    No full text

Correction to one figure and the corresponding numbers in the text are noted for the paper. A wrong cross-section was used for the theory prediction of t ̄tA(→ t ̄t), which was estimated to differ by around 1% with respect to the one of t ̄tH(→ t ̄t). It was found later that the production cross-section for t ̄tA(→ t ̄t) can be up to 60% higher than the one of t ̄tH(→ t ̄t) for tan β ∼ 1. This affects the theoretical prediction shown in figure 7, and the limits in the tan β vs mH/A plane shown in figure 8(a). The changes in the text are noted for sections 8 and 9. • In the scenario where the scalar H and pseudo-scalar A bosons have equal masses and both contribute to BSM t ̄tt ̄t production, values of tan β below 1.9 and 0.7 are excluded for mH/A between 400 GeV and 1000 GeV, respectively, at 95% CL instead of 1.6 and 0.6. • In the scenario where only the pseudo-scalar A boson contributes to BSM t ̄tt ̄t production, values of tan β below 1.5 and 0.5 are excluded for mA between 400 GeV and 1000 GeV, respectively, at 95% CL instead of 1.2 and 0.5. The original plot for this scenario is not included in the paper as it was nearly identical to the one where only the scalar H boson contributes to BSM t ̄tt ̄t production, and was therefore omitted. After correction, the updated limits in the tan β vs mA plane are shown in figure 8(c)

Prospettive giurisprudenziali sul danno ambientale in Giappone. Un modello per un’IA sostenibile

    No full text
In a context shaped by new global challenges in turmoil due to climatic emergency, Japanese case law on environmental tort could constitute a significant experience. Through judicial resolution of environmental disputes, Japanese courts have developed relevant criteria in the environmental tort law. This paper aims to analyse the innovative aspects developed in Japan, with the purpose of identifying a model capable of addressing the challenges posed by advanced technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence. In particular, the paper will seek to highlight the most relevant features that may offer new perspectives and insights even beyond Japan’s borders, in light of the global dimension of both climate change and the advent of AI

    Wheelerness and Complementation

Wheeler languages, introduced to capture a class of regular languages compatible with an ordered and indexable structure, form a well-behaved subclass of the regular languages. In this paper, we study a little-explored property of such languages: closure under complementation. Specifically, we provide a complete characterization of Wheeler languages whose complement is also Wheeler. Our results offer a deeper understanding of the internal structure of these languages and have both theoretical implications-within the classification of regular languages-and practical applications, particularly in fields leveraging coherent orderings, such as text indexing and genomic data analysis

Effect of must temperature and aspergillopepsin-I supplementation on PR-protein derived peptides

Protein instability in wines is challenging, and despite many efforts to find satisfactory alternatives to bentonite, both in terms of stability and quality, the solutions are limited in the wine industry. Among those proposed, aspergillopepsin-I supplementation (AP-I) completely stabilises wine when combined with the flash heating of musts, without compromising wine quality [1, 2]. However, the pasteurisation of must remains an arduous and economically disadvantaged process. Nevertheless, AP-I supplementation during fermentation has been reported to improve stability indices [3] through a mechanism that is still not fully explained. This study investigates the effect of AP-I supplementation on the number and concentration of peptides resulting from the degradation of grape-derived proteins and the influence of temperature and reaction time. A Gewürztraminer grape must was heated at 20°C, 30°C, and 40°C in the presence or absence of AP-I (100 μg/L). The temperature was maintained for 1, 180, and 360 min, after which the musts samples were frozen, until analysis. The peptide composition of the samples was analysed using high-throughput ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography coupled to data-independent acquisition-based ion mobility separation-enabled high resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-DIA-IMS-HRMS) and peptide mapping was conducted according to [4], [5]. AP-I supplementation significantly increased both the number of individual peptides (up to +51% at 40°C) and the abundance (up to +120% at 20°C) of grape-derived peptides. A statistically significant increase was observed regardless of temperature and was consistent across all analysed protein derivatives (Chitinases, PR-protein, Polyphenol oxidases, and Thaumatin-like proteins). Regarding reaction time, all treatment intervals increased both the number and concentration of grape-derived peptides with respect to the untreated control. However, extended treatment duration did not result in a further increase, potentially indicating an elevated rate of reaction with proteins suspected to be degraded. The addition of AP-I to grape must, enlarged the peptides pool within the grape juice, also at temperature below 40°C. This new approach in the use of the enzyme is suggesting a proteolytic effect not only when AP-I is coupled with high temperature

Evaluating Factors Influencing Dynamic Modulus Prediction: GRA-MLR Compared with Sigmoidal Modelling for Asphalt Mixtures with Reclaimed Asphalt

    No full text
The dynamic modulus of asphalt mixtures (|E*|) is a key mechanical parameter in the design of road pavements, yet direct laboratory testing is time- and resource-intensive. This study evaluates two predictive models for estimating |E*| using data from 62 asphalt mixtures containing reclaimed asphalt: a grey relational analysis–multiple linear regression (GRA-MLR) hybrid model and a mechanistic sigmoidal model. The results showed that the GRA-MLR model effectively identifies influential variables but achieved moderate predictive accuracy (R2 values varying from 0.4743 to 0.6547). In contrast, the sigmoidal model outperformed across all temperature conditions (R2 > 0.96) and produced predictions deviating by less than ±20% from measured values. Temperature-dependent shifts in factor influence were observed, with stiffness and gradation dominating at low temperatures and reclaimed asphalt (RA) content becoming more significant at higher temperatures. While the GRA-MLR model is advantageous, offering rapid assessments and early-stage evaluations, the sigmoidal model offers the precision suited for detailed design. Integrating both models can balance computational efficiency and provide a balanced strategy, with strong predictive reliability to advance mechanistic–empirical pavement design

Cinema Indipendente Italiano (1961-1976/77). Storiografia, campo discorsivo, crisi epistemica

    No full text
–– This study examines the discursive regimes through which Italian Independent Cinema (CII), active between 1961 and 1977, has been defi ned, marginalized, or erased in Italian film historiographies produced between 1970 and 1982. Based on a selected body of critical and historiographic texts, the investigation revolves around two core questions: which discursive conditions have enabled—or obstructed—the articulation of cii as a historical object? And how do these confi gurations refl ect epistemic, ideological, and ontological tensions within Italian fi lm historiography? The methodological approach combines a diachronic reading, which traces the development and transformation of discourses over time, with a transversal analysis that relates theoretical frameworks, interpretive categories, and thresholds of legitimacy. Within this framework, CII emerges not as an object to be retrospectively integrated into the history of cinema, but as an active discursive field—one that disrupts conventional logics of historical visibility. Its intermittent, unstable presence—irreducible to the prevailing categories of the Seventies and early Eighties—puts pressure on historiographical assumptions and invites a redefi nition of the relationship between critical practices, acts of memory, and the production of historical knowledge
