No full textSylvia Midgett Smith, 87, of Hampstead, North Carolina died on Sunday 20 March 2022. She was born in Pender County on 27 July 1934, the child of Roland and Rachel Shingleton Midgett. Mrs. Smith was the wife of Bobby Ray Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Hampstead and a member of Hampstead Baptist Church. Her remains were interred in the Smith Family Cemetery in Kelly, NC. Kathy Pei O'Shea
No full textKathy Pei O'Shea was born 21 January 1947 in China. Her father served as a General in the Republic of China Army. At two years of age, O'Shea and her family fled to Taiwan when the Communist Party took over in China. There she grew up with her three brothers, eventually attending college in Taiwan and receving a bachelor's degree in finance. Following graduation she married and immigrated to the United States, where her only daughter was born. O'Shea began her professional career as a financial analyst for Atari, General Electric, Wang Laboratories and Digital Equipment Corporation. In 1984, she married Bill O'Shea and moved to the Bahamas, where Bill was the Officer in Charge of U. S. Customs. Upon retiring from Digital Equipment Corporation in 1989, the O'Sheas relocated to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Her husband died in May 2021 and Mrs. O'Shea died on 21 September 2021. Kingoff, Janice S.
No full textJanice Specter Kingoff was born 5 June 1937 in Richmond, Virginia (USA), the daughter of Hyman and Bertha Specter. She attended Women's College in Greensboro, NC and graduated from UNC Wilmington in 1977 with a business degree. She married William Kingoff. Mrs. Kingoff was part owner of Kingoff's Jewelers and worked in the family business for 63 years. She dedicated her life to her family, community and B'Nai Israel Synagogue. She died 20 July 2021 and her remains interred at B'Bai Israel Cemetery, Wilmington, NC. Obituary, Star News 22 July 2021, page 4
