Arsenic in Water and Food: Toxicity and Human Exposure
Arsenic is a human carcinogen present in drinking water and food, especially rice, rice products and seafood. It can be found in both organic and inorganic forms, the latter being the most toxic. In addition to the carcinogenic effect, exposure to inorganic arsenic can cause numerous disorders in different organs/systems of the human body, such as the skin, cardiovascular, neurological, endocrine, immune, and reproductive systems. The risk assessment associated with dietary arsenic is mainly based on the margin of exposure, i.e., the ratio between the dose at which a small but measurable adverse effect may occur and the estimated daily intake of the target substance. It is mainly influenced by arsenic concentrations and consumption data of average or 95th percentile consumers. This review focuses on the toxicity of arsenic, its sources and routes of human exposure, with particular attention to the ingestion of contaminated water and food, considering the differences between age groups and dietary habits

Plant-Derived Exosomes: Nano-Inducers of Cross-Kingdom Regulations
Exosomes are essential components produced by all cell types, originating from the endosomal pathway through the invagination of the cell membrane. Their unique physicochemical characteristics are crucial for various commercial applications. Typically, exosomes range in size from 50 to 200 nm. Exosomes derived from plant cells are larger than their animal cell counterparts and demonstrate a broader therapeutic potential. This review explores the promising research opportunities associated with plant-derived exosomes, summarizing studies on their biogenesis, characterization, isolation methods, and therapeutic applications. It also emphasizes the importance of targeted drug delivery and provides insights into engineering plant-derived exosomes with various drugs. Additionally, highlights of plant-derived exosomes as natural nano-inducers that facilitate inter-kingdom communication and cross-kingdom regulatory interactions are also elucidated herein. Henceforth, this study culminates in a multidimensional insight for innovative therapeutic strategies and biotechnological advancements in plant-derived exosome research
Musei Virtuali: dall'entusiasmo all'incomprensione
Virtual museums have attracted great interest over time, but remain conceptually undefined and controversial. They originally denoted little more than a simple website, while with the advent of Web 2.0 and new technologies they have become a complex entity encompassing a plurality of multimedia forms. This evolution has highlighted the difficulties of cultural workers in understanding digital technologies. The author aims to review the history of the concept and its applications, offering a new definition of a virtual museum that clarifies its usefulness for more effective cultural dissemination. To do so, the limitations of current definitions and the role of emerging technologies, such as virtual reality and gamification, in redefining the museum experience will be analyzed. In addition, practical guidance will be provided on how to structure effective virtual museums, going beyond the mere digitization of physical collections
