The Implementation of Animal Biotechnology to Control the Supply and Quality of Duck Eggs in Malaysia
Malaysia’s poultry industries are leading the way in satisfying the population’s demand. According to statistics, Malaysia is the third largest producer of duck after China and France, and production has significantly expanded during the past ten years. Malaysians consume an average of 320 eggs per person annually, which ranks as top consumers worldwide, far higher than United States (average of 250 eggs annually) and India (average of 48 eggs annually). Furthermore, regardless of their culture or religion,
people in Asian nations consume eggs and egg-related items
(Quan & Benjakul, 2019). Similar to hens, ducks can be raised for egg productions as well. However, as compared to chicken eggs, the prevalence of duck eggs is higher. Besides, the production of duck eggs is higher with 300-350 eggs production with greater weight of 32-34 ounces per dozen annually as compared to an average of annual production of 250 chicken eggs with lesser weight (24-26 ounces). Despite of greater feed (20-30%) are needed for ducks than chickens raise per dozen eggs, ducks possess the ability to forage for their nutritional needs (National Institute of Food and Agriculture, 2023)
Optimization of Mechanical Properties in Sago Cellulose-based Biodegradable Films for Sustainable Packaging
Environmental concerns over plastic waste have accelerated research into biodegradable packaging. This study optimizes the mechanical properties of sago cellulose-based films using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with a Central Composite Design (CCD). The key formulation factors investigated include glycerol content, pre-treated sago waste (PSW) content, and alkali treatment concentration, which significantly influence the film’s elongation at break (EAB), tensile strength (TS), and Young’s modulus (YM). The model developed demonstrated a strong correlation with an R² value of more than 0.5, confirming the model's adequacy. The optimized biofilm formulation achieved 12.547 MPa in TS, 100.421 % in EAB, and 97.499 MPa in YM, indicating a balance between strength and flexibility. The findings suggest that sago cellulose-based films have strong potential as sustainable packaging materials, offering an eco-friendly alternative to synthetic plastics

interpersonal communication, emphasizing how perceptions, emotions, and cognitive processes affect how
students express themselves, settle disputes, and form bonds. The study makes the case that improving
interpersonal communication abilities benefits students' social and academic lives as well as their readiness for

THE IMPACT OF SOLVENCY POSITION ON BANKS’ PERFORMANCE IN MALAYSIA
Solvency position reflects a bank’s ability to meet its long-term financial obligations and serves as a key indicator of financial stability and performance. However, there is limited empirical evidence on how different solvency ratios influence bank performance in the Malaysian context. This study aims to examine the impact of solvency position on the performance of commercial banks in Malaysia. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, covering a five-year period from 2018 to 2023. Secondary data were obtained from the annual reports of firms listed on Bursa Malaysia and analyzed using a panel data regression model via EViews version 12. The findings reveal that both the debt ratio and capital adequacy ratio have a statistically significant effect on return on equity, which serves as a proxy for bank performance. Conversely, the equity ratio does not exhibit a significant impact. Control variables such as bank size and interest rate also show no significant influence on performance. These results offer valuable insights for bank managers, investors, and policymakers, particularly in formulating effective capital management strategies and enhancing financial resilience within the Malaysian banking sector.Keywords:Solvency Position, Equity Ratio, Debt Ratio, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Return on Equity, Bank Performance

A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW ON THE INFLUENCE OF BOARD GOVERNANCE AND SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING
Sustainability reporting has become the primary method used by large corporations to inform stakeholders about the sustainability practices of the companies. Even though research on sustainability has gain prominence globally, there is still limited literature specifically on board governance and sustainability reporting of listed corporations. Therefore, it is vital that existing literature is accumulated, organised and analysed to determine the extent and development of literature in this area of research, including an overview of the key findings. The review adheres to the publication standard, namely Reporting Standards for Systematic Evidence Synthesis (ROSES). It includes articles from two leading databases, Scopus and Web of Science, which generated a final total of 53 related studies. The review is mainly categorised into six themes: social reporting, environmental reporting, GRI-based reporting, ESG-based reporting, reporting based on the scoring system and a combination of sustainability and integrated reporting. These themes further explore board governance and other related corporate governance aspects. The findings from the thematic analysis reveal an overview of board governance on sustainability reporting according to four main themes: (1) board independence and diversity; (2) board size and meeting; (3) board committee; and (4) board remuneration. Based on the results, board size and women directors tend to encourage sustainability reporting, but board independence seems less effective. The findings of this review are crucial for enhancing stakeholder confidence and protecting shareholders' interests as this study systematically summarises findings from various countries and contexts and does not just refer to the results of a single study. This study should also be particularly useful to future researchers who plan to embark on research in the areas of governance and sustainability reporting. The gaps in this research area are identified, and recommendations for future research are proposed
Green Tourism as a Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development in Gunungkidul
Gunungkidul, an administrative region situated in the southeastern portion of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, is celebrated due to its abundant natural scenery and cultural legacy. However, the rapid advancement of tourism has caused difficulties in achieving ecological stability. This study aimed to explore the capacity of environmentally conscious tourism as a plan to harmonize the increase in tourism with the safeguarding of the environment in Gunungkidul. This research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology and scrutinizes presentday tourism customs, local people’s participation, and conservation endeavors. The results emphasize crucial strategies intended to promote environmentally sound tourism, such as eco-friendly amenities, refuse handling, and safeguarding habitats. The study also draws attention to the role of interested parties—the authorities, regional enterprises, and travelers—in nurturing environmentally conscious tourism. These findings suggest that incorporating the concepts of ecological tourism can contribute to protecting the innate allure of Gunungkidul while simultaneously bolstering the expansion of the local economy. A cooperative tactic is indispensable to guarantee the perpetuation of Gunungkidul’s cultural and natural assets for successive inhabitants
Food Insecurity and Its Associated Factors among Dayak Elderly In Southern Sarawak
Food insecurity is a critical public health concern among older adults, especially in vulnerable and indigenous communities. This study aimed to examine its prevalence and explore associated determinants among the Dayak elderly population in southern Sarawak, Malaysia. A community based
cross-sectional study was conducted involving 311 Dayak elderly aged 6092 years, recruited from selected villages across Kuching, Samarahan, and Serian divisions using proportionate cluster sampling. Data were collected via interviewer-administered questionnaires covering sociodemographic information, social support, food environment, functional ability, oral health, and food insecurity status. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and multiple logistic regression. The prevalence of food insecurity among the Dayak elderly was 26.4%. The odds of facing food insecurity were much higher for women (AOR 2.292, 95% CI = 1.052-4.993), those with a low household income (AOR 20.617, 95% CI = 2.635-161.342), individuals lacking savings (AOR 2.629, 95% CI = 1.332-5.191), those who had trouble getting to faraway food stores (AOR 4.107,
95% CI = 1.855-9.904), and individuals with only fair oral health (AOR 3.43, 95% CI = 1.166-10.09). Conversely, factors associated with a decreased likelihood of food insecurity included being single/widowed (AOR 0.362, 95% CI = 0.157-0.836) and receiving financial assistance (AOR 0.323, 95%
CI = 0.154-0.675). These findings highlight the urgent need for tailored interventions addressing socioeconomic vulnerabilities, improving physical access to food, and incorporating oral health considerations into food security programs targeting elderly indigenous populations in Sarawak

The global shift toward Sustainable Materials has necessitated the exploration of natural waste biocomposites as eco-friendly solutions to address the contemporary environmental and industrial noise challenges. This review paper explores recent developments in the use of natural waste biocomposites, focusing on their acoustic properties and potential applications in real-world scenarios. The integration of these Sustainable Materials into biocomposites is analyzed, with a particular focus on their performance in noise reduction, sound absorption, and overall environmental impact. Challenges and opportunities in scaling these Materials for industrial applications are also discussed.
