A Safety City for Foreigner Means Safety for Everyone – Case Study of Higashikawa-City, Hokkaido
Get PDFThis article shows an idea for the definition of a “safe city” for foreigners through the
good practice of Higashikawa-city (Hokkaido). The best way for protecting people from
disasters, not only foreigners, but also Japanese people is protecting one’s “normal life”.
Where all people can live a normal life comfortably, attract people to visit and live, and
mitigate disasters. There is an interactive effect between building resilience of
community against disasters and accepting to live with foreigners: Open mindedness
to living together helps communities to build a close relationship among the members,
including foreigners, and this close relationship helps them to transfer emergency
information, to organize shelters for victims, etc. The policy of Disaster Prevention in
Japan, famous as an Earthquake and Tsunami country, should be an inclusive and
comprehensive one: preparing disaster resilience through community based on a close

The effect of the grant to promote application consideration
Get PDF本稿の目的は高レベル放射性廃棄物（High Level Nuclear Waste,以下 HLW と表す）最
終処分場の文献調査段階で自治体に交付される交付金（以下，文献調査交付金と表す）の
有効性の検証である．当該研究における主な研究手法は住民に対するアンケート調査から
HLW 最終処分場への感情および受容の意思を分析するものが主流である．一方，HLW 最
終処分場受容に対する意思決定を行う自治体の行動分析は蓄積が進んでいない．本稿は意
思決定主体として自治体を対象として交付金というベネフィットが文献調査の応募に影響
を与えているか否かを推定する．推定の結果，文献調査交付金は有効とは言えない一方で，
原子力関連施設を有する自治体に交付される電源立地地域対策交付金は応募検討に有効で
あることが示された．この結果は文献調査にかかる交付金の絶対額が過少であることを示
しており，応募検討が促されない原因の一つと考えられる．
推定結果をもとに応募検討確率を算定した結果，本稿の枠組みでは一人当たり約 128 万
円以上の交付金が交付されると制度設計された場合，応募検討確率が 50%を超えると推計

Japanese supporter training course to think about multicultural coexistence from the diversity of Japanese people: Analysis of Interviews with Japanese language volunteer training course participants
Get PDFIn this study, I reported on the practice of activities to think about the diversity of
Japanese people in the Japanese language supporter training course in regional
Japanese language education, and how the participants came to understand
"multicultural coexistence" through this practice.
"Japanese vs. foreigners" is always a problem when thinking about multicultural
coexistence. Multicultural coexistence tends to be thought of as living in harmony with
foreigners from the perspective of the Japanese. For this reason, multicultural
coexistence is regarded as a relationship between "Japanese" and "foreigners," which
causes the problem of asymmetry in local Japanese language activities.
Multicultural coexistence is not something to think about in such a binary opposition,
but relates to everyone who lives in Japan, and it is necessary to think about
multicultural coexistence from this viewpoint. Therefore, for participants who want to
be involved in Japanese language activities in the region, I conducted an activity to
think about the diversity of Japanese people in the course. After that, an interview
survey was conducted with the participants.
As a result of the survey, it became clear that the participants noticed the diversity
of Japanese people and that there was a change in their thinking about foreigners.
Through this activity, they understood multicultural coexistence was not the
coexistence of "Japanese and foreigners" but the coexistence of all people living in

Empirical Research on the Decision-making process of Donors in Crowdfunding

crowdfunding. As a result, we found that the target amount, the number of Facebook
shares, the existence of Twitter accounts, and the number of project photos are
significant factors that determine the donation destination. This is useful information

Rise-Up and Flow-Down: Teaching Pronunciation
Get PDFEnglish language learners (ELLs) during acquisition face challenges associated with
English word stress, sentence stress, and intonation since each language is unique in this
regard and has its own particular rhythmic system. Acquiring English language fluency is
more than the study of grammar, words, and sentences, but also involves the practice and
the perception of the emotional coloring of the utterances with correct pronunciation that
does not interfere with communication. Pronunciation strategies is an important element of
English fluency and can help mitigate miscommunication. Although making mistakes in this
area is very common, learners can still learn to avoid errors that can interfere with
communication when classroom instruction explicitly provides learners with the tools to
overcome them. Utilizing instructional methods that focused on word stress, sentence stress,
and intonation, first-and-second-year university students at a private university learned to
recognize, practice, and perform correct English word stress, sentence stress, and intonation
patterns using a novel approach to pronunciation instruction the researcher calls the rise-up
and flow-down method. The results of the classroom practice over a semester indicate that
there is a direct perceived improvement in the students’ ability to use English word stress,
sentence stress, and intonation that may lead to an overall improvement in English fluency.
The study hopes to add a valuable and practical classroom practice method to be used for the

Multicenter collaborative survey of adherence to anticoagulants in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation at core hospitals in Ishikawa Prefecture
Get PDF非弁膜症性心房細動に使用される抗凝固薬は脳梗塞予防のために継続した服用が不可欠
となる。そのうち直接経口抗凝固薬はワルファリンと異なりプロトロンビン時間国際標準
比（PT-INR）のモニタリングが不要となるため医療従事者の管理を免れたアドヒアランス
の低下が懸念されている。そこで、我々は非弁膜症性心房細動患者における抗凝固薬のア
ドヒアランスを調査した。今回、石川県の中核を担う 3 病院に通院する非弁膜症性心房細
動患者 1022 名を対象とした。アドヒアランスは抗凝固薬が実際に処方された日数を初回
処方から追跡終了までの調査期間で除した値を用いた。この値が 90%を超える場合アドヒ
アランス良好群、90%以下をアドヒアランス不良群と定義した。アドヒアランス良好群は
986 名（96%）であった。抗凝固薬の服薬状況は良好で、直接経口抗凝固薬とワルファリ
ンとの薬剤間の差はみられなかった。多変量解析の結果、アドヒアランスに影響を与える
要因として入院イベント、HAS-BLED スコア（≦ 2 点）が抽出された。よって、入院イ
ベントを有する患者や HAS-BLED スコアが小さく出血事象のリスクの低い患者ほど服薬
管理を強化する必要があると考えられた。departmental bulletin pape
