    NTR-Helsinki : Hankkeesta vakinaiseksi työmuodoksi

Jalkautuva nuorisotyö on nuorisotyöllisenä menetelmänä ollut jo pitkään, 1950-luvulta saakka. Helsingin kaupungin Nuorisopalveluilla on monipuolinen ja laaja kirjo toimintoja, joista jalkautuva nuorisotyö on yksi. Helsingin kaupungilla on kaksi jalkautuvaa tiimiä, Stadin Jalkautujat ja Nuorisotyö raiteilla, eli Ntr-Helsinki. Ntr on hanke joka alkoi Vantaalla vuonna 2015. Hanke on laajentunut kattamaan useita pääkaupunkiseudun kaupunkeja ja kuntia. Mukana on Vantaa, Espoo, Helsinki, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi ja Järvenpää. Jalkautuvaa nuorisotyötä tehdään vahvasti kuntarajoja ylittävällä yhteistyöllä ja verkostotyöskentely on erittäin tärkeää. Hanke loppuu huhtikuussa 2021.

Teacher Report Forms (TRF) and Conners' Teacher Rating Scale ( short version - Revised ) in twins and siblings registered with the Netherlands Twin Registry (NTR)

The data were collected between 1999 and 2013 as part of the Netherlands Twin Register (NTR)'s annual teacher survey. The data collection for the teacher surveys is ongoing and each year, the parents of children that are approximately 7, 9 (before 2009 10 years old) and 12 years old are contacted to ask for their permission to approach the teacher(s) of their children. The survey for the primary school teachers includes limited information on the teacher, class and school, items on adaptive functioning of the child at school, the Teacher report Form (TRF) (Achenbach, 2009; Verhulst & van der Ende, 2004) and the short version of the Conners’ Teacher Ratings Scale - Revised (CTRS-R) (Conners et al., 1998; Conners, 2001). The survey data are stored in harmonized databases organized by age at the time of data collection. Since the CTRS-R data was collected separately from the rest of the teacher survey until 2006, it is stored in a separate database. In EASY, the databases from for the different age versions of TRF and CTRS-R can be linked through anonymous identification numbers. Please consult the data manual (DocumentationDataCollectionTRF_NTR.pdf) for more information about the data collection and the relationships between the datasets from the NTR teacher surve

Crystal structure of the neurotrophin-3 and p75 NTR

Neurotrophins (NTs) are important regulators for the survival, differentiation and maintenance of different peripheral and central neurons. NTs bind to two distinct classes of glycosylated receptor: the p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75(NTR)) and tyrosine kinase receptors (Trks). Whereas p75(NTR) binds to all NTs, the Trk subtypes are specific for each NT. The question of whether NTs stimulate p75(NTR) by inducing receptor homodimerization is still under debate. Here we report the 2.6-A resolution crystal structure of neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) complexed to the ectodomain of glycosylated p75(NTR). In contrast to the previously reported asymmetric complex structure, which contains a dimer of nerve growth factor (NGF) bound to a single ectodomain of deglycosylated p75(NTR) (ref. 3), we show that NT-3 forms a central homodimer around which two glycosylated p75(NTR) molecules bind symmetrically. Symmetrical binding occurs along the NT-3 interfaces, resulting in a 2:2 ligand-receptor cluster. A comparison of the symmetrical and asymmetric structures reveals significant differences in ligand-receptor interactions and p75(NTR) conformations. Biochemical experiments indicate that both NT-3 and NGF bind to p75(NTR) with 2:2 stoichiometry in solution, whereas the 2:1 complexes are the result of artificial deglycosylation. We therefore propose that the symmetrical 2:2 complex reflects a native state of p75(NTR) activation at the cell surface. These results provide a model for NTs-p75(NTR) recognition and signal generation, as well as insights into coordination between p75(NTR) and Trks

An evaluation of the environmental impact of an NTR Class AB terrace construction was done in a life cycle perspective. NTR (Nordic Wood Preservation Council) is an industrial trade organization comprising the wood preservation councils of the Nordic countries. Wood preservation plants which fulfil the requirements set forth by NTR can label their products with the NTR label. This study concerns NTR class AB, for products intended for outdoor use, above ground. Main focus was on the global warming potential (GWP). All parts of the terrace were considered including foundation and substructure. Results were compared with alternative terrace materials, Sibe-rian larch, Ipé, WPC (Wood Polymer Composites), and Concrete. Of the different terrace alternatives, NTR Class AB showed the lowest global warming potential (GWP) while WPC showed the highest. The full 30-year life cycle GWP of the 30 m2 NTR AB terrace was 172 kg CO2-eqv corresponding to the CO2 emissions caused by driving an average sized car 1433 km.This report evaluates the environmental impact of a wooden terrace made from pressure treated wood (NTR class AB). The environmental impact is compared to alternative materials – Siberian larch, tropical wood (Ipé), Wood-Plastic Composites (WPC), and concrete. The full life cycle is considered (cradle-to-grave). Dimerization-dependent block of the proapoptotic effect of p75(NTR)

The biochemical mechanism by which neurons become dependent on neurotrophins for survival is unknown. We found previously that the common neurotrophin receptor, p75(NTR), is a mediator of neurotrophin dependence and that this effect requires a novel type of domain dubbed a neurotrophin dependence domain. We report here that, in contrast to other proapoptotic receptors such as Fas, apoptosis induction by p75(NTR) requires monomerization, with dimerization inhibiting the effect. Blocking the proapoptotic effect of the monomer by dimerization requires a distinct domain that lies at the carboxyterminus of p75(NTR). These results define a novel type of domain required for inhibiting apoptosis induction by p75(NTR)
