Gender Differences in Early Complications After STEMI and Their Associations With Anxiety and Depression
OBJECTIVE: The female gender is known to be associated with a poor outcome in ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI). Anxiety and depression are more common in women and they may contribute to the increase in early complications after STEMI. We sought to determine the gender differences in early complications after STEMI and their relationship with patients’ anxiety and depression.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS: This is a prospective observational study. The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) is used to screen depression (HADS-D) and anxiety (HADS-A).
RESULTS: A total of 188 patients (age 56.8±10.5, 69.2% male) with STEMI were included in this study. The incidence of early complications was significantly higher in women than in men (50.0% vs. 14.6%, p<0.001). The prevalence of anxiety and depression was significantly higher in women than in men (60.3% vs. 40.0% and 50.0% vs. 14.6%, respectively). In multivariable analyses, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) level (OR: 0.942; 0.891-0.996, p=0.036), HADS-A (OR: 1.593; 1.341-1.891, p<0.001) and HADS-D (OR: 1.254; 1.057-1.488, p=0.01) scores were found to be independent risk factors for early complications after STEMI.
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of early complications and the prevalence of anxiety and depression were significantly higher in women. LVEF level, HADS-A, and HADS-D scores were found to be independent risk factors for early complications
Stacking-Based Ensemble Learning for Remaining Useful Life Estimation
Excessive and untimely maintenance prompts economic losses and unnecessary workload. Therefore, predictive maintenance models are developed to estimate the right time for maintenance. In this study, predictive models that estimate the remaining useful life of turbofan engines have been developed using deep learning algorithms on NASA's turbofan engine degradation simulation dataset. Before equipment failure, the proposed model presents an estimated timeline for maintenance. The experimental studies demonstrated that the stacking ensemble learning and the convolutional neural network (CNN) methods are superior to the other investigated methods. While the convolution neural network (CNN) method was superior to the other investigated methods with an accuracy of 93.93%, the stacking ensemble learning method provided the best result with an accuracy of 95.72%.Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF
Augmented Reality Experience in an Architectural Design Studio
Thanks to the developing technology, different methods and tools are used in architectural representation, and architects contribute to developing these tools. Architects can easily model their designs with computer technologies and even make them visible in the environment with augmented reality technologies. Also, it is thought that these technologies will become widespread in basic architectural education over time. This study conducted a practice at the undergraduate architecture level using augmented reality technology. Within the scope of the study, the predisposition of students who experience augmented reality technologies to new representation, gender, course period, familiarity with playing computer games, the effect of computer programs that they can use in their previous augmented reality experience and designs if any, and the correlation between them has been tried to be revealed with this study. In this context, a study was carried out with thirteen students in the architectural design studio. Students were expected to parametrically design indoor exhibition elements using Rhinoceros 3D software and the Grasshopper plugin in the study. Then, an experimental augmented reality study was conducted with the Fologram, in which the students transferred these virtual exhibition elements they designed to the real indoors and reshaped them according to the space. Afterwards, a questionnaire consisting of five independent and ten dependent variables was applied to the students. The survey results were analysed with the IBM SPSS Statistics program. According to the results obtained, significant results were determined between 4 independent variables and one dependent variable
Analysis of the Movies “Last Action Hero” (1993) and “Free Guy” (2021) in the Context of Transformation of the Hero Phenomenon in Hollywood
Ambient Energy harvesting is a way to reap and grind energy from such source which is producing or converting one form of energy into another, but alongside that energy some of the energy is being lost which in our daily or busy routine no one even notices that something is being wasted. That something is known as our or machines kinetic energy which even we ourselves cannot recognize. That small amount is harvested and then controlled with some specific tools set and magnified to be get used in daily uses instead of those expensive ways which we have adopted from centuries. This case study is focusing on some aspects of how ambient energy harvesting is playing an important role in individual environment as well as which development we can have for industrial sector to cope up with this energy utilization hinge in our way. Also, we have laid a way to make our industrial sector that sufficient that it will start generating the energy on its own and not to rely on conventional and expensive energy, which has grasped the major portion of individual and companies' utility expenses. By the end we will be able to create a future with self-powered homes and industries that will be less polluted and affordable to all the community
Tunus Aktivizmindeki Zorluklar ve Cevaplardevrim Sonrası Dönemde Tunus Toplum Hareketleri Üzerine Bir İnceleme
▪ Yüksek lisans tezi. This thesis analyzes the development of Tunisian activism in the post the 2011 period, focusing on the challenges facing social movements in the country. This study examines the history of Tunisian activism from colonial rule to the present day, with a particular emphasis on the post-revolution period. Drawing on existing literature and theory, the study identifies the emergence of new forms of digital activism and transnational networks and the fragmentation of social movements into multiple competing organizations as key features of post-revolutionary Tunisian activism. Building on this analysis, the study develops a specific hypothesis that the Tunisian state's response to post-revolutionary Tunisian activism, including co-optation and repression, has created significant challenges for social movements in sustaining mobilization and achieving substantive social and political change. This hypothesis is tested by examining the state's response to activist mobilization, including its use of media and surveillance, as well as analyzing the challenges faced by social movements, such as generational divides and the difficulties of coordinating across organizations. The study concludes by reflecting on the implications of these findings for the future of Tunisian activism and the broader implications for social movements in the Middle East and North Africa. Ultimately, this thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of the complexities of post-revolutionary politics in Tunisia and the challenges activists face to build a more just and democratic society

Vibrational Spectroscopic and Molecular Docking Studies of Amrinone, A Cardiotonic Inotropic Drug
Amrinone is a class I cardiotonic inotropic agent, which is known to increase the cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) level by inhibiting the phosphodiesterase 3 (PDE3) enzyme. In this study the theoretically possible stable conformations of the amrinone, was examined first by conformational analysis method and then the obtained most stable conformation was optimized by DFT/wb97xd/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory using Gaussian 03 program. The credibility of the theoretical model was confirmed by comparison of experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of the title molecule. The fundamental vibrational wavenumbers, IR and Raman intensities of the optimized structure of amrinone were determined using DFT/wb97xd/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory and compared with the experimental vibrational spectra. To investigate the influence of amrinone on cAMP enhancement, the docking simulations towards PDE3B were carried out and the main binding interactions of amrinone with PDE3 were elucidated. Cytochrome P450s (CYPs) are very important phase I metabolizing enzymes. The interaction between amrinone and CYPs (CYP1A2, CYP2C9, and CYP2C19) was investigated by docking simulations. Moreover, molecular docking of the title molecule with different proteins and receptors were studied to reveal potential mechanisms for therapeutic applications. Molecular docking simulations revealed that amrinone showed strong binding affinity to integrins alpha(5)beta(1)(Delta G= -6.6 kcal/mol) and alpha(IIb)beta(3) (-6.6 kcal/mol), and DNA (-6.5 kcal/mol). The results correlated with its anticancer activity. The drug likeness and ADMET properties of amrinone were analyzed for the prediction of pharmacokinetic profiles.Istanbul Universit

▪ Yüksek lisans tezi.In the light of Central Asia's geopolitical situation, this paper examines Kyrgyz- Turkish political and military cooperation. Its goal is to learn more about the challenges and opportunities that the two countries' bilateral relations present. The chronological framework of the study covers the period from 1991 to 2021. The time frame of this work allows one to fully trace the dynamics of changes in political and military processes in Central Asia, to explore the evolution of the foreign policy strategies of Turkey in Kyrgyzstan. The study has revealed that Kyrgyzstan continues to be a zone of competition in the implementation of the regional foreign policy aspirations of Russia and Turkey. Therefore, the process of interaction requires the development of a flexible and variable policy. The regional powers have different interests in Kyrgyzstan, so their activities in this country are not only in the nature of cooperation in security issues, but also rivalry in cultural and educational policies. The Turkish authorities are trying to optimize the policy aimed at developing further integration with the Central Asian republics, including Kyrgyzstan, both on a multilateral platform and on a bilateral basis
