    Time and frequency analysis of daily-based nexus between global CO2 emissions and electricity generation nexus by novel WLMC approach

    The studies have focused on changes in CO2 emissions over different periods, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Even if CO2 emissions are temporarily reduced during the pandemic according to annual figures, this may be misleading. Considering annual figures is important to understand the overall trend, but using data with much higher frequency (e.g., daily) is much better suited to investigate dynamic relationships and external effects. Therefore, this study comprehensively analyzes the association between CO2 emissions and disaggregated electricity generation (EG) sources across the globe by employing the novel wavelet local multiple correlation (WLMC) approach on daily data from 1st January 2020 to 31st March 2023. The results demonstrate that (1) based on the main statistics, daily CO2 emissions range between 69 MtCO(2) and 116 MtCO(2), indicating that there is an oscillation, but no sharp changes over the analyzed period. (2) based on the baseline regression using the dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS) approach, the constructed estimation models have a high predictive ability of CO2 emissions, reaching similar to 94%; (3) in the further analysis employing the WLMC approach, there are significant externalities between EG resources, which affect CO2 emissions.     Durability effect of reclaimed asphalt aggregate on concrete road pavement

    The use of recycled aggregates instead of natural aggregates used in concrete reduces environmental pollution and concrete costs. Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) aggregate used as recycled aggregate has a lower water absorption than natural aggregate due to its bituminous structure, which reduces the water requirement of fresh concrete. In this study, it was aimed to determine the optimum use of RAP particles as aggregate in concrete for read pavements and to determine their durability properties. For this purpose, RAP was used instead of crushed stone aggregate used in concrete road construction. RAP was used by replaced aggregate 0%, 25%, 50% and 100% of the crushed stone aggregate used on the concrete road. The dose of the produced concrete was 350 kg/m3 and the water/cement ratio was kept constant as 0.45. The fresh workability and air content of concretes containing RAP were determined. Compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, electrical resistivity value, accelerated corrosion test of hardened concretes were subjected to corrosion resistance, water absorption and porosity percentage, acid resistance, ultrasonic pulse rate and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-ray Diffractometer (XRD) analyzes were determined. In the experimental results, it has been observed that the use of RAP ratio of 25% and 50% remains within the limit values for concrete pavement. It is recommended to be used on reinforced concrete roads that will be exposed to adverse environmental conditions with its high corrosion resistance, thanks to its anti -corrosion feature

    The relationship between CO2 emissions, renewable energy and economic growth in the US: evidence from symmetric and asymmetric spectral granger causality analysis

    This study analyzes the relationship between renewable energy consumption, CO(2 )emissions, and economic growth for 1973:M01-2022:M06 in the USA. The study employs Spectral Granger Causality analysis symmetrically and asymmetrically. The symmetric causality test presents a bidirectional causality relationship between CO2 emissions, renewable energy consumption, and economic growth. Regarding asymmetric causality results, there is bidirectional causality between positive and negative shocks of CO2 emissions, renewable energy consumption, and economic growth.     Diabetes Attitude and Self-Efficiency Levels of Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Taking Insulin

    This study was conducted with descriptive design to determine the disease attitudes and self-efficacy levels of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus taking insulin. The study was conducted with 120 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who applied to the internal medicine outpatient clinics of Balıklıgöl State Hospital between January and April 2021. Personal information form, Diabetes Attitude Scale, and Self-Efficacy in Type 2 Diabetes scale were used to collect data. The data were analyzed in the Statistical Package of Social Sciences 25.0 software. The total mean score of the patients was found to be 57.25±19.07 for the self-efficacy in type 2 diabetes scale.     Klasik Türk edebiyatının önemli şiir kaynaklarından biri de şiir mecmualarıdır. Şiir mecmuaları içerisinde de belli bir kişi için tertip edilenler muhtevaları ve şair-memdûh ilişkisi açısından dikkati çekmektedir. Sultanlar için tertip edilen şiir mecmualarından birisi de bu çalışmanın konusu olan ve Topkapı Sarayı Müzesi Kütüphanesi, Türkçe Yazmalar Bölümünde R. 1314 arşiv numarasıyla kayıtlı olan mecmuadır. Mecmua, Sultan II. Mustafa ve şehzadelerinden Muhammed, Osman ve Hasan için derlenmiştir. Sultan II. Mustafa’nın başmüezzini Muhammed b. Mahmûd tarafından derlenen 45 varaklık mecmuada mahlası tespit edilebilen 22 farklı şaire ait 28 ve mahlassız 6 şiir ile birlikte toplam 34 manzume bulunmaktadır. Mecmuadaki şiirlerin tamamı kaside ve kıt’a nazım şekliyle kaleme alınmıştır. Mecmua muhteva açısından iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. 13 şiirle ilk bölüm, Sultan II. Mustafa’nın Avusturya seferlerine düşülen tarih manzumeleri, methiyeler ve bir mersiyeden oluşmaktadır. 21 şiirle ikinci bölüm ise Sultan II. Mustafa’nın şehzadelerinden Muhammed, Osman ve Hasan’ın doğumları münasebetiyle kaleme alınan tarih manzumelerinden oluşmaktadır.     Investigation of behaviour of road embankment under traffic loads by finite element analysis method

    Bu tez, yol setlerinin trafik yükleri altındaki deformasyon davranışını anlamak ve mühendislik tasarımına yönelik bilgi sağlamak amacıyla yapılan kapsamlı bir analizi temsil etmektedir. Çalışmada, yol setinin trafik yükleri altındaki deformasyon davranışı Plaxis sonlu elemanlar analiz yöntemi kullanarak incelenmiştir. Giriş bölümünde konu genel hatlarıyla açıklanmış ve tezin amacı vurgulanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, yol altyapısı mühendisliği ve geosentetiklerle zemin iyileştirme literatüründeki önemli çalışmalar gözden geçirilmiş ve trafik yüklerinin yol seti üzerindeki etkileri vurgulanmıştır. Araştırmanın materyal ve yöntem bölümünde geosentetiklerin sınıflandırılması, geosentetiklerin özellikleri ve kullanım alanları, geosentetiklerin önemli diğer özellikleri ele alınmıştır. Geogridlerle zemin iyileştirmesi konusu detaylandırılmış, yol tasarımı süreci ve ilgili yönetmeliklere alt başlıklar halinde yer verilmiştir. Plaxis sonlu elemanlar analizi yönteminin temel ilkeleri açıklanmış, analiz senaryoları belirlenmiş ve veri toplama yöntemleri detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Analizde kullanılan parametrelerin seçimi ve modelleme süreci ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın araştırma ve bulgular kısmında farklı trafik yükü senaryoları altında geogrid donatısız ve yine farklı trafik yükü senaryoları altında geogrid donatılı yol seti tasarımlarının analiz çıktıları ele alınır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, trafik yükleri altında meydana gelen deformasyonların ve gerilmelerinin büyüklüklerini, dağılımlarını ve etki sürelerini belirlemek amacıyla detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçları toplam, kalıcı ve elastik deformasyon, Trafik Fayda Oranı (TBR) ve Tekerlek İzi Azalma Oranı (RDR) açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar ve tartışma bölümünde, analiz sonuçlarının literatürle karşılaştırılması yapılmış ve elde edilen bulguların mühendislik uygulamalarına olan potansiyel etkileri tartışılmıştır. Çalışmanın sınırlamaları ve gelecek çalışmalara yönelik öneriler de bu bölümde ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre geogrid donatılı yol seti, donatısız duruma kıyasla daha iyi performans göstermiştir.This thesis represents a comprehensive analysis to understand the deformation behaviour of road embankments under traffic loads and to provide information for engineering design. In the study, the deformation behaviour of the road embankment under traffic loads is investigated using Plaxis finite element analysis method. In the introductory chapter, the subject is explained in general terms and the aim of the thesis is emphasised. In the second chapter, important studies in the literature on road infrastructure engineering and soil improvement with geosynthetics are reviewed and the effects of traffic loads on the road embankment are emphasised. In the material and method section of the research, the classification of geosynthetics, properties and application areas of geosynthetics, and other important properties of geosynthetics are discussed. The subject of soil improvement with geogrids is detailed and the road design process and related regulations are given under subheadings. The basic principles of Plaxis finite element analysis method are explained, analysis scenarios are determined and data collection methods are examined in detail. The selection of the parameters used in the analysis and the modelling process are discussed in detail. In the research and findings section of the study, the analysis outputs of the road embankment designs without geogrid reinforcement under different traffic load scenarios and with geogrid reinforcement under different traffic load scenarios are discussed. The results are analysed in detail to determine the magnitude, distribution and duration of deformations and stresses under traffic loads. The results of the study are evaluated in terms of total, permanent and elastic deformation, Traffic Benefit Ratio (TBR) and Rut Depth Ratio (RDR). In the results and discussion section, the results of the analyses are compared with the literature and the potential implications of the findings for engineering applications are discussed. Limitations of the study and suggestions for future studies are also discussed in this section.     Examining the relationship between bitcoin and altcoins

    Günümüzde fiziki bir varlığa sahip olan paralar önemini kaybetme riski taşımaktadır. Özellikle son yıllarda teknolojik gelişmenin hız kazanması, Covid-19 pandemisinin yaşanmasıyla birlikte dijitalleşme önem kazanmıştır. Bu kapsamda, bireyler sanal platformlar üzerinden daha fazla ticari faaliyetlerde bulunmaya başlamıştır. Ticari faaliyetler karşılığında ödeme aracı olarak kripto paralar daha yoğun kullanılmıştır. Finans sektöründe de havale ve yatırım işlemlerinde tercih edilmektedir. Kripto para, her geçen gün fiziki varlığa sahip para gibi geniş kullanım imkanı sunmaktadır. Böylece, kripto para piyasasının hacmi son yıllarda yükselmiştir. Kripto paraların bugünkü piyasa değeri 2.56 trilyon dolar ve günlük işlem hacimleri 67.83 milyar dolar düzeydindedir. Kullanımda olan kripto para sayısı 10.000'nin üzerindedir. Bitcoin 1.37 trilyon dolar piyasa değeri, % 53'lük piyasa payıyla kripto paralar içinde ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Bu nedenle, çalışmada Bitcoin ile piyasa değeri en yüksek olan on altcoin arasındaki ilişki Johansen Eşbütünleşme, Granger Nedensellik Testleri ve Birliktelik Kuralı ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında 01.01.2020 - 31.12.2023 dönemi günlük kapanış fiyatları kullanılmıştır. Sonuçta; Bitcoin ile diğer kripto paralar arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Vektör hata düzeltme modeline göre; lndoge ve lnshib uzun dönemde birlikte hareket etmektedir. Böylece, kısa dönemde oluşan sapmalar ortadan kalkmakta ve şok etki uzun dönemde sona ermektedir. Diğer taraftan; lnbnb ve lnxrp'den lnbtc'ye doğru tek yönlü nedensellik söz konusudur. Lnbnb, lnsol ve lnxrp'den lneth'ye; lnbnb'den lnxrp'ye doğru tek yönlü nedensellik bulunmuştur. Diğer bir anlatımla BNB'de meydana gelen bir artış BTC'ye, ETH'ye ve XRP'ye katkı sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca XRP'nin artması BTC'nin yükselmesini sağlamaktadır. SOL'un artması ETH'de yükselmeye yol açabilmektedir. Birliktelik Kuralı analizinde ise; BTC değişkeni ile girdi değişken olarak tanımlanan BNB, XRP, ADA, DOGE ve ETH değişkenlerinin tamamıyla birlikte hareket ettiği gözlenmiştir.Today, currencies that have a physical existence are at risk of losing their importance. Especially in recent years, with the acceleration of technological developments and the Covid-19 pandemic, digitalization has gained importance. In this context, individuals have begun to engage in more commercial activities through the use of virtual platforms. Cryptocurrencies have been used more intensively as a means of payment for commercial activities. It is also preferred for remittances and investments in the financial sector. Cryptocurrency, like money with physical assets, offers a wide range of everyday uses. Thus, the volume of the cryptocurrency market has increased in recent years. The current market capitalisation of cryptocurrencies is 2.56trillion,andthedailytradingvolumetheytradeis2.56 trillion, and the daily trading volume they trade is 67.83 billion. The number of cryptocurrencies in use is over 10,000. Bitcoin is the world's leading cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of $ 1.37 trillion and a market share of 53%. Therefore, in the study, the relationship between Bitcoin and the ten altcoins with the highest market value was analyzed with Johansen Cointegration, Granger Causality Tests and the Rule of Association. Within the scope of the study, daily closing prices for the period 01.01.2020 - 31.12.2023 were used. As a result, a long-term relationship has been identified between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. According to the vector error correction model, the lndoge and the lnshib move together in the long run. In this way, deviations in the short term are eliminated and the shock effect ends in the long term. On the other hand, there is a unidirectional causality from the lnbnb and the lnxrp to the lnbtc. Unidirectional causality was found from lnbnb, lnsol and lnxrp to lneth and from lnbnb to lnxrp. In other words, an increase in BNB contributes to BTC, ETH and XRP. In addition, the increase in XRP will allow the BTC to increase in value. In addition, the increase in XRP will allow the BTC to increase in value. An increase in SOL may lead to an increase in ETH.     Bu çalışma organik üretim ve ürünlerin hayvansal açıdan değerlendirilmesini tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Tez çalışması Osmaniye merkez ilçe ve Kadirli ilçesi olmak üzere toplam 419 birey ile yüz yüze anket yöntemi kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Çalışmada "Ana Kitle Oranlarına Dayalı Basit Tesadüfi Olasılık Örneklemesi" yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen veriler, frekans dağılımları ve oransal dağılımlar kullanılarak saptanmış ve SPSS paket programında analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada, ankete katılanların %96.7'si organik tarım hakkında bilgi sahibiyken, %76.8'i daha önce organik hayvancılığı duyduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. Katılımcıların %91.6'sı organik hayvansal ürünleri tükettiklerini bildirmiştir. Ankete katılanların %36.5'i organik tarımı, televizyon, internet vb. iletişim araçlarından öğrendiklerini söylerken; %58.7'si organik hayvancılıktaki en önemli unsurun beslenme olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Katılımcıların %43.7'si sığır etini tükettiğini, %45.8'i organik et ihtiyacını karşılamak için köylerden alışveriş yaptıklarını ifade ederken; bunun sebebinin organik ürünlerin daha sağlıklı olması olduğu söylenmiştir. Katılımcıların %43.2'si daha çok organik süt tükettiklerini, organik bal olarak daha çok süzme balı tercih ettiklerini, organik ürünlerin pazar şanslarının düşük olduklarını, organik ürünlerin çevre dostu oldukları, organik ürünler ile köyden alınan ürünlerin daha sağlıklı bulunduklarını ifade etmişlerdir. Çalışmada organik olarak tüketimine öncelik verilen hayvansal ürünler ile kişilerin yaş grupları arasında önemli ilişki bulunmuştur. Çalışmada organik et ihtiyacının nereden alınması görüşü ile yaş grupları arasında; hangi et türünün tercihi ile yaş grupları arasında; organik olarak tüketimine öncelik verilen süt ve ürünleri ile yaş grupları arasında; hayvansal gıdaların üretim şekli tüketimi etkiler mi görüşü ile yaş grupları arasında; organik ürünlere ne kadar güveniyorsun görüşü ile yaş grupları arasında; organik ürünler daha güvenilirdir görüşü ile yaş grupları arasında; organik ürünler doğayı korur görüşü ile yaş grupları arasında; organik ürün tüketmeliyim görüşü ile yaş grupları arasında istatistiki olarak bir farklılık bulunmuştur. The thesis study was conducted using face-to-face survey method with a total of 419 individuals in Osmaniye central district and Kadirli district. "Simple Random Probability Sampling Based on Main Population Proportions" method was used in the study. The data obtained from the surveys were determined using frequency distributions and proportional distributions and analyzed in the SPSS package program. In the research, 96.7% of the respondents had knowledge about organic agriculture, while 76.8% stated that they had heard of organic livestock farming before. 91.6% of the participants reported that they consumed organic animal products. 36.5% of the respondents stated that they use organic agriculture, television, the internet, etc. While saying what they learned from communication tools; 58.7% stated that the most important element in organic livestock farming is nutrition. While 43.7% of the participants stated that they consume beef and 45.8% stated that they shop from villages to meet their organic meat needs; it has been said that the reason for this is that organic products are healthier. 43.2% of the participants stated that they consume more organic milk, they prefer filtered honey as organic honey, organic products have low market chances, organic products are environmentally friendly, and organic products and products bought from the village are healthier. In the study, a significant relationship was found between animal products, the consumption of which is prioritized organically, and the age groups of the people. In the study, between age groups with the view of where to buy organic meat; Which type of meat is preferred and between age groups; among the age groups with milk and its products that are given priority for organic consumption; Among age groups with the opinion of whether the production method of animal foods affects consumption; how much do you trust organic products? opinion among age groups; among age groups with the opinion that organic products are more reliable; among age groups with the view that organic products protect nature; a statistical difference was found between age groups with the opinion that I should consume organic products.     Determination of the effect of gender perception among university students on attitudes towards disabled women

    Introduction and aim. This study investigates the effect of gender perception among university students on attitudes towards disabled women. Material and methods. The target population of this descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of university students enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences in a province located in southern Türkiye. The Socio-demographic Form, the Gender Perception Scale, and the Attitudes towards Disabled Women Scale were administered to the participants through Google Forms. The sample of the study consisted of 644 students registered at the Faculty of Health Sciences and meeting the inclusion criteria. Results. A positive and moderately significant correlation was found between gender perception and attitudes towards disabled women among students who were enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The variables explaining 26.3% of the total variance for the attitudes towards disabled women included the presence of a disabled individual in the family, education of disabled individuals together with individuals with no disabilities, views about the marriage of disabled women, kinship with the disabled relative, and gender perception scale score. Conclusion. It was concluded that gender perception had a significant effect on the attitudes of students enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences towards disabled women. © 2024 Publishing Office of the University of Rzeszow.
