    Arbury Daryl Hooker was drafted in June of 1969 into the U.S. Army Special Forces and served with Project Phoenix during the Vietnam War (1970-1973). During his military career he was stationed in Korea from 1973-1974, Ft. Bragg from 1974-1976, Ft. Greely, Alaska in 1979, Ft. Eustis from 1979-1983 and served with Task Force 160th Delta Force from 1983-1987 and in 1987, the Virginia Army National Guard.     An infantry officer, Colonel Dabney served 37 years in the Marine Corps, including two tours in Vietnam, and earned numerous citations, including the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and two Vietnamese Crosses of Gallantry, and the Navy Cross. While in Vietnam, he commanded India Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, on Hill 881S during the Battle of Khe Sanh, for which he was awarded the Navy Cross in 2005
