SDL/ELM-informed brand co-creation and engagement during the COVID-19 crisis: Investigating the conditional effects of involvement and age
Though brand co-creation (BCO) and customer brand engagement (CBE) are identified as important research priorities, empirically derived insights into their relationship with tourism-consumers' consequent destination revisit intention (RVI) remain limited, particularly during the COVID-19. In reply to this gap, we develop service-dominant-logic and elaboration-likelihood-model-informed models, which test the impact of tourism-based affective-, cognitive-, and behavioral-CBE on BCO, involvement, and RVI. To explore such matters, we recruited consumer-based survey data by using structural equation modeling, PROCESS Model, and Johnson-Neyman technique. Our analyses reveal that CBE's dimensions exercise different impacts on BCO, which consequently affect RVI. Second, we ascertain involvement's direct effects on BCO and RVI. Third, results reveal that positive impact of BCO on RVI is stronger for low-involved consumers than highly involved consumers. Finally, results indicate that consumers' age does not significantly moderate the relationship between BCO and RVI. We conclude by offering crucial theoretical/practical implications that advance from this study
The Effect of Substrate Dielectric Constant and Thickness on Millimeter Wave Band Patch Antenna Performance
In last decade, the fifth generation of telecom network (5G) has been a new era as a result of fast-growing mobile industry. Unlike its predecessors, 5G will not only provide faster, better mobile broadband experience, but also broaden communication network with new services such as device-to-device communications or connecting IoT devices and users. For this purpose, 5G aims to achieve massive network capacity, ultra-low latency, higher data speed and greater network reliability. According to the report of ITU World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC-19), several new frequency bands between 20-70 GHz, were announced for allocation of 5G. Frequencies in the Ka-band (27-40 GHz) are particularly attractive due to their low atmospheric attenuation. At the specified frequency range i.e., millimeter wave band, antenna design for 5G applications is very crucial to provide high gain and efficiency as well as broadband communication which is indispensable for high-speed data traffic. At this point, Microstrip patch antennas, stand out amongst others because of their numerous attractive features. In this work, the effect of substrate dielectric constant and thickness to the Rectangular Microstrip Antenna (RMA) performance is examined for high frequency 5G applications. The RMA is designed to operate at 38 GHz and antenna performance has been analyzed according to various dielectric substrates, such as RT5880, RO3003, FR4, RT6006 and RT6010, considering different dielectric constants, thicknesses, and tangential losses. The Effect of Narcissistic Personality Traits of Athletes on Exercise Addiction
Background. Studies examining the development of exercise addiction point out the relationship between the characteristics that create this behavioral addiction and the personality characteristics of individuals. Objectives. This study aims to examine athletes' exercise addiction levels and narcissism levels and to reveal the relationship between narcissism and exercise addiction. Methods. The study's sample consisted of 235 ((X) over bar =23) athletes, 98 of whom were female and 137 of whom were male, between the ages of 18 and 53, who were involved in fitness, kickboxing, and volleyball sports in Osmaniye province. The research design used a relational survey design, one of the quantitative research methods. Results. According to the research results, it was determined that there was a significant difference between exercise addiction and narcissism levels and in the tolerance development and passion sub-dimensions of the exercise addiction scale of athletes according to branches (p<0.05). Additionally, a significant difference was observed between exercise duration and exercise addiction (p<0.05). Accordingly, it was determined that there was a moderately significant positive relationship between narcissism and exercise addiction (r=0.493 p<0.01). As a result, narcissism appears to be a significant predictor of exercise addiction (r(2)=0.243 p<0.01). It can be stated that 24% of the total variance regarding exercise addiction is explained by narcissism. Conclusion. As a result, narcissism appears to be a significant predictor of exercise addiction. It is essential to identify exercise addiction risk factors to be protected from exercise addiction and to minimize its possible effects. In this way, it is thought that individuals can achieve positive results from exercise
Enhancing the Biosorption Potential of Pichia kluyveri FM012 for 4-Bromophenols
The use of toxic and persistent pesticides in agriculture results in serious and lasting environmental impacts. Although traditional methods, such as physical and chemical reclamation, yield the best results, treating these contaminants requires a high cost and expertise. Therefore, this study focuses on bioremediation recovery, which is more efficient, economical, and safer for removal. In this case, the newly isolated potential of Pichia kluyveri FM012 in degrading 4-bromophenol was investigated. The impact of optimized parameters such as agitation, pH, nitrogen, and carbon source were also studied. After extensive testing, the best optimal degradation occurred at pH 5 with a stirrer speed of 150 rpm. Glucose and yeast performed the best compared to other carbon and nitrogen sources. The Langmuir model predicted the maximum biosorption capacity (q(m) = 38.46 mg/g biomass), but the Freundlich model provided a better value of R-2 = 0.999. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model was fitting for the study of biosorption kinetics. The FTIR spectrum revealed the presence of asymmetric and symmetric vibrations of the aromatic ring and was assigned to C = C or C = O. Fungi showed biosorption ability across broad functional groups. These results provide interesting information about the ability of Pichia kluyveri FM012 and its potential applications for remediating resistant pesticides.Curtin UniversityNo Statement Availabl
Correlation Between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Sleep Hygiene in Adults Surviving the 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes
On February 6, 2023, two major earthquakes with magnitudes of 7,7 and 7,6 struck the Kahramanmara & scedil; region in Turkey. Over 50.000 people lost their lives and more than half a million buildings were damaged as a result of these earthquakes. Earthquake survivors may develop post-traumatic stress disorder and sleep hygiene problems. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between post-traumatic stress and sleep hygiene among surviving adults six months after the February 6th Kahramanmara & scedil; Earthquakes in Turkey. This study was conducted with 1004 earthquake survivors in 11 provinces influenced by the February 6th Kahramanmara & scedil; earthquakes in Turkey. The data was collected with Personal Information Form, Impact of Events Scale-Revised, and the Sleep Hygiene Index. It has been determined that 54.1% of earthquake survivors scored >= 33 on the Impact of Events Scale-Revised. The level of post-traumatic stress disorder was high and their sleep hygiene index level was above average among earthquake survivors. A strongly significant positive correlation was observed between the Impact of Events Scale-Revised and the Sleep Hygiene Index. It is recommended to plan and implement community-based psychological interventions to reduce post-traumatic stress disorder and improve sleep hygiene among survivors after earthquakes
Physiological responses of oxidative damage, genotoxicity and hematological parameters of the toxic effect of neonicotinoid-thiamethoxam in Oreochromis niloticus
The purpose of investigation assessed the impacts of neonicotinoid thiamethoxam (TMX) at sublethal concentrations in hematological profile and renal function of Oreochromis niloticus. In the experiment, fish were exposed to TMX in four groups (0, 50, 100 and 150 ppm) for 7 days. At the end of the experiment, biochemical analysis of blood samples showed that the parameters indicating renal function showed a significant increase in serum enzymes ALT, AST, ALP and metabolites (BUN, urea, uric acid, creatinine and cortisol) concentrations, while albumin concentration decreased in a dose -dependent manner compared to the control group. In parallel with the decrease in Na+, K+ and Ca+2 in blood ion levels, there was a significant decrease in the activity of Na+/K+ ATPase, Ca+2 ATPase and AChE enzyme, levels of GSH and HSP70 in kidney tissue in TMX groups compared to the control group. It was determined that the toxic effect of TMX caused a significant increase in TBARS, PC, 8OHdG levels, respectively. In conclusion, our study shows that TMX causes dose -dependent toxic effects, with knock -on effects on physiological processes regarding the hematological profile and renal function of O. niloticus
Is Reiki effective in reducing heart rhythm, cortisol levels, and anxiety and improving biochemical parameters in individuals with cardiac disease? Randomized placebo-controlled trial
Aims The aim of this study was to examine the effect of Reiki in patients with cardiac disease. Methods and results This study was a single-blind, pre-post-test, randomized, placebo-controlled study. Patients from the cardiology outpatient clinic of a training and research hospital were randomized into three groups: Reiki (n = 22), sham (placebo) (n = 21), and control (no treatment) (n = 22). Data were collected using a personal information form, biochemical parameters, cortisol levels, Beck Anxiety Inventory, and electrocardiography analysis. The Reiki group received Reiki to nine main points for 30 min, while the sham Reiki group received the same points during the same period without starting the energy flow. On Day 2, distance Reiki was performed for 30 min. After 1 week, the researchers administered the Beck Anxiety Inventory, assessed the biochemical parameters and cortisol levels, and analysed the electrocardiography again. Of the patients, 52.3% were male and 47.7% were female, and the mean age (years) was 60.45 +/- 9.67 years. The control group had a significantly higher post-test cortisol level than the other groups (P = 0.002). According to the post hoc analysis, there was a significant difference between the Reiki vs. control groups and sham vs. control groups (P = 0.002). The control group had a significantly higher post-test cortisol level than the pre-test cortisol level (P = 0.008). Reiki group had a significantly lower mean post-test Beck Anxiety Inventory score than the other groups (P 0.05). Conclusion Reiki reduces blood cortisol levels and anxiety levels in patient with cardiac diseases
TOTAL PHENOLICS, TANNIN CONTENTS, ANTIOXIDANT PROPERTIES, PROTEIN AND SENSORY ANALYSIS OF Pleurotus ostreatus, Pleurotus citrinopileatus AND Pleurotus djamor CULTIVATED ON DIFFERENT SAWDUSTS
In mushroom cultivation, it is important to be aware of the impact of the growing substrate. This study investigated the cultivation of various oyster mushrooms, including Pleurotus ostreatus, Pleurotus citrinopileatus, and Pleurotus djamor, on different types of wood sawdust. Total phenolic content, condensed tannins, antioxidant activity by ferric reducing antioxidant power assay, protein and sensory evaluations were performed in cultivated oyster mushrooms. Wood sawdust of Fagus orientalis (oriental beech), Alnus glutinosa (alder), Castanea sativa (chestnut), and Juglans regia (walnut) were used as substrate for studied mushroom type, separately. Because champignon (Agaricus bisporus) was the most consumed mushroom, it was used as control sample. Methanolic extracts of dried mushrooms were used to measure bioactive characteristics. Pleurotus ostreatus samples cultivated in Alnus glutinosa (alder) sawdust substrate had the highest antioxidant activity. The lowest antioxidant activity values were found in Pleurotus djamor cultivated in Juglans regia (walnut) wood sawdust substrate. The highest protein content was measured in Agaricus bisporus as 13,84 %. The other highest protein concentration was found in Pleurotus ostreatus cultivated in Alnus glutinosa (alder) sawdust substrate, at 13,75 %. The lowest protein concentration belonged to Pleurotus citrinopileatus cultivated in Fagus orientalis (oriental beech) sawdust substrate as 9,86 %. While Agaricus bisporus and Pleurotus ostreatus had the highest overall appreciation score, Pleurotus citrinopileatus had the lowest. It has been observed that the substrate content has an important impact on chemical and sensory properties of the oyster mushrooms. Cytotoxic effect of tempol on human osteosarcoma
Background , purpose: In addition to the antioxidant activity of tempol, its high concentrations also act as a pro-oxidant that prevents the growth of cancer cells. The objective of our study is to determine if tempol exhibits cytotoxic properties that can be utilized in the cure of osteosarcoma. Materials and methods: The human SCC-25 cell-line was provided f rom the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) via cell culture. The cells were subjected to a 4 mM concentration of tempol for a duration of 48 hours. The cells were subjected to centrifugation , the resulting liquid portion, known as the supernatant, was collected. The assessment of cell viability was conducted using the MTT test. The Bradford technique was employed to quantify the total protein content. The ELISA method was used to evaluate the expression and functionality of cleaved bax, caspase-3, and bcl-2. An unpaired Student's t-test was used to confront the parameters of the experimental and control groups. Results: Bax, bcl-2 and cleaved caspase-3 levels in the control groups, respectively; It was determined as 1.035 +/- 0.1121, 7.083 +/- 0.8002 and 0.8017 +/- 0.2342. Bax, bcl-2 and cleaved caspase-3 levels in tempol applied groups were determined as 4.667 +/- 0.7601, 1.833 +/- 0.4766 and 8.018 +/- 0.8563, respectively. Conclusion: As a result, tempol can be evaluated as an antitumor agent in the treatment of osteosarcoma with its cytotoxic effect
İŞ STRESİNİN İŞ TATMİNİ VE YILMAZLIK DURUMU ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ: MUTFAK ÇALIŞANLARI ÜZERİNDE BİR UYGULAMA
Çalışmanın amacı, mutfak çalışanlarının iş streslerinin iş tatminleri ve yılmazlık durumları üzerindeki etkisini belirlemeye çalışmaktır. Tanımlayıcı türde tasarlanmış olan çalışmada veriler, alan yazına dayalı olarak oluşturulan bir anket ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Adana’da faaliyet veren 4 yıldızlı otel işletmeleri oluşturmaktadır. Anket, 28 Ekim-5 Kasım 2023 tarihleri arasında kolayda örnekleme tekniğiyle yüz yüze ve çevrim içi anket tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Geçerli 247 anket elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistiklere ek olarak faktöri korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri kullanılmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen analizler sonucunda, mutfak çalışanlarının iş streslerinin iş tatminleri ve yılmazlık durumları üzerinde negatif ve anlamlı bir etkisi olduğu saptanmıştır. Çalışanların yılmazlık durumlarının iş tatminleri üzerinde ise pozitif yönlü ve anlamlı bir etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda hem uygulayıcılara hem de araştırmacılara yönelik olarak çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur
