The Effective Effort to Introduce e-learning System into English Education in Faculty: A Challenge in the New Faculty
This paper aims to report effective efforts to introduce e-learning System into English
education in the new faculty, Faculty of International Communication. E-learning
system, Super Eigo, has been introduced since 2017. All of the students study elearning as an assignment for one of the English subjects. The assignments are set by
using the scale of mileage which is given according to the achievement of the learning
or activity time on the system. In 2019, a Sales representative who was one of the
developers was invited to explain Super Eigo. The aim of invitation was for the students’
better understanding of the system and their autonomous learning. The session was
set in the beginning of the fall semester 2019. All English major students from 2nd year
and 3rd year listened to the sales person in the class which the e-learning was assigned
in. The effect of this effort was examined by the analysis of the data of the e-learning,
TOEIC Listening and Reading score and the students’ reflection of the class. According
to the result, the talk of the sales person was motivated students. However, the result
of TOEIC L&R showed the necessity of improvement. departmental bulletin pape
Attitude Survey on Radiation
In Japan, cancer treatment is expected to continue increasing as the number of elderly
people increases. Since surgery is a heavy physical burden for the elderly, pain after
operation and exhaustion of physical fitness are major problems in quality of life. On the
other hand, the number of radiation therapy cases is expected to increase because radiation
therapy is less invasive and reduces physical burden. However, there are many people who
have a sense of disgust or fear about radioactive materials and radiation because Japan is
the only country to have experienced atomic bombs and has experienced the Fukushima
Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident caused by the Tohoku Earthquake.
In this study, we investigated the consciousness of these students about radiation in
Faculty of International Communication and Economics and Management as a student who
seems to have no opportunity to learn about radiation at universities, and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Health and Medical Sciences as a medical science course
student.
The results suggest that both medical sciences students have knowledge about radiation
because they have an opportunity to learn about radiation, but those who have no
opportunity to learn about radiation are scared of radiation with vague knowledge. In
addition, in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, it was found that the difference in
radiation consciousness with radiological technologists was smaller in upper grade students.
On the other hand, many students in the Faculty of Humanities had a scary image of
radiation. From this, it can be considered that patients will become anxious about radiation
as the relationship between radiation and medical treatment further increases. It is
important that medical personnel such as pharmacists acquire correct knowledge of
radiation. We also think that there is a role to support treatment from the patient's
standpoint.〔査読有り〕の原著論文

Toward the realization of a “curriculum open to society”—from the perspective of “connecting” children and adult -
As the title suggests, this paper has discussed the realization of an “educational
course open to society”. he Japanese-style education system has been positively
evaluated in Western Europe, but with an emphasis on the continuity of child-rearing
discipline and school education with reference to the view that the system is facing a
crisis and research results of brain science about. To that end, he recommended that
the connection between children and adults as “individuals” should be emphasized,
and that this should be practiced in educational settings. He also gained the ability to
sense the feelings of others and argued that this is important for living in society〔査読有り〕の原著論文

Using English Literature as Teaching Materials
The idea of using literary works negatively reminds people of the traditional grammartranslation method, which tends to be thought passive and out of place in the age of
active learning. The active learning method is usually said to motivate students to
learn by their own initiative, making it possible for learners to acquire the basic social,
communicative and practical abilities. Here arises a question: does utilizing literary
works necessarily have to be connected only to passive learning? Literary materials
have a lot of possibilities. Depending on the usage, they could be efficient study
materials even in the active learning classroom. Literary works being socio-cultural
constructions, students can learn both cultural and social issues in an authentic context.
Literary texts also contain many useful expressions and vocabularies seen in everyday
life. As in reality, they require learners to read between the lines and make inferences,
which is one of the most indispensable skills of communication. Most of all, literature
has much room for interpretation. If adequately utilized, literary materials would
stimulate students’ imagination and bring out many ideas from them. They thereby
would spontaneously come to want to discuss their ideas with peers. The atmosphere
of the classroom would then be active in the fullest sense. So as to make the most of
literature, however, it is desirable that it is better received by students. Learning time
at university is limited, and materials that motivate students the most might enhance
their learning capacities. This essay is intended as an investigation of how students
view literary materials through a questionnaire survey and to suggest the further
possibility of using literature in the English classroom.〔査読有り〕の原著論文

A Survey of Chinese Students' willing Studying abroad in Japan - Analyzing Targets from Shenyang Aerospace University and Dalian University of Foreign Languages -
There are many international students in the Faculty of Economics and Business
Administration, Hokuriku University. And a lot of them interested in going to graduate
school. In this paper, I conducted a questionnaire survey for students from two affiliated
schools of Hokuriku University in China. Based on the results, I will try to analyze the
attitude of international students who wish to study in Japan.
For students, there is always a difference between the final results and the envisage when
they were at Chinese University. Perhaps it can be inferred that the situation changed after
actually studying abroad. Since the members of our faculty do not usually have a good
understanding of international students' s purpose, hopes, and current situation, it is
necessary to have a consciousness investigation to recognize that there is a difference in the
consciousness of the international students and the faculty.
The result of the questionnaire shows that there is a problem with school fees. Most students
feel that their tuition is high. At our University, we have a scholarship system for
international students, but of course, not all of them can get it. When they study at our
university, half of the fees will be exempted, but they feel that even half of the tuition is high.
Also, as long as they come to study at our university, it should be our issue to respond to their
needs such as the environment of study and the support of going to graduate school or finding
employment. The challenge for the university is how to meet the needs of international
students with limited personnel and resources. There is also an issue regarding the delay of
the graduation year. The new semester starts in September in China, but April in Japan.
Leaves a half-year gap. Making effective use of that period, students who are not familiar
with the Japanese language are recommended to enter the special course for foreign students half a year early, and then enroll in the faculty in April half a year later. Finally, to ensure
the number of enrollments, it is important to support students with their entrance exams for
graduate school. The number of students who went on to graduate school is a grade for the
university to attract students from China. For affiliated schools, there is always a close
connection between seniors and juniors students.
The situation of senior students currently studying at our university greatly influences the
hopes of juniors in China. So what we are doing now is linked to the entrance of international
students in the next year.〔査読有り〕の調査研究departmental bulletin pape

Classification of Informat for Patients Using Home Mechanical Ventilation during Disasters
During disasters, treatment and nursing for people requiring support with special needs, such as
patients with intractable diseases, must not be interrupted even in shelters. Disasters directly threaten
the lives of patients using life-support systems.
To promote smooth treatment and care in disaster shelters, the present study examined and extracted
information regarding necessary treatment and care conditions for patients using home mechanical
ventilation.
From all public health centers, supporting patients with intractable diseases operated by
prefectures/designated cities, base and specialized hospitals for the treatment of intractable diseases,
councils of home-visit nursing service offices, and home-visit nursing service offices throughout Japan,
934 facilities were randomly selected to collect their , <disaster
preparedness guides>, , and
with their cooperation. The information regarding treatment and nursing contained in these materials
was classified into different contents, and the number of contents and proportion of each content were
calculated.
There were 126 types of guides and handbooks, and the information contained in them was classified
into 206 contents (100%), which were summarized into 11 categories: 1) basic information, 2) insurance
classification, 3) ADL, 4) shelters, 5) contacts, 6) medications, 7) vital signs, 8) nutrition, 9) airway
maintenance/management, 10) home oxygen therapy, and 11) mechanical ventilation.
Furthermore, types of information that should be prioritized were extracted from these categories.
These types will be generalized throughout Japan to some extent as the minimum necessary
departmental bulletin pape
From The Comprehensive Learning Time to The Comprehensive Quest Time ~On the meaning of the act as Quest~
In this paper, in order to foster the independence of Japanese middle and high school
students who are considered low self-affirmation internationally, it is important to
make them experience self-utility. And in future education in Japan, we should pay
attention to self-utility again. Self-usefulness imparts one stone to the traditional
Japanese way of education emphasizing emotional aspects, and discussed the Jigsaw
method as having the possibility to realize it. Regarding the Jigsaw law, attention
should be paid to the aspect of "cooperation as skills", and it has the possibility of
casting a single stone in the Japanese education that has emphasized the conventional
emotional aspects.〔査読有り〕の原著論文departmental bulletin pape
