational characteristics, as we understood from the interviews. For(3), they were fulfilling their accountability to their own organization to their superiors, and at the same time, they were explaining to their subordinates, so their negotiation behavior was properly conducted. The organizational set perspective of the case between the three companies in this study allowed us to clarify the respective roles of Company A, Company B, and Company C. As a result, it was inferred that the alliance would be stronger and deeper when the third company's organization intervened in the inter-organizational relationship theory. The relationship among the three companies, from a long-term perspective, led to the expansion of new sales channels as open products added high value and were sent to overseas sales networks. In addition, diversity in products has been created, leading to supply chain management functions, communication of needs in the field, and improvement of information networks and products, thus having a competitive advantage. It was confirmed that the basis for this is the formation of "trust," in which the role of the person in charge of the border is well done. It was confirmed that the assumptions of the resource dependence perspective are being flexibly addressed. We also discussed how the process of trust between organizations goes through the stages of alliance development and evolution. The results suggest that an important factor in the maturation of an alliance is to go through a process in which trust is asymmetrical before the alliance reaches maturity. However, this insight is based on a single case study, and the sample size for qualitative research is insufficient. In addition, this study focused on inter - organizational relationships within Ishikawa Prefecture. Therefore, it is necessary to deepen the discussion based on other regional characteristics. We would also like to clarify in future research whether universality can be found in supply chains with other affiliations.departmental bulletin pape

    英語教員養成課程学生は授業の何を言語化したか ―英語科目のStudent Assistant 活動を通じて―

    This research investigates the experiences of Student Assistants (SAs) in the teacher education program at Hokuriku University, focusing on their participation in and observation of two first-year English proficiency courses during the second semester of the 2022 academic year. The study aims to identify challenges and opportunities for improving teacher education practices through the SA system. The present study considers the value of SAs participating in and observing university-level English classes to enhance their reflective skills. This approach allows SAs to shift from passive observers to adopting the perspective of instructors, broadening their understanding of the processes and factors involved in English classes. The study addresses the question: "What insights do teacher education program students verbalize through language articulation during their observation of university-level English classes as Student Assistants?" The findings highlight three key themes in SA reflections: a strong interest in "learner participation" "learner comprehension" and "learner individual characteristics." Students tended to articulate more about "learning" than "teaching" and a lack of explicit "inference" regarding course progression was observed.     就職活動が大学生の価値観に及ぼす影響(1) ―大学3年生を対象とした探索的検討―

    A panel survey was conducted among third-year university students in the Department of Psychology and Social Studies at Hokuriku University with the aim of exploring the impact of job hunting on the values of university students. The first survey was conducted in April 2023 and the second in July 2023. This study then examined whether there were differences in values based on Schwarz's (2012) 10-value model depending on the pattern of participation in internship information sessions and workshops. Because the survey was conducted before the start of full-fledged job hunting, this study didn’t find that the pattern of participation in events and workshops significantly changed the values of students. Regardless of participation patterns, values related to "independence" and "social participation as a responsible adult" tended to increase between April and July.就職活動が大学生の価値観に及ぼす影響を探索的に検討することを目的に,北陸大学の 心理社会学科に所属する大学3 年生を対象にパネル調査を実施した。第1 回調査は2023 年4 月,第2 回調査は2023 年7 月に行った。2 時点間で調査参加者が,インターンシッ プ説明会等の就活イベント,および,北陸大学の進路支援課が実施したワークショップに どの程度参加したかを尋ね,参加パターンを類型化した。そして,群間でSchwarz(2012) の10 の価値観モデルに基づく価値観に差がみられるかを検討した。本格的な就職活動が 始まっていない期間であったため,イベントやワークショップの参加パターンが大学生の 価値観を大きく変化させるという結果は見いだせなかった。参加パターンとは無関係に, 大学3 年生の4 月から7 月にかけて,自立に関する価値観および責任ある大人として社会 に参加することに関わる価値観が高まる傾向が示された。departmental bulletin pape
