Kohezyonsuz Zeminlerde Kesme Bant Kalınlığı ve Rölatif Sıkılık Arasındaki İlişki
Bu çalışmada iri daneli zemin üzerinde, kesme kutusu deneyleri yapılarak kesme bant kalınlığı incelenmiştir. Standart kesme kutusu deneyi cihazının boyutları 15 cm x 15 cm x 9 cm olacak şekilde modifiye edilmiştir. Ayrıca, kesme kutusu deney cihazının bir yüzeyinde şeffaf plaka kullanılarak kesmebant kalınlığı bütün kesme aşaması süresince gözlemlenmiştir. Deneyler %30-%50-%80 sıkılık oranlarında ve sabit 54 kPa normal gerilme altında yapılmıştır. Deneyler yüksek çözünürlüklü kamerayla kayıt altına alınarak görüntü işleme yöntemiyle kesme bant kalınlığı belirlenmiştir. Deneylerde geotekstil kullanılarak, zemin-zemin ve zemin-geotekstil ara yüzey kesme durumlarında ortaya çıkan kesme bantları karşılaştırılmıştır. Geotekstil kullanılmadan gerçekleştirilen deneylerde %30, %50 ve %80 sıkılık durumları için sırasıyla kesme bant kalınlıkları 27.1 mm, 26.7 mm ve 25.2 mm bulunmuştur. Geotekstil in ara-yüzeye dahil edilmesiyle birlikte ise sırasıyla %30, %50 ve %80 kalınlıklar için kesme bant kalınlıkları 25.9 mm, 23.2 mm ve 20.2 mm olarak belirlenmiştir. Probabilistische Analyse der englischen Dativkonstruktionen in akademischen Texten von EFL-Lernern
Grammatical patterns in learner writings are among the most investigated topics in second/foreign language acquisition, gaining particular momentum thanks to corpus studies. English dative constructions are among those for which comprehensive literature is also available, consisting of different perspectives to explain the linguistic phenomenon on various theoretical grounds. However, except for rare instances, the foci of interest have constantly been on comparing learner data to native speaker data, particularly in terms of frequency of use in the second/foreign language learning environment. Different from other studies, the current study investigated English dative alternation in learner data with a probabilistic point of view, scrutinizing 27 learner corpora of learners with different L1s. Results showed that differences in learners’ native languages had little added value to variations among learners. Fabrication of carbon black nanoparticles from green algae and sugarcane bagasse
There are several industrial uses for carbon black (CB), an extremely fine powdered form of elemental carbon that is made up of coalesced particle aggregates and almost spherical colloidal particles. Most carbon black is produced from petroleum-derived feedstock, so there is a need to find an alternative method to produce CB, which relies on renewable resources such as algae and agricultural waste. A process involving hydrolysis, carbonization, and pyrolysis of green algae and sugarcane bagasse was developed, as the optimal hydrolysis conditions (16N sulfuric acid, 70 degrees C, 1 h, 1:30 g/ml GA or SC to sulfuric acid ratio), a hydrolysis ratio of 62% for SC and 85% for GA were achieved. The acidic solution was carbonized using a water bath, and the solid carbon was then further pyrolyzed at 900 degrees C. The obtained carbon black has a high carbon content of about 90% which is confirmed by EDX, XRD, and XPS analysis. By comparison carbon black from sugar cane bagasse (CBB) and carbon black from green algae Ulva lactuca (CBG) with commercial carbon black (CCB) it showed the same morphology which was confirmed by SEM analysis. The BET data, showed the high specific surface area of prepared CB, which was 605 (m2/g) for CBB and 424 (m2/g) for CBG compared with commercial carbon black (CBB) was 50 (m2/g), also the mean pore diameter of CBB, CBG and CCB indicated that CBB and CBG were rich in micropores, but CCB was rich in mesoporous according to IUPAC classification. Effects of the relationship of economic growth, financial development and logistics performance on global competitiveness: The case of the European Union and European Union candidate countries
Son dönemlerde sıklıkla yaşanan finansal krizler, pandemi veya doğal afetler gibi önemli olayların ekonomik boyutlarının çok ciddi düzeyde olması nedeniyle finans ve lojistik sektörünün ülke ekonomileri için çok değerli olduğu inancı günden güne artmaktadır. Bu sebeple finansal gelişmişliğin, yükselen bir değer olan lojistik faaliyetlerin ve her zaman etkin olan ekonomik büyümenin küresel rekabet üzerindeki etkilerinin incelenmesi de önem kazanmıştır. Finansal gelişmişlik, ülkelerin veya bölgelerin küresel rekabet düzeyini belirleyen faktörlerden biri olarak, makroekonomik ortam, kurumlar, eğitim kalite ve seviyesi, işgücü ve mal piyasası verimliliği, teknolojik gelişme, iş inovasyonu ve özelleşmesi gibi konularda önemli etkilere sahiptir. Lojistik, üreticileri ve tüketicileri hem yerel hem de küresel pazarlarda bir araya getirerek toplum için yüksek düzeyde verimlilik ve refahın elde edilmesine katkıda bulunur. Ülkelerin küresel rekabet gücü için gelişmiş lojistik performansının önemi, lojistik ve finansal gelişmişlik arasındaki karşılıklı ilişkiden dolayı her geçen gün daha da önem kazanmıştır. Teorik olarak, yüksek düzeydeki finansal gelişmişlik; üretkenliği arttırır, ticareti kolaylaştırır, riski azaltır ve sermaye sağlar. Çalışmada kısmi en küçük kareler yapısal eşitlik modeli ile finansal gelişmişlik değişkeni beş faktör, diğer değişkenler dört faktörle ölçülmüştür. Avrupa Birliği ve Avrupa Birliği Aday Ülkeleri örneklem olarak seçilmiş ve kısmi en küçük kareler yapısal eşitlik modeli ile 2008-2022 yılları arası verileri incelenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda elde edilen bulgular hipotez kısmında önerilen yedi hipotezin beşini desteklemiştir. Buna göre ekonomik büyümeden finansal gelişmişliğe doğru pozitif bir ilişki olduğu hipotezi ve ekonomik büyümeden lojistik performansa doğru pozitif bir ilişki olduğu hipotezi reddedilmiştir. Diğer hipotezlere ilişkin yol analizi sonuçları hipotezleri desteklemektedir. Sonuç olarak değişkenlerin hem bağımsız değişken olarak hem de bağımlı değişken olarak oluşturulan tek bir gizil değişken altında küresel rekabeti anlamlı ve pozitif desteklediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.The belief that the finance and logistics sector is very valuable for national economies is increasing day by day due to the serious economic dimensions of major events such as financial crises, pandemics or natural disasters. For this reason, it has become important to examine the effects of financial development, logistics activities, which are a rising value, and economic growth, which is always effective, on global competition. Financial development, as one of the factors determining the level of global competitiveness of countries or regions, has significant effects on macroeconomic environment, institutions, quality and level of education, labor and goods market efficiency, technological development, business innovation and privatization. Logistics contributes to achieving high levels of productivity and prosperity for society by bringing producers and consumers together in both local and global markets. The importance of improved logistics performance for countries' global competitiveness has become increasingly important due to the interrelationship between logistics and financial development. Theoretically, a high level of financial development increases productivity, facilitates trade, reduces risk and provides capital. In the study, the financial development variable is measured by five factors and other variables are measured by four factors with the partial least squares structural equation model. European Union and European Union Candidate Countries were selected as the sample and the data for the period 2008-2022 were analyzed with the partial least squares structural equation model. The findings of the analysis supported five of the seven hypotheses proposed in the hypothesis section. Accordingly, the hypothesis that there is a positive relationship between economic growth and financial development and the hypothesis that there is a positive relationship between economic growth and logistics performance are rejected. Path analysis results for the other hypotheses support the hypotheses. As a result, it is concluded that the variables significantly and positively support global competition both as independent variables and under a single latent variable created as a dependent variable
The Lifestyle, Current Situation and Problems of Pamir Kyrgyz in the Wakhan Corridor (Afghanistan)
The Wakhan Corridor is a narrow panhandle of valleys and high mountains that stretches eastward from Badakhshan province, following the spring waters of the Amu Darya River to its sources in the Pamir Mountains. As being the most important crossroads of the Silk Road, the corridor was used by Europeans and Chinese as a trade route to reach the Indian Plains via the Arabian Sea Coast. Members of the Kyrgyz community in Afghanistan live in two settlements known as the Lesser and Greater Pamirs in northern Badakhshan Province. The high, open valleys between the Hindu Kush, Karakoram, and Pamir Mountain ranges form what is known as the Pamir Knot. In this study, the life of the Pamir Kyrgyz in the Wakhan Valley, their ethno-cultural characteristics, their current economic situation and their problems are discussed. In the study, document and content analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the Pamir Kyrgyz population has decreased by 6-7% every year, they were deprived of education, health and other opportunities of civilization, and they had a great cultural authenticity and richness that was preserved intact despite the time and political developments in China and Central Asia
Spatio-Temporal Analysis of Yield Estimation of Corn and Sunflower Using Single-Dated Satellite Imagery Between 2014-2016
Multi-temporal satellite images are generally used to calculate yield estimation. However, investigating the feasibility of yield estimation using a single-dated satellite image still needs to be solved today. The benefits of using a single-dated satellite image in yield estimation and optimum timing are among the issues to be considered in future studies. This study developed a parcel-based yield model using a single satellite image for the 2014, 2015, and 2016 years and meteorological data in Kadirli-Osmaniye, T & uuml;rkiye. The SPOT 6&7 satellite images were acquired at an appropriate time of the plant cover (the greenest period of the plant). For four months, photographs and values of plant height are provided weekly from fieldwork to determine crop cover fraction and monitor vegetation development. Regression analysis was performed with 12 vegetation indexes obtained from satellite images and crop cover fractions. In all calculated yield models, the relationship between I.-II.-III. soil classes selected, considering soil maps and yield, are compared. The relative errors of the low-yield fields were calculated between 10% and 35% (according to the yields obtained at harvest time). As a result, it was determined that a single satellite image could model yield estimation of corn and sunflower for each year on fields with an average of 0.10 relative errors.Selcuk University Scientific Research Project [13101032]Selcuk University Scientific Research Project Grant Number 1310103
İsmail Hikmetî’nin Farsça-Türkçe Manzum Sözlüğü: Tuhfe-i Nâdîde
Klasik Türk edebiyatının sahip olduğu renkli zenginliği yansıtan edebî türlerden biri olan ve genel itibarıyla Türkçe dışında farklı bir dilin öğretimini kolaylaştırmak için tanzim edilen manzum sözlük türünde birçok eser kaleme alınmıştır. Bunlardan biri de 18. yüzyıl mutasavvıf şairlerinden İsmail Hikmetî’nin (öl. 1773) Farsça-Türkçe şeklinde kaleme aldığı Tuhfe-i Nâdîde’dir. 1161/1748 yılında telif edilen eserin şimdilik bilinen tek yazma nüshası, Süleymaniye Kütüphanesi Hacı Mahmud Efendi Koleksiyonu 3638 numarada kayıtlıdır. Müellifinin ifadesiyle Farsça-Türkçe manzum sözlüklerin en meşhuru olan Tuhfe-i Şâhidî’de bulunmayan bazı kelimeleri ihtiva eden Tuhfe-i Nâdîde, mensur bir mukaddime ve kelime anlamlarının verildiği beyit sayısı 13 ile 34 arasında değişkenlik gösteren beş kıtʻadan müteşekkildir. Beyit sayısı 99’u bulan kıt‘aların tanziminde herhangi bir tertip hususiyeti gözetilmemiş, kahir ekseri isim kökenli olan 280 civarında Farsça kelime ve ibarenin Türkçe karşılığına yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmada manzum sözlükler hakkında özet mahiyetinde bilgilendirmede bulunulduktan sonra, Tuhfe-i Nâdîde’nin sahip olduğu şekil ve muhteva özelliklerine temas edilmiş ve çeviri yazılı metnine yer verilmiştir
İLKOKULLARDA BESİN SEÇİMİ VE GÜVENLİĞİ ÜZERİNE BİBLİYOMETRİK BİR ANALİZ
This study addresses topics of food choice and food safety in primary schools and examines the research conducted in this field using the bibliometric analysis tool “VOSviewer.” The study highlights the relevance and importance of this issue, identifies gaps in the existing literature, and provides suggestions for future research. On May 26, 2024, a search was conducted in the “Web of Science” database using the keywords “food safety”, “primary school”, “food choice.” A total of 100 studies were analyzed within this context. Among these studies, the most recent one is from 2024, and the oldest one dates back to 2003. The bibliometric analysis revealed that the United States has played a leading role in studies on this topic, while fewer studies have been conducted in Turkey. The analysis concludes that food safety and child nutrition require a multidisciplinary approach, and researchers should engage in greater collaboration to explore this issue globally.Bu çalışma, ilkokullarda besin seçimi ve besin güvenliği konularını ele alarak, bu alanda yapılan araştırmaları bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi olan‘’VOSviewer’’ programı ile incelemektedir. Araştırma, bu konunun güncelliğini ve önemini vurgulamakta, mevcut literatürdeki boşlukları belirleyerek gelecekte yapılacak çalışmalar için öneriler sunmaktadır. Araştırmamızda, 26 Mayıs 2024 tarihinde “food safety” AND “primary school”AND “food choice” anahtar sözcükleri kullanılarak ‘’Web of Science’’ veri tabanında bir arama yapılmıştır. Toplam 100 Adet çalışma analiz edilmiştir. Bu çalışmalar arasında, en yeni olanı 2024 yılına, en eski olanı ise 2003 yılına aittir. Yapılan bibliyometrik analizde; özellikle Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin bu alanda yapılan çalışmalarda öncü rol oynadığı, Türkiye’de ise daha az sayıda çalışma yapıldığı gözlemlenmiştir. Yapılan bu analiz sonucunda, gıda güvenliği ve çocuk beslenmesi konularının çok disiplinli bir yaklaşım gerektirdiği; araştırmacıların daha fazla işbirliği içerisinde, tüm dünyada bu konuyu irdelenmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır
An Experimental Insight Into the Role of Agomelatine in Renal Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is one of the leading causes of chronic kidney disease and accounts for 50%-75% of mortality following renal pathologies or organ transplantation. Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) involves an interrupted blood supply to organs and the kidney; IRI exacerbates AKI development. Owing to several pharmacological treatment methods, AKI still has a poor prognosis, and novel therapeutic options are needed. Agomelatine (AGM) is a melatonin receptor agonist (MT1 and MT2) with increased bioavailability and lipophilicity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of AGM in experimental renal IRI via long-term and short-term applications. Sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into six groups (n = 10): the control, I/R, AGM20S, AGM40S, AGM20L, and AGM40L groups. Following the establishment of the renal IRI model, the rats received agomelatine at 20 and 40 mg/kg orally, and agomelatine solvent (hydroxyethylcellulose) was used as a vehicle. At the end of the experiment, blood samples and renal tissues were harvested for histopathological and biochemical analysis. Urea, creatinine, tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha), and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) levels were measured in blood serum samples. Malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and increased superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSHPx), and total glutathione (GSH) levels were measured in renal tissue supernatants. Our biochemical results indicated that AGM reduced creatinine, TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, and malondialdehyde levels and increased SOD, CAT, GSHPx, and total GSH levels. Agolematine reduced infiltration, intratubular hemorrhage, and intratubular cast formation histopathologically. Does geopolitical risk escalate environmental degradation in Turkey? Evidence from a Fourier approach
This study examines the long-run impacts of geopolitical risk on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in Turkey using Shin and Fourier Shin cointegration methods for yearly observations from 1985 to 2019. The cointegration test results reveal a long-run relation between CO2 emissions and geopolitical risk, economic growth, renewable energy, and the population size in Turkey. According to dynamic ordinary least squares estimation, geopolitical risk and renewable energy consumption have negative and statistically significant impacts on CO2 emissions, whereas economic growth and population size have positive and statistically significant effects on CO2 in the long-run. This shows that increases in geopolitical risks tend to reduce CO2 emissions in Turkey, by depressing production in polluting industries as well as economic growth. In addition, the study performs TY and Fourier TY causality analyses to check for consistency (or robustness) in the cointegration results. Accordingly, the Fourier TY test results demonstrate a unidirectional relationship from geopolitical risk and population size to CO2 emissions, whereas the Toda-Yamamoto test procedure indicates no causal relationship between the series in the long run. Overall, increases in geopolitical risks decrease the rate of production and pollution in the polluting sector in Turkey. However, this also means a decrease in economic growth rates for Turkey which focuses its economic policy and strategy on sustainable growth and development.
