Between realities of Japanese society in modern Japanese society and Moral education － An essay of “SEKEN-GAKU” from Taisho to early Showa period －

From Taisho era to the early Showa era from the perspective of moral education and
career education. Result of consideration, three books “SEKEN-GAKU” , it is
common in that it discusses the gap between the reality of “seken” and the knowledge
learned at school. However, the two “SEKEN-GAKU” written in the early Showa
period revealed that success and common sense were linked to morality and
discipline, and that one “SEKEN-GAKU” written in Taisho period revealed two sides

Considering the Deterrent Effect of Neighborhood Watch Activities on Sex Crimes―Based on Incidents Data and the Perceptions of Volunteers
Get PDFThe purpose of this paper is, first, to describe the situation of sex crimes in Fukuoka
Prefecture by analyzing the incidents data on 142 cases of outdoor sexual offenses
occurred in 2016 and 2017, in which the perpetrators were arrested and the details
were known, provided by the Fukuoka Prefectural Police. It is observed that the reality
is very different from the conventional image: (1) Less than 40% of the victims were in
the situation using a smartphone or drinking alcohol, (2) Victims were mainly wearing
"T-shirts," "pants," and "hoodies," and less revealing clothes were seen, (3) More victims
lived with their family than living alone. Second, survey among volunteers patrolling
the community were conducted to identify the gap between their perception and reality.
Regarding the survey, a tendency to attribute the victim's clothing and psychological
guardedness is persistent. Half of the volunteers perceived the crime to be caused by
the victim. Third, as community policing activities for crime prevention, the following
should be considered: (1) public disclosure and sharing of data on crime situations by
local police, (2) volunteer crime prevention activities based on evidence, and (3)
proactive proposals for new methods.本論文の目的は，第１に、2016年および2017年の屋外で発生した性犯罪について福岡県警から提供された発生状況データを分析し、福岡県の性犯罪の状況を記述することである。第2に，地域パトロールを行うボランティアの性犯罪の認識に関する意識調査を行い，彼らの認識と現実とのギャップを明らかにする。第３に、以上のエビデンスをもとに防犯に関するコミュニティ警察活動に向けた考察を行うことである。犯罪状況データについては，通俗的な理解とは大きく異なる実態が見えてきた。地域パトロールを行うボランティアの意識調査については、被害者の服装や心理的な油断に帰属する傾向が根強い，という傾向が見えてきた。防犯に向けたコミュニティ警察活動政策として，(1)犯罪発生状況のデータの公開と共有であること，(2)データに基づいた防犯ボランティア活動であること，(3)新たな方法の積極的な提案であること，といった施策が考えられる。departmental bulletin pape
Development and Implementation of Data Science Education Program for Second Year Seminar
Get PDFScholars and practitioners have increasingly emphasized data science education in
recent years. Thus, this study aims to develop and implement new teaching materials
in the field of data science education, which are dedicated to teaching students about
artificial intelligence (AI). The materials address the following aspects of AI: discussing
AI in business, the mechanism of machine learning, pre-processing, and visualization
necessary for data analysis. To understand their effectiveness, we used materials for
undergraduate students at the economics and management department, Hokuriku
University. Moreover, we measured the degrees of interest in and understanding of AI
of the students using questionnaires. The main finding is that students are more
interested in learning about AI after using the materials. Additionally, faculty members
who did not specialize in AI or data science research increased the degree of interest
among students using the materials.近年、研究者や実務家がデータサイエンス教育を重視する傾向が強まっている。そこで本研究では、データサイエンス教育の分野において、人工知能（AI）に関する教育に特化した新しい教材を開発し、実践することを目的とする。本教材では、ビジネスにおけるAIの議論、機械学習の仕組み、データ分析に必要な前処理、可視化などを取り上げている。本教材の効果を検証をするために、北陸大学経済経営学部の学部生を対象として、学生のAIに対する関心度や理解度をアンケートで測定した。その結果、学生のAIに関する学習への関心が高まっていることが明らかとなった。また、AIやデータサイエンス研究を専門としていない教員は、教材を使用した学生の関心度を高めることができたこともわかった。departmental bulletin pape
"External diseconomies" of family: an Analysis on Notion of children as Social Overhead Capital and on Unequal distribution of domestic tasks between women and men in Modern Era
Get PDFInfluenced by Hirofumi Uzawa’s concept of “Social Overhead Capital,” we explain that
children are one type of this phenomena. With this idea, we describe a “new definition” of
relations between national or local governments and families: the first responsibility of
reproduction belongs to the governments; however, that imposes on families its external
diseconomy and the cost which inevitably arise from reproduction management and child
rearing. The family, imposed on by the Social Overhead Costs of reproduction from society
slide all household/family related tasks to women. This kind of unequal distribution
between men and women aided in the advantages in Japan with regard to the development
of its Capitalist economy: instead of keeping mothers in the house, enterprises can easily
obtain men as workers. Finally, based on the critiques of neoclassical economies, which
supported the development of capitalism, we suggest a “paradigm shift” to system of
building community centered on children’s network of “interdependence.” This challenge
brings us the new idea of “alienation of men from family care”: which means a separation
from the “market economy.” It will be possible to incorporate care-taker labor and women

Get PDF医療保健学部の初年次必修科目である「生命・医療倫理学」では、医療職を志す学生の
「事象から倫理的課題を見出す力」、「倫理的センスを高める力」、「対話を通して探究する
力」そして「倫理的ジレンマに耐えて考え続ける力」の醸成を目指している。「質問づくり」
および「PBL（Problem-Based Learning）とポスターツアー」という活動が、学生にこれ
らの能力の獲得を促したかどうかを、ルーブリックに基づくレポート評価およびレポート
の記述内容分析により評価した。その結果、90%以上の学生が生命倫理、医療倫理に関す
る問題／課題を絞り込み、「生命医療倫理を学び、考える必要性」について論述することが
できていた。学生は、「質問づくり」を通して提示された事例の中に倫理的課題を発見し、
PBL を通して倫理的ジレンマの中に身を置いて他者と対話し、多様な価値観に耳を傾ける
ことの価値に気付いていた。ポスターツアーは、倫理的課題や倫理的ジレンマについて考
えたことや話し合ったことを、一人ひとりが自分なりの言葉で述べるという態度形成に役
立ったと考えられる。以上より、これら一連の活動は、倫理的課題の発見と倫理的センス

Advertising Expression in Web News Headline -Comparison with Magazine Article Headline-
Get PDF大谷（2016）をはじめとした研究では、雑誌記事見出し文を対象に、特定の文言を伴う
ことで「事実上の広告文」との解釈が可能な見出し文の分析を行ってきた。今回、web 上
のニュースサイトに掲載された記事見出しのうち、記事内容が事実上の広告となっている
事例を対象に、大谷（2016）等と同様の手法で小調査を行い、調査・分析手法の適用可能
性の検討、ならびに「雑誌記事見出し」と「web ニュース見出し」との間での共通点・相
違点の抽出を行った。
小調査の結果、大谷（2016）等での「宣伝・広告を企図した言語情報」の分類枠に範疇
化が可能な事例が全体の約 85%を占め、適用に関する一定の妥当性が認められた。一方、
「雑誌記事見出し」と「web ニュース見出し」との共通点としては、分類枠に掲げた語句
の使用、「『説得』系＜『暗示』系」の傾向、の 2 点が確認できた。また、相違点としては
「アイテム＋〇選」との言い回しの多用、『情報』系の文言の多出、分類枠に範疇化できな
い用例の存在、の 3 点が確認できた。ただし、今回調査対象とした事例は非常に少ないた
め、①より多くの用例の収集、②豊富な用例を対象とした量的調査の実践、が喫緊の課題

Building Faculty Learning Communities: dialogue-based reflective practice by action research
Get PDFFaculty Learning Communities (FLCs), a type of professional learning community,
are attracting attention as a method of promoting reflective educational practice. FLCs
are often composed of faculty members who are interested in a particular topic, and in
the North America, methods such as small-group intensive training (institutes),
retreats, and cohort formation (fellowship system) have been developed and are being
implemented as a variety of FLCs. In Japan, Ikeda et al. (2016) have created a
community of practice, but comparative research and conceptualization of FLCs in
faculty development (FD) practice and research is limited in Japan. This paper reports
on the design and framework of dialogue-based educational development through FLC
