Well-Being: General Policy Considerations
The well-being approach expands the set of instruments policy makers have at their disposal; public policy is enhanced and precision is gained in attaining the final goal of increasing people’s well-being. This implies a more efficient use of the scarce public resources
In a highly competitive market, with rigorous health demands and high quality expectations,
companies in the catering sector can differentiate themselves by certifying their food safety
management systems.
Throughout the development of this project, the design of a food safety management
system based on the UNE-EN-ISO 22000:2018 standard has been carried out in a fictitious
catering organization with home delivery services.
To achieve this goal, an initial diagnosis was carried out to compare the initial situation with
the requirements of the standard. Once the non-conformities were identified, the required
documentation was generated including the process map, context and stakeholder analysis,
scope, policy, risk and opportunity assessment, objectives and procedures (supplier
assessment and internal audit).
Additionally, in a conjunction with a comprehensive corrective action plan, this project
provides the opportunity to learn about available tools for an objective evaluation of the
food safety culture.
Finally, the execution of the proposed implementation phases will improve food safety
performance and prepare the organization for the certification process.

The present Master's Thesis addresses the ethnic and cultural diversity in Colombia and the
challenges faced in embracing this diversity, particularly in educational environments. The
focus of this work is the creation of an innovative pedagogical tool to enhance the school
climate in a formal educational institution in Bogotá. The proposal aims to transform
educational spaces into positive environments that celebrate and respect diversity through
the National Reading, Writing, and Orality Program (PNLEO). This government initiative
promoting literacy practices becomes the means through which students can express their
emotions, feelings, and experiences by creating, editing, and publishing texts. The program
also aims to improve academic performance, especially in the language subject, by initially
generating motivation and a desire to learn. The program expected to mitigate problems,
transforming the realities of students in the researched educational institution. The research
emphasizes the urgent need for meaningful interventions and underscores the importance of
inclusive education, interculturality, ethnic and cultural diversity, educational equity, and a
positive school climate.
The intervention proposal arises from the interest in creating a space where those families
who are in need or present more difficulties in aspects related to early care services, can
express their doubts and experiences, and respond to them.
To this end, a theoretical framework has been used in which the changes in relationship
models in parent training that have taken place in recent years have been developed,
moving from a model centered on psychotherapy and directive training, where the family
only received the indications of the professional without participating, to a model based on
equal collaboration between the professional and the family, taking into account their
needs.
Therefore, the creation of mutual support groups is proposed as a strategy with the aim of
enabling the family and favouring their empowerment, through the accompaniment and the
guiding role that the professional of reference will have. To achieve this, a series of sessions
have been designed, divided into different themes based on the needs and priorities to be
worked on with the families, in which an attempt will be made to respond to them, and at
the same time, to favour family training and empowerment.
Finally, and in relation to the conclusions, the imminent change of paradigm in the field of
early care services is early intervention, as more and more professionals are deciding to opt
for a methodology in which the family plays the main role, giving it the importance it
deserves, as it is the main provider of learning opportunities for children.
Restoration Techniques Applied in Open Mining Area to Improve Agricultural Soil Fertility
Open pit mining causes damage in natural and rural regions; that is why soil restoration is necessary in order to recovery soil–plant systems. The application of waste can be a good solution for rehabilitation, and it clearly complies with the circular economy and the zero-waste strategy. This study was carried out in a quarry restoration area in the southeast of Spain, where experimental plots were designed and fertilized with different amendments (commonly used inorganic fertilizer N-K-P, pig slurry, pruning waste and urban solid wastes) with the objective of studying ways to improve the restoration of the soil by using these residues and increase the soil fertility before planting. The treatments applied were evaluated in the short term (two and four months from their addition to topsoil) and medium term (nine months) in order to determine if the restored soils will be adequate for agriculture based on nutrients’ availability. The results showed that in all the treatments, the pH exceeded 8.5 due to the nature of the soil matrix, but after 9 months of the application, in the plots treated with NPK and pig slurry, the pH decreased. In general, with the application of the treatments, soil macro- (N, P, K, Na, Ca and Mg) and micro-nutrients (Fe and Cu) were increased. However, pig slurry and urban solid waste favored N and P, respectively
In the context of the high digitization of childhood, advertising on social networks becomes an ideal
location for brands and advertisers to meet this audience profile. However, in the debate, no space
has been given to how boys and girls perceive these advertising strategies. Therefore, this work aims to
qualitatively explore the discourses related to the experience of using TikTok with a focus on advertising.
For this, 32 in-depth interviews were conducted with minors between 11 and 14 years old who are users of
this platform in Santiago, Chile. The results indicate that the platform is perceived as an entertainment
space, especially for the segment of children and young people. Regarding advertising, the participants agree that, although it may be intrusive and not necessarily appropriate to their interests, if it complies with the rules of the application -brief, with humor, and music- it is tolerated and even welcomed by its users. However, this does not happen when there is a covert, deceptive or repetitive advertising intent. Added to these elements is their control over the advertisement and the possibility of interaction with the brand.

Finally, this work concludes that ChatGPT is having a significant impact on the publishing world, from both the creation and distribution of content, so the appropriate balance between the use of AI and human intervention will continue to be essential to maintain a diverse and creative publishing industry
Enhancing Educational and Tourism Applications through Predictive Modeling of Cultural Heritage Site Visitation: use of Arima and autoregressive models
This study focuses on the use of ARIMA and Autoregressive (AR) models to predict visitor flow to Civil War shelters in Alicante, highlighting seasonal patterns and differences among various visitor groups, with an enriching approach towards educational and tourism applications. Through a retrospective longitudinal design covering from August 2023 to January 2024, it analyzes the time series of visits, differentiating between the general public and school groups, as well as examining geographical demand. The research emphasizes the effectiveness and simplicity of the ARIMA(0, 0, 0) model with Logarithmic Transformation in modeling time series, while the AR(6) model proves indispensable for capturing short-term temporal dependencies. Despite the usefulness of these forecasts for future planning, the existence of uncertainties highlights the importance of adopting flexible management approaches and incorporating additional variables to refine predictions. This approach not only improves the management of visitor flows but also significantly contributes to the creation of more effective educational and tourism strategies, promoting the sustainability and appreciation of cultural heritage
Effective learning in the bilingual natural science Primary classroom? A case study
This investigation is a result of an ongoing collaboration between the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) and a private school for girls situated to the north east of Madrid. The purpose of the collaboration was to improve the functioning of bilingual education in primary through the implementation of Content and Integrated Learning (CLIL). At the time of writing, the project was nearing the end of its third year. Alongside the recent very rapid growth of bilingual education in Spain there has been growing concern regarding the depth of pupils’ learning in content subjects such as natural science. The present chapter attempts to document the experiences and professional developmental of a teaching team in the school’s first year of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). This took place in Madrid as part of an UNIR in-school CLIL training programme. This case study traces the methodologies used in the classroom as devised by the team and presents a compilation of the team’s work carried out over the year. Throughout the academic year, the teaching team used a range of scaffolding techniques that encouraged collaboration, active learning, autonomy and reflection, in an effort to achieve effective learning amongst the 4th year pupils in a bilingual natural science classroom. This article argues that effective learning in the bilingual natural science classroom is achievable, but may require a significant departure from textbook-based teaching methodologies predominant in many classrooms. Furthermore, considerable training, time, planning and departmental support are required
Differences in pornography use and associated factors between religious and non-religious adolescents: A network analysis
Background: Nearly half of children and adolescents aged 9–16 years have access to and may be viewing pornography. An estimated 37.7% of boys and 19.3% of girls may be at risk for developing Problematic Pornography Use (PPU). Religiosity may influence PPU. Regardless of religiosity, PPU in adolescents has been associated with loneliness, sexual risk behaviors, victimization, and gender stereotypes. The main objective of this study was to explore a network structure of pornography-use-related features in religious and non-religious adolescents. Method: In network analyses, two separate networks were defined and tested for self-reported non-religious and religious participants. The set of nodes analyzed included variables measuring reasons for the pornography use, risky sexual behaviors, perceived familial relationships, PPU, sexual double standards, loneliness, and online sexual victimization. Results: Statistically significant sociodemographic differences were observed between religious and non-religious groups of adolescents. The activation of the node “frequency of pornography use” impacted many variables modeled in the network (this node was also impacted by the activation of multiple other nodes). The node with the lowest relevance and linkage capacity in both groups was familial relationships. Conclusions: This study used network analysis to identify differences between religious and non-religious adolescents. The findings suggest possible consequences of adolescent pornography use that should be examined in longitudinal studies
