The discussion between virginity and marriage in Espejo de ilustres y perfectas señoras
Get PDFEste artículo analiza uno de los debates que surgen dentro del "Espejo de ilustres y perfectas señoras", obra escrita a finales del siglo XVII por el dramaturgo José Rojo. Para este texto, y de manera excepcional en el conjunto de su producción literaria, el autor conquense se sirve de la forma del diálogo para abordar un tema aún en boga en su momento: la educación de las mujeres y el perfeccionamiento de las esposas. Por ende, una de las enseñanzas más importantes que el padre (interlocutor protagonista) pretende inculcar a su hija (también interlocutora) es el valor del matrimonio, razón que ella no comparte en tanto que posee vocación religiosa y desea permanecer virgen. Este trabajo abundará en los argumentos que una y otra parte emplean, a lo largo de las conversaciones, para defender cuál es el estado más loable en las señoras, motivos que, a su vez, combinarán con sus propios intereses personales, generando así una disputa entre el estado virginal y el de esposa.This article analyses one of the discussions that appears in "Espejo

José Rojo. In this piece, and in an exceptional way in his literary production,
the author from Cuenca made use of the form of dialogue to explore a topic
that was still very much on the rise at the time: the education of women and
the improvement of wives. Consequently, one of the most important doctrines that the father (protagonist interlocutor) intends to instil in his daughter (also
interlocutor) is the value of marriage, a position she does not share; she has a
religious vocation and, therefore, she wishes to remain a virgin. This paper will
focus on the arguments that both interlocutors put forward to defend what, in
their opinion, is the most laudable state of the ladies. Moreover, these motives
will be combined with the personal motivations of the figures in the conversation, thus generating a contest between the virginal and the wifely state.Humanidade
Alternative donor transplantation for severe aplastic anemia: a comparative study of the SAAWP EBMT
Get PDFSelecting the most suitable alternative donor becomes challenging in severe aplastic anemia (SAA) when a matched sibling donor (MSD) is unavailable. We compared outcomes in patients with SAA undergoing stem cell transplantation (SCT) from matched unrelated donors (MUD) (n = 1106), mismatched unrelated donors (MMUD) (n = 340), and haploidentical donors (Haplo) (n = 206) registered in the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation database (2012-2021). For Haplo SCT, only those receiving posttransplant cyclophosphamide for graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis were included. Median age was 20 years, and the median time from diagnosis to transplantation 8.7 months. Compared with MUD, MMUD (hazard ratio [HR], 2.93; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.52-5.6) and Haplo (HR, 5.15; 95% CI, 2.5-10.58) showed significantly higher risks of primary graft failure. MUD had lower rates of acute GVHD compared with MMUD and Haplo (grade 2-4: 13%, 22%, and 19%, respectively; P < .001; grade 3-4: 5%, 9%, and 7%, respectively; P = .028). The 3-year nonrelapse mortality rate was 14% for MUD, 19% for MMUD, and 27% for Haplo (P < .001), whereas overall survival and GVHD and relapse-free survival (GRFS) rates were 81% and 73% for MUD, 74% and 65% for MMUD, and 63% and 54% for Haplo, respectively (P < .001). In addition to donor type, multivariable analysis identified other factors associated with GRFS such as patient age, performance status, and interval between diagnosis and transplantation. For patients with SAA lacking an MSD, our findings support MUDs as the preferable alternative donor option. However, selecting between an MMUD and Haplo donor remains uncertain and requires further exploration.Medicin
Parenting Stress in Autistic and ADHD Children: Implications of Social Support and Child Characteristics
Get PDFHigh levels of parenting stress have been detected in mothers of children with Autism (ASD) and children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) comparing with mothers of typically developing (TD) children. The current study explored the implications of social support (confidant and affective support) and child characteristics (emotional, behavioral and sleep problems) on parenting stress in ASD and ADHD. Furthermore, the differences between mothers of children with autism, ADHD and TD on the studied variables were examined.A total of 120 mothers of 30 TD children, 47 with ASD without intellectual disability and 43 with ADHD collaborated in the study. Significant differences were found between clinical and TD groups in parenting stress, social support, and child characteristics.Correlation analysis in the group with ADHD revealed that parental stress correlated significantly with social support and with children’s emotional problems. In the ASD group, parental stress also correlated significantly with children’s sleep and behavioral problems. El amor como un juego: La experiencia de la Triada Oscura de la Personalidad
Get PDFLas relaciones interpersonales constituyen un elemento fundamental en la vida de todo ser humano, siendo el primer paso para establecer vínculos afectivos y conexiones emocionales. En este contexto, el amor destaca como un constructo ampliamente estudiado. Sin embargo, la literatura científica se torna notablemente escasa al abordar el estudio del amor en contextos que involucran personalidades marcadas por rasgos psicopáticos, narcisistas y maquiavélicos, los cuales se manifiestan a través de comportamientos manipulativos, malévolos y disruptivos, orientados a sentimientos de grandiosidad y frialdad emocional.
En esta línea, la presente investigaciones propone indagar sobre cómo experimentan el amor, si esque lo hacen, los individuos con rasgos pertenecientes a la Triada Oscura de la Personalidad. Para ello, se ha buscado establecer una conexión entre las dimensiones de dicha triada y los diferentes estilos y componentes del amor. Los resultados obtenidos revelan que las relaciones románticas de individuos con elevadas puntuaciones en rasgos psicopáticos, maquiavélicos y narcisistas carecen por completo de intimidad y compromiso, centrando sus intereses en relaciones efímeras asentadas en un placer egoísta, donde la escasa inversión emocional se alinea con un estilo de amor fundamentado en una dinámica de juego.Interpersonal relationships constitute a fundamental element in the daily life of every human being, serving as the initial step to establish emotional bonds and connections. In this regard, love stands out as a widely studied construct. However, scientific literature becomes remarkably limited when addressing the study of love in contexts involving personalities marked by psychopathic, narcissistic, and machiavellian traits, which manifest through manipulative, malevolent, and disruptive behaviours, oriented towards feelings of grandiosity and emotional coldness.
Along these lines, the present research aims to investigate how individuals with traits belonging to the Dark Triad of Personality experience love, if at all. To achieve this, a connection has been made between the dimensions of this triad and the different styles and components of love. The results obtained reveal that romantic relationships involving individuals with high levels of psychopathic, machiavellian, and narcissistic traits lack intimacy and commitment. Their interests are focused on short-lived relationships ingrained in selfish pleasure, where little emotional investment aligns with a love style based on a game-like dynamic.Psicologí

La ciencia ficción revisada: el gótico posthumano en Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams
Get PDFIn this essay, I analyse two episodes from the recent television series, Philip K. Dick’s Electric
Dreams. I contend that, by adapting Philip K. Dick’s short stories from the 1950s for
the screen, the creators of “Impossible Planet” and “The Commuter” offer an important
new perspective from which to appreciate the value of his early fiction, which is too often
dismissed by critics as juvenilia. Moreover, by re-visioning Dick’s work as posthuman
Gothic narratives, the episodes refract long-standing Gothic anxieties about alterity and
(post)human existence through a lens that is more often associated with science fiction.
This hybridization is instrumental to Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’ interrogation of the
paradigmatic binaries between life/death, interiority/exteriority and reality/virtuality. In my
analysis, I use Rosi Braidotti’s theory of posthuman death, as well as Roger Luckhurst’s
concept of Weird zones, to illuminate how Electric Dreams explores some of the existential
issues that arise from human-technological imbrication.En este ensayo analizo dos episodios de la reciente serie de televisión Philip K. Dick’s Electric
Dreams. Sostengo que, al adaptar los cuentos de Philip K. Dick de la década de 1950 para
la pantalla, los creadores de “Impossible Planet” y “The Commuter” ofrecen una visión nueva e importante, a través de la cual podemos apreciar el valor de su primera ficción,
que es a menudo descartada por los críticos como juvenil. Además, al revisar el trabajo
de Dick en calidad de narraciones góticas poshumanas, los episodios reflejan prolongadas
ansiedades góticas sobre la alteridad y la existencia (pos)humana a través de una visión
que se asocia más frecuentemente con la ciencia ficción. Esta hibridación es fundamental
para el cuestionamiento que Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams lleva a cabo de las dicotomías
paradigmáticas entre vida/muerte, interioridad/exterioridad y realidad/virtualidad. En mi
análisis utilizo la teoría de la muerte poshumana de Rosi Braidotti, así como el concepto
de zonas extrañas de Roger Luckhurst, para aclarar el modo en que Electric Dreams explora

El profesorado como clave del bienestar del niño/a con dislexia: un estudio piloto desde la teoría de la acción planeada (TAP)
Get PDFLa escuela es un entorno primordial para identificar posibles dificultades en los niños/as, y entre ellos, los docentes son los que desempeñan el importante papel de implementar adaptaciones en el aula para compensar estas desigualdades. La dislexia, caracterizada por ser una dificultad de aprendizaje de la lectura y escritura, es una de las dificultades escolares que se beneficia de la adaptación de medidas en el aula, sin embargo, se observa que diversos factores influyen en la capacidad de los docentes para llevar a cabo estas adaptaciones de manera efectiva. La falta de medidas adecuadas puede afectar negativamente en el bienestar emocional de los estudiantes, impactando en su autoestima y auto concepto.
El objetivo del estudio es investigar las razones que explican por qué los docentes adoptan o no adoptan medidas específicas para alumnos/as con dislexia, utilizando la Teoría de la Acción Planeada (TAP) como marco teórico. Para ello, se desarrolló una encuesta basada en esta teoría y se administró a una muestra de 27 participantes mediante el método de bola de nieve.
Los resultados revelan que la percepción de control es la variable más significativa en relación con la adopción de medidas. Además, se encuentran diferencias significativas según la etapa educativa, edad, años de experiencia y sexo de los docentes. Se identifica que medidas como los exámenes orales, la transmisión de información en diferentes formatos (auditivo y visual), el uso de procesadores de texto y la entrega de tareas en formatos alternativos son menos adoptadas.
Se destaca la importancia de la detección temprana de la dislexia en el ámbito escolar como primer paso para implementar intervenciones efectivas. La capacidad de los docentes para identificar signos de dislexia juega un papel crucial en mejorar el acceso a las herramientas de apoyo necesarias y, por ende, en el bienestar emocional de los estudiantes con esta dificultad.Psicologí
