Implementasi inovasi energi hijau untuk mendukung kemandirian energi dalam penerangan jalan di Desa Surokonto Wetan Kecamatan Pageruyung Kabupaten Kendal
AbstrakPemanfaatan energi terbarukan menjadi langkah strategis dalam mendukung transisi energi yang berkelanjutan, terutama di wilayah pedesaan yang belum sepenuhnya terjangkau oleh infrastruktur listrik konvensional. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan inovasi teknologi Penerangan Jalan Umum Tenaga Surya (PJU-TS) sebagai solusi penerangan berbasis energi hijau di Desa Surokonto Wetan, Kecamatan Pageruyung, Kabupaten Kendal. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi masyarakat setempat adalah minimnya pencahayaan jalan lingkungan, yang berdampak pada aspek keselamatan, aktivitas malam hari, dan rasa aman warga. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, instalasi PJU-TS, serta edukasi teknis kepada masyarakat. Sistem yang digunakan terdiri dari lampu LED berdaya 1500W dengan 288 chip, panel surya monocrystalline 50Wp, baterai lithium 12V/24Ah, dan sensor otomatis (LDR). Panel surya yang digunakan mampu menghasilkan energi yang terbarukan dan memerlukan proses perawatan berkala, seperti pembersihan debu serta pengecekan koneksi panel dan baterai untuk menjaga efisiensi konversi energi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 17 April 2025 dengan melibatkan warga serta Ketua RT setempat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sistem PJU-TS berfungsi dengan baik, memberikan pencahayaan selama ±11 jam per malam dengan radius penerangan mencapai ±15 meter. Respons masyarakat sangat positif terhadap penggunaan energi surya yang dinilai lebih efisien dan ramah lingkungan. Keberhasilan program ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi tepat guna berbasis energi hijau dapat menjadi solusi alternatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat desa serta mendukung pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya pada poin energi bersih dan terjangkau. Replikasi program serupa direkomendasikan untuk wilayah lain yang memiliki permasalahan sejenis. Abstract The utilization of renewable energy represents a strategic step in supporting the transition toward sustainable energy systems, particularly in rural areas that are not yet fully reached by conventional electricity infrastructure. This community service activity aims to implement an innovative Solar-Powered Street Lighting (PJU-TS) system as a green energy-based lighting solution in Surokonto Wetan Village, Pageruyung District, Kendal Regency. The main issue faced by the local community is the lack of environmental street lighting, which affects safety, nighttime activities, and residents' sense of security. The implementation methods included needs identification, system design, PJU-TS installation, and technical education for the community. The installed system consists of 1500W LED lights with 288 chips, a 50Wp monocrystalline solar panel, a 12V/24Ah lithium battery, and an automatic light sensor (LDR). The solar panel used generates renewable energy and requires periodic maintenance, such as dust cleaning and checking panel-battery connections to maintain energy conversion efficiency. The activity was conducted on April 17, 2025, involving local residents and the neighborhood chief. The results indicate that the PJU-TS system operated effectively, providing lighting for approximately 11 hours per night with a coverage radius of around 15 meters. Community responses were highly positive, as solar energy is perceived to be more efficient and environmentally friendly. This program also enhanced public awareness of renewable energy technologies. The success of this initiative demonstrates that the application of appropriate green energy technologies can be an alternative solution to improve the quality of rural life while contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. Penerapan sistem irigasi cerdas berbasis IoT dan tenaga surya untuk meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian di Desa Sidomulyo Kabupaten Langkat
AbstrakDesa Sidomulyo Kecamatan Binjai Kabupaten Langkat Provinsi Sumatera Utara menghadapi permasalahan rendahnya efisiensi sistem irigasi akibat dominasi penggunaan metode manual dan pompa berbahan bakar diesel yang menyebabkan tingginya biaya operasional serta menurunnya produktivitas lahan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan produktivitas pertanian melalui penerapan sistem irigasi cerdas berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dan tenaga surya. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Kelompok Tani “Gapoktan Mulia Tani” dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 20 petani aktif. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup sosialisasi teknologi, pelatihan praktikum penggunaan sistem, instalasi perangkat irigasi otomatis, serta pendampingan teknis selama masa implementasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan, kuesioner, dan perbandingan data sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan hasil panen sebesar 31% (dari 4,2 menjadi 5,5 ton per hektar), efisiensi biaya operasional sebesar 60% (dari Rp250.000 menjadi Rp100.000 per musim), serta penghapusan total penggunaan BBM. Selain itu, sebanyak 90% petani menyatakan mampu mengoperasikan dan merawat sistem secara mandiri. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi terbarukan ke dalam praktik pertanian desa dan mendukung pencapaian SDGs bidang pangan, energi bersih, dan iklim. AbstractSidomulyo Village faces low irrigation efficiency due to the widespread use of manual methods and diesel pumps, resulting in high operational costs and reduced land productivity. This community service activity aims to improve agricultural efficiency and productivity through the implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart irrigation system powered by solar energy. The partner involved was the “Gapoktan Mulia Tani” farmer group, with 20 active farmers participating. The method included technology socialization, hands-on system operation training, device installation, and technical mentoring during the implementation phase. Evaluation was carried out through field observation, questionnaires, and pre-post implementation data comparison. The program resulted in a 31% increase in crop yields (from 4.2 to 5.5 tons/ha), a 60% reduction in irrigation costs (from Rp250,000 to Rp100,000 per season), and total elimination of fossil fuel usage. Additionally, 90% of farmers reported being able to independently operate and maintain the system. This program effectively integrates renewable technology into village farming practices and supports SDGs in food security, clean energy, and climate action. Pelatihan disiplin positif bagi guru SMP untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan empatik : dari hukuman ke pemahaman
Abstrak Penerapan pendekatan disiplin yang bersifat menghukum masih banyak ditemukan dalam praktik pengelolaan kelas, meskipun pendekatan tersebut sering kali menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap hubungan guru dan siswa serta tidak efektif dalam jangka panjang. Oleh karena itu, disiplin positif menjadi alternatif yang relevan untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mendidik, aman, dan menghargai martabat peserta didik. Pelatihan disiplin positif merupakan upaya strategis dalam mendukung terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang aman, empatik, dan mendidik. Kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui pemaparan konsep, studi kasus, diskusi kelompok, serta evaluasi sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan (pre-test dan post-test). Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman guru mengenai perbedaan antara hukuman dan disiplin positif, pentingnya menyusun kesepakatan kelas bersama siswa, serta penerapan konsekuensi logis yang mendidik. Guru juga mulai memahami pentingnya komunikasi yang empatik dan konsisten sebagai landasan hubungan yang sehat dengan siswa. Refleksi dari para peserta menunjukkan adanya perubahan paradigma dari pendekatan otoriter menuju pola pembinaan yang lebih dialogis dan partisipatif. Pelatihan ini menjadi titik awal yang penting dalam membangun budaya sekolah yang lebih manusiawi dan mendukung perkembangan karakter siswa secara holistik. Kata kunci: disiplin positif; pelatihan guru; lingkungan belajar inklusif; komunikasi empatik; pendidikan karakter Abstract Punitive disciplinary measures are still widely used in classroom management practices, despite the fact that they frequently harm teacher-student relationships and are unproductive in the long run. As a result, positive discipline becomes an important alternative for creating an instructive, safe, and dignified learning environment for pupils. Positive disciplinary training is a systematic endeavor to help create a secure, sympathetic, and informative learning environment. The training activities included idea presentations, case studies, group discussions, and evaluations both before and after the training. The findings reveal a significant improvement in instructors' comprehension of the distinction between punishment and positive discipline, the significance of reaching class agreements with students, and the use of educational logical consequences. Teachers are increasingly starting to see the need of compassionate and regular communication as the cornerstone for a strong connection with pupils. The participants' reflections show a paradigm shift from an authoritarian approach to a more dialogic and participative mentoring model. This training is a vital first step toward developing a more humane school culture and supporting children' overall character development. Digitalisasi layanan administratif warga melalui repositori dokumen di lingkungan Santo Stefanus Cinere
Abstrak Pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus pada digitalisasi layanan administratif warga di lingkungan Santo stefanus cinere melalui pengembangan repositori dokumen. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membangun sistem repositori digital ini sehingga dapat mengatasi kesulitan dalam pengelolaan dokumen administratif, meningkatkan efisiensi kerja dan kecepatan akses dokumen, mendukung kegiatan pelayanan yang lebih tertata dan tepat waktu, mengurangi risiko kehilangan atau kerusakan dokumen fisik, mendorong transformasi digital dalam layanan lingkungan warga Santo Stefanus Cinere. Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode partisipatif yang berisikan rangkaian tahapan mulai sosialisasi, penerapan teknologi, pelatihan dan pendampingan serta kebrelanjutan program yang digunakan untuk memastikan keterlibatan aktif dan keberlanjutan program. Hasil yang dicapai berdasarkan hasil evaluasi indeks persentase pemahaman dan penerimaan peserta terhadap penggunaan repositori digital mencapai 83,4%, secara keseluruhan pengabdian ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan repositori digital secara efektif meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan publik dan memberikan dampak positif bagi warga. This activity aims to develop a digital respository system to address challenges in managing administrative documents, improve work efficiency nd documents access speed, support more organized and timely services, reduces loss risk or physical documents damage and promote digital transformation in the services provided to the Santo Stefanus Cinere Community. This community service utilizes a participatory method that includes a series of stages, starting from socialization, technology implementation, training, and mentoring, as well as program sustainability, which are employed to ensure active participation and program sustainability. The results achieved, based on the evaluation index of participants' understanding and acceptance of the digital repository's usage, reached 83.4%. Overall, this community service demonstrates that the implementation of a digital repository effectively improves the quality of public services and provides a positive impact for the residents. Pendampingan bahasa inggris berbasis e-learning bagi anggota POKDARWIS Desa Medana Kecamatan Tanjung Kabupaten Lombok Utara
Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris anggota Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) Sejahtera di Desa Medana, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya penguasaan bahasa Inggris fungsional anggota Pokdarwis dalam melayani wisatawan asing. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, tim pelaksana merancang pelatihan bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dengan pendekatan komunikatif yang kontekstual dan praktis. Pelatihan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan meliputi observasi kebutuhan dan penyusunan modul pembelajaran. Tahap pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan metode blended learning melalui sesi tatap muka dan daring menggunakan Google Classroom dan WhatsApp. Peserta dilibatkan secara aktif dalam kegiatan simulasi, diskusi, dan praktik langsung. Evaluasi program dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner Likert kepada seluruh peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris peserta, terutama dalam konteks pariwisata. Selain itu, pelatihan juga meningkatkan motivasi peserta untuk terus belajar secara mandiri. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan bahasa Inggris berbasis e-learning dapat menjadi alternatif solusi pembelajaran di daerah wisata pedesaan. Abstract This community service activity aims to improve the English communication skills of members of the Sejahtera Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in Medana Village, North Lombok Regency. This activity was motivated by the low level of functional English proficiency among Pokdarwis members in serving foreign tourists. To address this issue, the implementation team designed an e-learning-based English language training program using a communicative, contextual, and practical approach. The training was conducted in three phases: preparation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The preparation phase involved needs assessment and the development of learning modules. The implementation phase was carried out using a blended learning method, combining face-to-face sessions and online sessions via Google Classroom and WhatsApp. Participants were actively involved in simulations, discussions, and hands-on practice. Program evaluation was conducted through the distribution of Likert questionnaires to all participants. Evaluation results indicated that the training was effective in improving participants' English language skills, particularly in the context of tourism. Additionally, the training enhanced participants' motivation to continue learning independently. These findings suggest that e-learning-based English language training can serve as an alternative solution for education in rural tourist areas. Empowerment of female fishermen in Tanggul Jaya Village, Serang Banten in making organic bar soap based on sea salt and ecoenzyme
Tanggul Indah Village is a village located Banten Village, Kasemen District, which is not far from the main city of Serang. This village is a coastal area with the majority of its people working as fishermen. The initial issue arose due to the use of cleaning agents such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) soap which can have a negative impact on the environment. In addition, another problem is the large amount of unprocessed organic waste in the village environment. So that a community service program was carried out which aims to empower groups of women fishermen in Tanggul Indah Village through training in making organic soap based on sea salt and ecoenzyme with specific objectives to be achieved including a) management of household waste that can be used as ecoenzyme as a basic ingredient in making organic soap; b) training in making organic bar soap. The implementation method is carried out through stages, namely a) management of organic waste into ecoenzyme products; b) utilization of sea salt as a complementary ingredient in making environmentally friendly organic soap; c) empowerment and training of women fishermen in making organic bar soap. This training has gone well and received a positive response from the service participants. The active participation of each fisherwoman in every stage of the activity reflects the high enthusiasm and concern for environmental issues
Merancang pembelajaran inklusif yang bermakna melalui backward design
Abstrak Kesulitan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang inklusif dan bermakna menjadi tantangan utama dalam implementasi kurikulum. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru di SDN Inpres Skouw Mabo dalam merancang pembelajaran inklusif melalui pendekatan Backward Design. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei dan Juli 2025 dengan 11 guru mitra sasaran yang dilibatkan secara penuh dalam kegiatan dengan metode partisipatif, mengkombinasikan pelatihan, lokakarya, dan pendampingan. Evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan dampak yang sangat positif. Secara kuantitatif, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman konseptual guru secara signifikan, yang ditandai dengan kenaikan skor rata-rata dari 44,5% pada pre-test menjadi 80% pada post-test. Secara kualitatif, para guru menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan praktik dengan mampu menghasilkan draf modul ajar yang sistematis dan koheren, di mana sebagian besar hasil rancangan terkategori "Baik" hingga "Baik Sekali". Kegiatan ini berhasil mentransformasi pengetahuan teoritis menjadi keterampilan praktis yang siap diimplementasikan untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih inklusif dan bermakna bagi semua siswa. Abstract The difficulty for teachers in designing inclusive and meaningful learning has become a major challenge in curriculum implementation. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of teachers at SDN Inpres Skouw Mabo in designing inclusive learning through the Backward Design approach. This activity was carried out in May and July 2025 with 11 target partner teachers who were fully involved in the activities using a participatory method, combining training, workshops, and mentoring. The evaluation of the activity showed a very positive impact. Quantitatively, there was a significant increase in teachers' conceptual understanding, marked by an increase in the average score from 44.5% on the pre-test to 80% on the post-test. Qualitatively, the teachers showed an increase in practical skills by being able to produce a systematic and coherent draft of teaching modules, where most of the design results were categorized as "Good" to "Very Good". This activity successfully transformed theoretical knowledge into practical skills ready to be implemented to create a more inclusive and meaningful learning experience for all students. Pendampingan pengelolaan dana sosial masjid muhammadiyah untuk meningkatkan transparansi dan akuntabilitas keuangan
Abstrak Masjid memiliki peran strategis dalam pengelolaan dana sosial umat, namun masih banyak masjid yang menghadapi tantangan dalam hal pencatatan dan pelaporan keuangan yang akuntabel. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pengurus masjid Muhammadiyah dalam mengelola dana zakat, infaq, dan shodaqah secara transparan melalui metode pendampingan langsung. Empat masjid di wilayah Surabaya menjadi mitra kegiatan ini yakni masjid Baiturrahman, masjid Baiturrahim, Masjid Syaifunnur dan Masjid Sholihin. Pendekatan yang digunakan meliputi identifikasi masalah, sosialisasi di lapangan, pendampingan teknis pencatatan dan pelaporan, hingga publikasi laporan kepada jamaah. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keteraturan pencatatan, penyusunan laporan keuangan, serta partisipasi jamaah terhadap dana sosial. Pengurus masjid yang semula tidak memiliki sistem pencatatan mulai menerapkan praktik keuangan sederhana yang tertib dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Metode pendampingan langsung terbukti efektif dalam konteks masjid dengan keterbatasan sumber daya manusia dan teknologi. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam memperkuat tata kelola dana sosial dan mendorong peran masjid sebagai pilar pemberdayaan ekonomi umat. Abstract Mosques have a strategic role in managing the social funds of the people, but there are still many mosques that face challenges in terms of accountable financial recording and reporting. This service activity aims to increase the capacity of Muhammadiyah mosque administrators in managing zakat, infaq, and shodaqah funds transparently through direct mentoring methods. Four mosques in the Surabaya area are partners in this activity, namely the Baiturrahman mosque, the Baiturrahim mosque, the Syaifunnur Mosque and the Sholihin Mosque. The approach used includes problem identification, socialization in the field, technical assistance in recording and reporting, and publication of reports to pilgrims. The results showed a significant increase in the regularity of recording, preparation of financial statements, and the participation of pilgrims in social funds. Mosque administrators, who originally did not have a recording system, began to implement simple financial practices that were orderly and accountable. The direct mentoring method has proven to be effective in the context of mosques with limited human resources and technology. This activity makes a real contribution in strengthening the governance of social funds and encouraging the role of mosques as a pillar of economic empowerment of the people. Hilirisasi bisnis budidaya ikan lele pada umkm “makmur berjaya”: edukasi dan pelatihan pengolahan abon lele
AbstrakUMKM memiliki peran strategis dalam pengembangan ekonomi lokal, termasuk sektor perikanan yang berpotensi memberikan nilai tambah melalui inovasi produk olahan. UMKM “Makmur Berjaya” di Desa Tampang Awang, Kecamatan Tatah Makmur, Kabupaten Banjar merupakan usaha budidaya ikan lele yang menghadapi tantangan rendahnya nilai jual produk segar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam hilirisasi budidaya ikan lele menjadi produk olahan abon berbasis teknologi tepat guna. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam dua tahap, yaitu edukasi dan pelatihan demonstrasi. Peserta berjumlah 10 orang, terdiri dari pemilik dan tenaga kerja UMKM. Evaluasi pengetahuan dilakukan dengan metode pre-test dan post-test menggunakan instrumen kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis peningkatan pengetahuan menggunakan N-Gain Score dan uji beda berpasangan (paired t-test). Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan peserta. Sebelum intervensi, mayoritas peserta (70%) berada pada kategori pengetahuan rendah, sedangkan setelah edukasi sebanyak 60% peserta mencapai kategori baik. Nilai N-Gain Score sebesar 71,50% menunjukkan efektivitas edukasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman peserta. Uji paired t-test menghasilkan selisih skor rata-rata sebesar 28,00 dengan p-value 0,000 (<0,05), yang membuktikan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara nilai pre-test dan post-test. Selain itu, pelatihan pengolahan abon lele mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta pada setiap tahapan produksi, sehingga keterampilan teknis mereka semakin terasah. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa edukasi yang dikombinasikan dengan praktik langsung terbukti efektif meningkatkan kapasitas UMKM dalam inovasi produk berbasis perikanan, sekaligus membuka peluang peningkatan daya saing dan keberlanjutan usaha. AbstractMicro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in strengthening the local economy, including the fisheries sector, which has great potential to generate added value through product innovation. “Makmur Berjaya” MSME in Tampang Awang Village, Tatah Makmur District, Banjar Regency, is a catfish farming business facing challenges of low profit margins from selling fresh products. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of MSME members in the downstream process of catfish farming into shredded catfish products using appropriate technology. The program was carried out in two stages: education and hands-on training through demonstration. A total of 10 participants, consisting of the owner and workers, were involved. Knowledge evaluation was conducted using pre-test and post-test questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain Score and paired t-test to measure improvement. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge. Prior to the intervention, 70% of participants were in the low knowledge category, whereas after the education session, 60% achieved the good category. The N-Gain Score of 71.50% reflected the effectiveness of the education in enhancing understanding. The paired t-test showed a mean score difference of 28.00 with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), confirming a statistically significant improvement. Moreover, the training activity encouraged participants’ active involvement in every production stage, thereby strengthening their technical skills. Edukasi pemanfaatan limbah cangkang rajungan menjadi pengawet alami pada kelompok nelayan "Mappedeceng"
Abstrak Limbah cangkang rajungan yang mencapai 40-60% dari total bobot rajungan selama ini hanya dibuang ke lingkungan sehingga menimbulkan pencemaran di daerah pesisir. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi dan pelatihan kepada kelompok nelayan "Mappedeceng" di Desa Lasitae, Kecamatan Tanete Rilau, Kabupaten Barru tentang pemanfaatan limbah cangkang rajungan menjadi kitosan sebagai pengawet alami. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan (penyuluhan, pelatihan teknologi pengolahan, dan praktik langsung), serta evaluasi melalui pre-post test. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 9 Agustus 2025 dengan melibatkan 40 peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta sebesar 38,75% berdasarkan perbandingan skor pre-test (rata-rata 10,575) dan post-test (rata-rata 18,325). Kegiatan praktik pembuatan pengawet alami menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta, dengan mayoritas merasa percaya diri menerapkan teknologi ini di rumah. Kitosan yang dihasilkan terbukti dapat memperpanjang masa simpan produk perikanan hingga 2-3 kali lipat dan memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi sekitar Rp 75.000-100.000 per kilogram. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran nelayan tentang pentingnya ekonomi sirkular dalam perikanan dan memberikan solusi berkelanjutan untuk mengatasi masalah limbah cangkang rajungan sekaligus menciptakan peluang ekonomi baru bagi masyarakat pesisir. Abstract Crab shell waste, which accounts for 40-60% of the total weight of crabs, is often dumped into the environment, causing pollution in coastal areas. This community service activity aims to provide education and training to the "Mappedeceng" fishing group in Lasitae Village, Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency, on the utilization of crab shell waste into chitosan as a natural preservative. The implementation method consists of three stages: preparation, implementation (counseling, processing technology training, and direct practice), and evaluation through a pre-post test. The activity was carried out on August 9, 2025, involving 40 participants. The evaluation results showed an increase in participant knowledge of 38.75% based on a comparison of pre-test scores (average 10.575) and post-test (average 18.325). The practical activity of making natural preservatives showed high enthusiasm from the participants, with the majority feeling confident in applying this technology at home. The resulting chitosan has been proven to extend the shelf life of fishery products by two to three times and has a high economic value of around IDR 75,000-100,000 per kilogram. This program has successfully raised awareness among fishermen about the importance of a circular economy in fisheries and provided a sustainable solution to address the problem of crab shell waste while creating new economic opportunities for coastal communities.
