Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

pentingnya kesehatan dan penampilan telah melahirkan gaya hidup cantik, sehat,
dan bugar. Selain itu banyak kaum wanita yang melibatkan diri dalam kehidupan
metropolis mulai membenahi penampilan diri. Perawatan tubuh kini pun tidak lagi
menjadi masalah biasa.Oleh karena itu, penulis merancang sebuah fasilitas publik
yang menampung segala kebutuhan masyarakat khususnya untuk wanita dalam
menjaga kebugaran dan perawatan tubuh. Bangunan publik tersebut memiliki
fasilitas utama dan beberapa fasilitas pendukung. Fasilitas kebugaran berupa
fitness dan senam, sedangkan fasilitas perawatan tubuh berupa spa dan massage.
Fasilitas pendukung lainnya antara lain mini café, mini apotek, serta ruang terbuka
hijau yang mulai jarang di kota berkembang seperti Solo.
Pusat kebugaran dan perawatan tubuh yang dijadikan pada satu wilayah
yang berdekatan menjadi satu keunggulan dari pada tempat lain. Selain itu
keunggulan terhadap tema/ konsep desain diusung yaitu “Natural Tropis” yang
membuat para pengunjung akan mendapatkan suasana ruang yang berbeda dan
pastinya akan lebih nyaman.
Permasalahan pokok yang dibahas dalam perancangan ini adalah : (1)
Bagaimana merencanakan dan merancang interior “Pusat Kebugaran dan
Perawatan Tubuh” sesuai dengan konsep/ tema natural tropis ?(2) Bagaimana
menciptakan fasilitas serta suasana nyaman pada “Pusat Kebugaran dan
Perawatan Tubuh” ? (3) Bagaimana merancang “Pusat Kebugaran dan Perawatan
Tubuh” dengan tema dan ide gagasan yang diambil secara fungsional namun tetap
estetis?
Tujuan penulisan ini adalah sebagai berikut : (1) Untuk merencanakan dan
merancang interior “Pusat Kebugaran dan Perawatan Tubuh” sesuai dengan
konsep minimalis/ tema natural tropis. (2) Untuk menciptakan fasilitas serta
suasana nyaman pada “Pusat Kebugaran dan Perawatan Tubuh”. (3) Untuk
merancang “Pusat Kebugaran dan Perawatan Tubuh” dengan tema dan ide
gagasan yang diambil secara fungsional namun tetap estetis
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah : 1. Wawancara, 2.
Observasi, 3.Populasi yang sangat membantu dalam penyelesaian desain ini.
Dari analisis di atas dapat disimpulkan, yaitu : 1. Dalam suatu desain
interior fasilitas publik, tema/ konsep “Natural Tropis” harus mendukung desain
pada ruangan untuk menciptakan rasa nyaman di dalam ruang. 2. Desain yang
dibuat hendaknya mampu menampung seluruh aktivitas yang ada di dalam
fasilitas publik
Adaptive Reuse Eks-Bioskop Indra: Transition

ekonomi kota yang pesat. Kegiatan perdagangan kota Surabaya yang pesat diharapakan
juga sejalan dalam bidang lain terutama dalam hal pelestarian bangunan cagar budaya
(BCB).
Pemanfaatan bangunan cagar budaya (BCB) menjadi fungsi jasa dan komersial adalah
jawaban dari masalah pelestarian BCB dan kaitannya dengan kontribusi dalam
perekonomian kota secara aktif.
Objek BCB yang dipilih adalah eks-Bioskop Indra Surabaya. Bangunan bergaya khas
Nieuwe Zakelijkheid ini berdiri sejak 1910. Kondisi bangunan saat ini tidak berfungsi
dan terbengkalai.
Pelestarian eks-Bioskop Indra dilakukan dengan cara adaptasi (adaptive-reuse), yaitu
mengubah eksisting yang terbengkalai untuk difungsikan kembali dengan fungsi baru
(berupa kantor sewa & resto) tanpa menuntut perubahan drastis dan tetap
mempertahankan ciri khas. Konsep form follows form sebagai dasar untuk merancang
massa baru agar selaras dengan bangunan lama. Pendekatan kontekstualisme dan
metode insertion-transition dipilih untuk mencapai keterpaduan antara yang lama dan
baru.

Surabaya became one of the major metropolitan cites in Indonesia with rapid economic
growth. The rapid trading activities of this city is expected to be aligned in other fields,
especially in the term of preserving cultural heritage building.
The utilization of cultural heritage building into a service & commercial function is the
answer for cultural heritage building preservation’s problems and its relation to actively
contribute in city’s economiy.
The chosen cultural heritage building for this final project is Indra’s ex-theater in
Surabaya. This building with particular features of Nieuwe Zakelijkheid style was
estabished in 1910. It is recently unused and abandoned.
The preservation of Indra’s ex-theater is done with adaptation (adaptive-reuse), that is
to change the abandoned existing to be reused with new functions (rental office &
restaurant) without doing drastic changes and retaining its characteristics. The concept
is “form follows form” as a base for designing the new mass to harmonize with the old
building. The contextualism approach and insertion-transition method are chosen to
achieve integration between the old and the new
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Get PDFWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
