Microteaching practices and educational field experiences have long been part of the professional training of teachers. Both are requirements that must be taken by prospective teachers to become skilled and professional teachers. This study aims to describe the effect of microteaching practices and educational field experiences on the professionalism of prospective teachers. A quantitative approach with the correlational method was used to analyze the data obtained from 178 teacher candidates who took part in the practice of microteaching and carried out 6 months of educational field experience. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. The results of the data analysis show that the microteaching practice and educational field experiences affect the professionalism of prospective teachers. However, educational field experiences have a more dominant influence than the practice of microteaching. Educational field experience directly shapes the character of prospective teachers to become professional educators because they are faced with real experience in the field. Meanwhile, the practice of microteaching occurs in a limited space so the teaching experience gained by prospective teachers is also limited. More effective management of microteaching practices needs to be a concern because through microteaching prospective teachers theoretically and practically gain knowledge about basic teaching skills and skills in compiling learning tools. The knowledge gained during the practice of microteaching is used by prospective teachers while carrying out educational field experiences

Abstract:  This research develops a web-based system to detect the similarity of thesis titles using the Modified Cosine Similarity method and TF-IDF weighting. This system helps students in evaluating the similarity of titles automatically, so as to avoid plagiarism and increase the originality of research. The process used includes text preprocessing (case folding, tokenizing, stopword removal, stemming), TF-IDF calculation for word weighting, and the use of Modified Cosine Similarity to measure the level of similarity between titles. The test results show that the system is able to identify the similarity of titles with a 100% recall rate, where titles with >70% similarity need to be revised, 31%-70% similarity can be clarified by adding words, and ≤30% similarity is potentially accepted as an original title. With this implementation, it is expected that students can more easily determine a thesis title that is unique and in accordance with academic standards.Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem berbasis web untuk mendeteksi kemiripan judul skripsi menggunakan metode Modified Cosine Similarity dan pembobotan TF-IDF. Get PDF
Abstract: This study compares the Newton Midpoint Halley (NMH) method and the Olver Method in numerically solving the roots of non-linear equations. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the efficiency and convergence speed of both methods. Results show that the Newton Midpoint Halley method is superior in convergence, with a faster quadratic convergence rate and fewer iterations to achieve a certain accuracy than the Olver method. Although Olver's method is effective, NMH is able to achieve solutions with small errors in fewer iterations. In addition, the NMH method has a simpler and more intuitive algorithm, making it easier to implement in math teaching, especially for math education students. Although the Olver method offers higher accuracy, in terms of efficiency and ease of implementation, the Newton Midpoint Halley method is more recommended. Knowledge of both methods is important for students and can be applied in teaching and further applied mathematics research.

    Get PDF
Abstract: Non-linear equations are a form of mathematical problem that is often found in various fields of science, such as engineering, physics, and computers. The solution cannot always be done analytically, so the numerical approach becomes a commonly used solution. This research discusses and compares two numerical methods, namely the Hybrid method and the Laguerre method, in numerically finding the roots of non-linear equations using Matlab software. The Hybrid method combines the advantages of two methods, such as Newton-Raphson and bisection, to improve convergence speed and stability. Meanwhile, the Laguerre method is known to be efficient in solving high degree polynomial equations. The assessment is based on three main aspects: convergence speed, stability, and computational efficiency. Simulation results on various types of functions - polynomial, exponential, trigonometric, and logarithmic-show that the Hybrid method tends to have shorter computation time in some cases, while the Laguerre method shows stable performance in most trials. This study concludes that both methods have their own advantages depending on the characteristics of the function being solved. Therefore, the results of this study can be an important reference for the selection of appropriate numerical methods in the application of solving non-linear equations effectively and accurately
