Wydział Filologii Polskiej i Klasycznej UAM w PoznaniuCelem rozprawy doktorskiej Pisarstwo krytycznoliterackie Michała Grabowskiego jest zaprezentowanie i analiza autorskiej wizji krytyka dotyczącej rozwoju literatury romantycznej. Przedstawiał on pomysły, diagnozy i deklaracje, które razem tworzą mozaikowy obraz kultury, literatury i sztuki romantycznej. The aim of this graduation thesis entitled Critical Literary Texts by Michał Grabowski is to present and analyze the author’s visions regarding the development of literature. Grabowski’s criticism is characterized by a conciliatory tone, and the author seems to only provide readers with advice. It is one of many romantic models of criticism which based on a rhetorical influence on the reader’s choices. He used rhetorical strategies and started a discussion on national literature issues. His statements also show that he wanted to control the development of literature and its reception. My primary objective was to learn how the author understood his own literary critical skills. Analysis of Grabowski's critical method is very important for reflection on criticism itself, because his work may be treated as a "mirror" of the era. My dissertation about Michał Grabowski may be regarded as an invitation to a discussion on what factors determined critical thinking in the 19th century. Texts by Michał Grabowski constitutes an interesting collection of points of view (sometimes complementary, sometimes contrary), which express interest in Polish literature. He presented ideas, diagnoses and declarations which all together to form a mosaic picture of culture, literature and art

Religious poems and the poetry of faith. From history and theology to poetics – around one poem by a poet from the “Topos constellation”

    No full text
The article deals with Polish poetry of the last twenty years. The author refers to the phenomenon of religious poetry, distinguishing it from poetry referring only to Christian culture, and somehow ignoring the references to directly experienced Catholic faith. He tries to answer the question whether there are formal determinants of the poetics of poems inspired by religious imagination and sensitivity, and theological dogmas. The main part of the essay is a detailed interpretation of the poem of one of the poets from the so-called “Topos constellation” group, which the author regards as an example of the poetics of Catholic sensitivity.ARTUR GRABOWSKI, dr hab., profesor na Wydziale Polonistyki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, zajmuje się głównie poezją i dramatem XX wieku, komparatystyką, teorią literatury i teatru. THE “I” IN CRITICISM. ON THE LITERARY CRITICAL AWARENESS OF MICHAŁ GRABOWSKI IN HIS CORRESPONDENCE TO JÓZEF BOHDAN ZALESKI

    No full text
Letters of Michał Grabowski, a romantic novelist and critic, are an example of per-sonal correspondence dominated by reflections on literature and its transformations. In his correspondence, the author often addressed the issue of functioning on the literary scene. My primary objective was to understand how the author evaluated and understood his own literary critical skills. Grabowski’s remarks on himself (and also on the role of a “professional reader”) will allow one to recognize and then to better understand the formation process of his literary critical awareness. In the letters to Józef Bohdan Zaleski we can find comments on the practices of crit-ics and the development of their opinions about individual authors and their works. Therefore, this article is merely a selection of examples that will be used for a more pro-found analysis of the mechanisms of creating a critic’s image

O uniwersaliach tłumaczeniowych w wybranych współczesnych polskich tłumaczeniach literackich

Niniejsze badanie o charakterze pilotażowym dotyczy wykorzystania wybranych metod badawczych językoznawstwa korpusowego i stylistyki komputerowej w analizie uniwersaliów tłumaczeniowych na materiale wybranych współczesnych polskich tłumaczeń literackich. This pilot study attempts to examine the potential of selected corpus linguistics and computational stylistics methods in the investigation of translation universals in translational literary Polish. More specifically, the study deals with T-universals (after Chesterman 2004), which are also referred to as intralingual translation universals (Grabowski 2011), with emphasis on core patterns of lexical use, as proposed by Laviosa (1998, 2002), and the leveling-out hypothesis, as proposed by Baker (1996). To that end, the custom-designed corpora, with approximately 500,000 tokens each, of contemporary translational and non-translational literary Polish were compiled. The results of the study reveal that on the whole translated texts are more varied lexically and have more repetitions and lower lexical variety among top-frequency words than non-translated Polish texts. On the other hand, the study shows that non-translational texts have higher lexical variety among bottom-frequency words, where usually one can find author-specific and creative vocabulary. The results of multivariate methods (Principal Components Analysis and Cluster Analysis) confirm the leveling-out hypothesis that translations are more alike as compared with native texts

(A) Tissue GlcCer species in the lungs, livers, spleens and brains from 9-wk of WT, WT+GCStg, 9V/null and 9V/null+GCStg mice were quantitated by LC/MS analysis. The concentration of each GlcCer species was plotted as pmol/mg tissue (Y-axis) in bar graph vs. GlcCer species in X-axis. *, p<0.05 and **, p<0.001 were from one-way ANOVA analysis by comparison of 9V/null and 9V/null+GCStg. (B) Tissue GlcCer species patterns. Each GlcCer species was presented as the percentage of total amount of GlcCer species (Y-axis) in each tissue as indicated. The ratios of each GlcCer species in WT and 9V/null tissues were similar to that in their GCStg counterpart tissues. 9V/null lung had increased GlcCer 24−0 species. Experiments were done in triplicate and repeated at least twice. Results with error bars are mean ±S.E.</p

“Fire and sand” — About the Last Period of the Norwid’s Life and Work Based on Elegy “Na zgon Poezji”

The purpose of this article is to analyse one of the leastknown works of the poet — the elegy “Na zgon Poezji”. This is the one of the last three Norwid’s works, and, moreover, the first which is opening the last period of Promethidion’s author writings. Abandoned, condemned to poverty and obscurity poet is experiencing a period of deep collapse, which, however, doesn’t permit him to stay silent. By reference to Norwid’s works, correspondence and biography the author of this paper will try to reconstruct the least known phase of his life – the residence in the shelter of St. Casimir in Ivry.Udostępnienie publikacji Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego finansowane w ramach projektu „Doskonałość naukowa kluczem do doskonałości kształcenia”.
