Paper’s Literature Review : Urgency making OHN Sciences at Indonesian Nursing Institution to preparation Profetionality of OHN Manpower
Get PDFThe OHN (Occupational Health Nurse) profession or what we may know as nurses who work in industry/companies is a scope of work for nurses which is currently only becoming a trend and issue for the nursing profession. Not a few fellow nurses and students are interested in becoming OHN, especially regarding more guaranteed welfare. However, up to now there are still very few nursing campuses or universities that provide lecture courses on OHN, because there is no specific curriculum that mentions OHN courses up to Master\u27s Degree level, currently there are 2 groups that include this course in Community nursing cluster and K3 and Patient Safety courses. Based on existing phenomena, most students and even fellow nurses know and understand the OHN profession after attending HIPERKES Paramedic training. So it is hoped that through this research in the future OHN courses will be held in Indonesian Nursing education institutions. Through this research, it is hoped that at the same time, professional Indonesian OHN human resources will be prepared in line with the country\u27s goal of becoming a resilient industry by 2030, which will result in many opportunities for nurses to work in industry
Theoretical Perspectives of Occupational Health Nurses (OHN) career in Indonesia
Get PDFBackground: According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS, 2020), the number of medium-large industries in 2019 in Indonesia 30,381. This number is followed by the growth in healthcare services, which is classified as the highest among 17 existing sectors (Databoks, 2020). These opportunities and challenges prove that from the OHN employment perspective, the prospects for the OHN professionals are very promising. In terms of education where nursing specialization in Indonesia is still very limited, the career of the OHN corporate nursing profession needs to be analyzed and explored.Purposes: This review aims to enhance the understanding of OH nurses' careers in an increasingly dynamic educational environment, provides comprehensive understanding of the world of work for OHN nurses, and offers future research direction.Method: The methods used was to review three career model Career Framework, Change Model by Kotter and comparing with the competency-based by Delphi Model and Quinn Model. The results of the analysis and exploration were applied with a review of the nursing education system by the Ministry of Health, the National Education System, Ministry of Higher Education (Ristekdikti), Development and Empowerment of Healthcare Human Recources (BPPSDM), OHN Career Guide Canada and several journals of the last five years, from 2016 to 2020.Result: The review shows there is significant relationship between nursing education career paths in Indonesia and the flow and structure recommended by the three models in general nursing career, not specifically in the OHN perspectives

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
On-site occupational health services implemented at Worzalla Company
Get PDFPlan BThe purpose of this study will be to analyze the limited / non-occupational health support at Worzalla Publishing Company (WPC) which places the firm at risk for incurring elevated recordable incidents and increased worker compensation expenses. The objectives of this study are to:
1. Provide a framework for management support and outsourcing for an On-Site Occupational Health Nurse.
2. Provide guidelines for implementation of an On-Site Occupational Health Nurse program.
3. Provide data to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of having an On-Site Occupational Health Nurse and the benefits that can be contributed and dispersed throughout the company environment.
A significant part of WPC’s business is to manufacture high quality juvenile market books. The manufacturing process often involves a high frequency & repetition of associate’s upper extremities. Statistics indicate that nearly one-third of manufacturing associates were incurring musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s) related to the upper extremities. Therefore, without implementing adequate occupational health intervention to minimize the ergonomic risks, the current non-occupational health practices at WPC may place the organization at risk of increased recordable incidents to the associates and elevated worker compensation expenses. In order to analyze the current exposures, the OSHA 200 & 300 logs must be broken down to identify ergonomic issues and body parts affected. The next step is to analyze the Detailed Loss Information Reports for Worker Compensation to examine the total incurred costs associated with the identified losses. Once the recordable incidents have been identified, WPC must incorporate the perceptions of the current and future roles and activities of the occupational health nurse and the nurse’s value added contributions to the facility. This will be accomplished by evaluating the current federal regulations / standards (OSHA, ANSI) and recognized industry specific and risk control principles for minimizing and/or eliminating the risks associated with ergonomic issues. Based upon this information, recommendations regarding an On-Site Occupational Health Nurse at WPC will be proposed to help reduce or eliminate the recordable incidents and the worker compensation expenses for the employees and the company
