UKMARC AMC: Draft Rev 4.0: UK MARC format for archives and manuscripts control (UK MARC AMC)
This draft is the first attempt to establish a UK MARC specifically for Archives and Manuscripts Control since the British Library indicated that it would countenance such extensions to the national UK MARC format. In order to keep consistency with the general UK MARC format, standard UK MARC subject fields are not included in this document, since they should be taken from the latest version of the UK MARC manual. {A note of them should perhaps be included in UK MARC AMC.} {NB Text in braces is intended to be explanatory material for readers of this draft}. Certain other fields have not been included that might occasionally be used in the cataloguing of archival materials but would generally only be used for such materials in organizations which were combining archive
databases with library databases. This MARC version is intended for use with descriptions of archive or anuscript material that follow, or fit, the traditional style of cataloguing: we assume that these will normally relate
to paper or parchment originals. It is not intended for use with descriptions of other kinds of material. For these, fields may be drawn from the appropriate UK MARC document. MARC versions for use with archives in special formats should be developed, in order to complete the full range of facilities available to archivists and curators
Carbon-Based Materials for Humidity Sensing: A Short Review
Humidity sensors are widespread in many industrial applications, ranging from environmental and meteorological monitoring, soil water content determination in agriculture, air conditioning systems, food quality monitoring, and medical equipment to many other fields. Thus, an accurate and reliable measurement of water content in different environments and materials is of paramount importance. Due to their rich surface chemistry and structure designability, carbon materials have become interesting in humidity sensing. In addition, they can be easily miniaturized and applied in flexible electronics. Therefore, this short review aims at providing a survey of recent research dealing with carbonaceous materials used as capacitive and resistive humidity sensors. This work collects some successful examples of devices based on carbon nanotubes, graphene, carbon black, carbon fibers, carbon soot, and more recently, biochar produced from agricultural wastes. The pros and cons of the different sensors are also discussed in the present review
W-doped indium oxide synthetized via hydrothermal route for low temperature ozone sensing
Nano-crystalline indium oxide and tungsten-doped indium oxide were prepared by hydrothermal route and
adopted as ozone sensitive materials at low temperature, comparing their performances with a commercial
indium oxide. After hydrothermal synthesis, powders were calcined at 400 °C for 30 min and characterized by
laser granulometry, thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field
emission scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. Sensors were developed by
screen-printing the sensing materials onto α-alumina substrates with platinum interdigitated electrodes. After
drying overnight, sensors were fired at 600 °C for 1 h in air.
The sensor response was measured in the range 25 °C–200 °C carrying on all measurements in a flow chamber
at a constant flow rate of 1 L/min of dry air in the range 200–500 ppb O3. Response time and recovery time (e.g.,
the times taken for the sensor to attain 90% of total impedance change from its initial impedance value) were
detected, together with cross-sensitivity tests towards NH3, CH4, humidity, CO, NO2, CO2 and N2O.
Sensor's response (R) was defined as the ratio between impedance of the film under gas exposure at the
equilibrium and the impedance under dry air. Best results were obtained at 100 °C, with R equal to 464 under
500 ppb O3. These results are extremely encouraging and support the exploitation of tungsten-doped indium
oxide as low-temperature ozone sensors
In2O3 AND WO3-DOPED In2O3 HYDROTHERMALLY SYNTHETIZED AS PROMISING OZONE SENSITIVE MATERIALS
This work deals with MOS (metal oxide semiconductors) ozone sensors based on n-type In2O3 and 2.5 wt.% WO3-doped In2O3thick film to monitor O3 at sub-ppm level and at low temperatures.
In2O3was synthetized by three different methods, with the aim to decrease the crystallite size and enhance the sensor response towards ozone. Among the differently synthesized powders, pristine In2O3 produced by hydrothermal route (HT) constitutes a valuable platform for the development of O3 detectors, improving the sensor performances compared to the commercial In2O3 (SA). In this work, HT- In2O3 was doped with WO3 by an impregnation route to enhance its sensitivity towards ozone.
Powders were characterized by laser granulometry, X-Ray Diffraction, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy, N2 adsorption and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy. The optimized hydrothermal route allowed to decrease the average crystallite size, since it was around 26 nm for HT-powder and 48 nm for SA-powder. The cross-sensitivity under humidity, NO2, N2O, NH3, CH4 and CO2 was also investigated and doping with WO3 by impregnation route increase the sensitivity towards ozone decreasing the cross-sensitivity under humidity and nitrogen dioxide
