    Characterization of Cr(VI) removal from water by Mg-Fe layered double hydroxides

    In the present study, Mg-Fe layered double hydroxides (Mg-Fe LDHs) are prepared by the co-precipitation method at pH: 10 and pH: 12 and used as adsorbents for Cr(VI) removal from aqueous solutions. The XRD analysis confirms the lamellar structure of the prepared hydroxides before calcination and shows the formation of spinel and magnesium oxide after calcination at 500°C. Cr(VI) removal by the prepared  LDHs is favorable at acidic pH. The adsorption process is spontaneous and endothermic. The uncalcined LDH prepared at pH 12 exihibites the lower removal equilibrium time. Whatever the prepared LDH used, the Cr(VI) removal  kinitics is well described by the second-order model and the adsorption isotherm is well described by the Langmuir model. The higher adsorption capacities calculated by Langmuir equation are obtained in the case of the uncalcined LDH(s) for the two preparation pH

    Dealing with Ties in Rank Correlation

    In the field of Information Retrieval (IR), rankings of systems evaluated under different conditions are often compared to each other. This measure of correspondence between rankings, termed as rank correlation, must accurately capture the scenario for which the correlation is computed. Very often, these rankings may have tied systems, for which new correlation coefficients arise. It is important that these coefficients account for the new scenarios in the presence of ties. It is also important that these coefficients provide some flexibility to the person performing the correlation to introduce artificial ties when items are so close to each other that, for practical purposes, they may be considered as tied. Accounting for these different scenarios of tied items in rankings permits performing per topic comparisons of IR systems, which was earlier limited due to the presence of ties on individual topics. Comparing rankings at the topic level, the expected variability of the rankings can be studied to potentially improve the systems on the topics for which they perform poorer than average.     The main problem and research is consumer protection in fintech agreements (online loans) viewed from the perspective of Ibnu Taimiyah and positive law, namely based on POJK, and looking at the extent to which consumer protection has been regulated in Islamic law and positive law. The type of research in writing this thesis uses normative legal research, with a qualitative approach and the data sources used are primary data sources and secondary data sources with data collection techniques in the form of library studies. From the research conducted by the author, it can be concluded thatIbnu Tamiyah's perspective on consumer protection regarding online loan cartels highlights the importance of justice, equality and rejection of exploitation in economic transactions. Through Islamic moral and ethical principles, Ibnu Tamiyah emphasized the need to ensure that business practices do not harm or exploit consumers, and that all parties involved in economic transactions have equal and fair access. Consumer protection from Ibnu Tamiyah's perspective also emphasizes the importance of complying with applicable laws and increasing consumer education and awareness about their rights.Existing fintech (online loan) agreements have not been able to fully protect consumer rights and obligations in accordance with existing legal regulations such as the MUI DSN Fatwa Number 117. Because currently only one regulation for sharia fintech has been used as a source. The main law is the MUI DSN Fatwa Number 117 of 2018 concerning Information Technology-Based Financing Services Based on Sharia Principles. Meanwhile, consumer protection in positive law is based on POJK Number 77 of 2016 and POJK Number 13 of 2018. The author found the fact that the OJK Regulation on Consumer Protection in the financial services sector actually provides protection and in it guarantees order, certainty and justice for consumers, but POJK only regulates one aspects of the online loan agreement, namely conventional online loans

    Jet vetoes versus giant K factors in the exclusive Z+1-jet cross section

    We perform a detailed study of the exclusive Z + 1-jet cross section at the 13 TeV LHC, motivated by the importance of similar exclusive cross sections in understanding the production of the Higgs boson in the W+W- final state. We point out a feature of the ATLAS analysis that has significant impact on the theoretical predictions: the jet isolation criterion implemented by ATLAS effectively allows dijet events where an energetic jet is collinear to a final-state lepton. This process contains a giant K factor arising from the collinear emission of a Z boson from the dijet configuration. This overwhelms the effect of the jet-veto logarithms, making it difficult to test their resummation in this process. We provide numerical results that demonstrate the interplay between the jet-veto logarithms and the giant K factor in the theoretical prediction. We study several observables, including the transverse momentum distributions of the leading jet and the Z boson, in the exclusive Z + 1-jet process, and discuss their sensitivity to both the giant K factor and the jet-veto logarithms.     Darkweb Cyber Threat Intelligence Mining through the I2P Protocol

    abstract: This thesis project focused on malicious hacking community activities accessible through the I2P protocol. We visited 315 distinct I2P sites to identify those with malicious hacking content. We also wrote software to scrape and parse data from relevant I2P sites. The data was integrated into the CySIS databases for further analysis to contribute to the larger CySIS Lab Darkweb Cyber Threat Intelligence Mining research. We found that the I2P cryptonet was slow and had only a small amount of malicious hacking community activity. However, we also found evidence of a growing perception that Tor anonymity could be compromised.     Power corrections in the N-jettiness subtraction scheme

    We discuss the leading-logarithmic power corrections in the N-jettiness subtraction scheme for higher-order perturbative QCD calculations. We compute the next-to-leading order power corrections for an arbitrary N-jet process, and we explicitly calculate the power correction through next-to-next-to-leading order for color-singlet production for both q (q) over bar and gg initiated processes. Our results are compact and simple to implement numerically. Including the leading power correction in the N-jettiness subtraction scheme substantially improves its numerical efficiency.     Higgs boson production in association with a jet using jettiness subtraction

    AbstractWe use the recently proposed jettiness-subtraction scheme to provide the complete calculation of Higgs boson production in association with a jet in hadronic collisions through next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative QCD. This method exploits the observation that the N-jettiness event-shape variable completely describes the singularity structure of QCD when final-state colored particles are present. Our results are in agreement with a recent computation of the gg and qg partonic initial states based on sector-improved residue subtraction. We present phenomenological results for both fiducial cross sections and distributions at the LHC

    W-Boson Production in Association with a Jet at Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order in Perturbative QCD

    We present the complete calculation of W-boson production in association with a jet in hadronic collisions through next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbative QCD. To cancel infrared divergences, we discuss a new subtraction method that exploits the fact that the N-jettiness event-shape variable fully captures the singularity structure of QCD amplitudes with final-state partons. This method holds for processes with an arbitrary number of jets and is easily implemented into existing frameworks for higher-order calculations. We present initial phenomenological results for W + jet production at the LHC. The seller also compares number of each product which sold at a time and can make plans to plan the next sales strategy. By adopting the ADDIE method which in its stages goes through Analyze, Design, Development & Implementation, and Evaluation phases, the author develops a store sales recording application that has CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) as the main feature of number of sales recording compiled with a MySQL database. Bar charts and pie charts are displayed as a visualization of product sales data using Bootstrap.Aktivitas pencatatan penjualan pada toko merupakan hal yang penting. Dengan pencatatan penjualan, penjual dapat meminimalisir kesalahan perhitungan untung dan rugi karena barang yang tidak dicatat. Penjual juga membandingkan jumlah dari masing-masing produk yang terjual dalam suatu waktu dan dapat membuat perencanaan untuk merencanakan strategi penjualan berikutnya.
