Comparative corrosion resistance properties between (Cu, Ce)-DLC and Ti co-doped (Cu, Ce)/Ti-DLC films prepared via magnetron sputtering method
Element co-doping is an effective fashion to improve the properties of carbon-based film and amplify its application area. Here, (Cu, Ce)-DLC and (Cu, Ce)/Ti-DLC films were successfully prepared via magnetron sputtering. Evolutions of surface/interface morphology, microstructure and wettability of as-prepared films were investigated systematically to in-depth analysis the relationship between their microstructure and anti-corrosion capability. (Cu, Ce)/Ti-DLC film possessed a thicker thickness compared to (Cu, Ce)DLC film. Raman spectra of as-prepared films exposed quintessential features of carbon peak. Scanning vibrating electrode technique revealed the local electrochemical corrosion process of films. Particularly, (Cu, Ce)/Ti-DLC film could demonstrate superior anti-corrosion ability. Rare earth Ce-modified (Ti,Ce)/a-C:H carbon-based film on WC cemented carbide substrate
WC cemented carbide suffers severe wear in water environments. A novel carbon-based film could be a feasible way to overcome this drawback. In this study, a rare earth Ce-modified (Ti,Ce)/a-C:H carbon-based film is successfully prepared on WC cemented carbide using a DC reactive magnetron sputtering process. The microstructure, mechanical properties, and tribological behavior of the as-prepared carbon-based film are systematically investigated. The results show that the doping Ti forms TiC nanocrystallites that are uniformly dispersed in the amorphous carbon matrix, whereas the doping Ce forms CeO2 that exists with the amorphous phase in the co-doped (Ti,Ce)/a-C:H carbon-based film. The mechanical properties of this (Ti,Ce)/a-C:H film exhibit remarkable improvements, which could suggest higher hardness and elastic modulus as well as better adhesive strength compared to solitary Ti-doped Ti/a-C:H film. In particular, the as-prepared (Ti,Ce)/a-C:H film presents a relatively low friction coefficient and wear rate in both ambient air and deionized water, indicating that (Ti,Ce)/a-C:H film could feasibly improve the tribological performance of WC cemented carbide in a water environment
Support vector machine classifier via L<sub>0/1</sub> soft-margin loss
Support vector machine (SVM) has attracted great attentions for the last two decades due to its extensive applications, and thus numerous optimization models have been proposed. To distinguish all of them, in this paper, we introduce a new model equipped with an L 0/1 soft-margin loss (dubbed as L 0/1-SVM) which well captures the nature of the binary classification. Many of the existing convex/non-convex soft-margin losses can be viewed as a surrogate of the L 0/1 soft-margin loss. Despite the discrete nature of L 0/1, we manage to establish the existence of global minimizer of the new model as well as revealing the relationship among its minimizers and KKT/P-stationary points. These theoretical properties allow us to take advantage of the alternating direction method of multipliers. In addition, the L 0/1-support vector operator is introduced as a filter to prevent outliers from being support vectors during the training process. Hence, the method is expected to be relatively robust. Finally, numerical experiments demonstrate that our proposed method generates better performance in terms of much shorter computational time with much fewer number of support vectors when against with some other leading methods in areas of SVM. When the data size gets bigger, its advantage becomes more evident
Investigation of dual-ported shroud casing in a centrifugal compressor: aerodynamic performance and aeroacoustics
The dual-ported shroud casing has two ports over the impeller section in a centrifugal compressor, different from the traditional ported shroud casing. This paper uses numerical simulations and experiments to investigate the effects of the dual-ported shroud on the centrifugal compressor, including aerodynamic performance and aeroacoustics. According to the experimentally measured compressor performance map, the novel finding is that the dual-port casing treatment extends the compressor operating range by improving the instability margin and increasing the compressor choke flow capacity. The mechanism contributing to the choke flow capacity increase is the bypass function. The dual-ported shroud casing bypasses a part of the air to enter the impeller channels at the blade tips without going through the impeller geometry throat. Besides the benefits, the efficiency and aero-acoustic measurements identify the disadvantages of the dual-ports casing treatment: the peak efficiency deterioration at high rotational speeds and louder noise emission at the compressor inlet
CE Challenges: Work to Do
CE has been used for more than two decades now. Despite many successes and advantages, there are still many challenges to be addressed. These challenges are both technical and organisational. In the paper we will address the current challenges of CE. Many challenges are related to the exchange of data and knowledge and to the systems that make data and knowledge exchange possible. Although much progress has been made in enabling extensive data and knowledge exchange and use, much remains to be wished. For example, there are still barriers to data exchange. Technically, these barriers may consist of different formats, differences in infrastructures and systems, and different semantics. There are also organisational and political barriers. For example, investment in information system may heavily impact upstream suppliers, while revenues of better information exchange may predominantly be gained by downstream actors. Without sharing costs and revenues, chain-wide information exchange will not be easily realised. Another barrier is the possible lack of willingness to share information, because of potential misuse of knowledge and loss of power. The paper is organised as follows. First we will describe the current manifestation of CE as described in a recent book. Second, we will list current trends in CE. Third, we will present some Critical Success Factors (CSFs) that are considered relevant for implementing and adapting CE practices. Last, we indicate some research and practical questions to be addressed, especially for areas that have a high potential and actual impact. </p

Tenu de manière continue entre janvier 1937 et juin 1945, le journal personnel de Zhou Fohai est une source inestimable sur la guerre sino‑japonaise et le gouvernement collaborateur de Nankin, dont Zhou fut l’un des principaux acteurs. L’intérêt de ce document tient aussi à l’histoire de sa transmission jusqu’à aujourd’hui qui fut, paradoxalement, rendue en partie possible par la Révolution culturelle.Kept continuously between January 1937 and June 1945, Zhou Fohai’s diary is an inestimable source on the Sino‑Japanese war and the Wang Jingwei regime, in which Zhou played a preponderant role. The value of this document also stems from the history of its transmission itself, which, ironically enough, was made possible thanks to the Cultural Revolution
Magnetic Properties and Microstructure of Melt-Spun Ce-Fe-B Magnets
A series of CexFebalB6 (x = 12, 14, 17, 19, and 23 wt%) ternary ribbons was prepared by melt-spinning. Magnetic properties and the microstructure of the Ce-Fe-B ribbons with different Ce contents were investigated. The X-ray diffraction results indicated that multiphase coexisted in the as-spun Ce-Fe-B ribbons, which contained Ce2Fe17, CeFe2, Ce-rich phase, Fe-rich phase, cerium oxide, and iron oxide. The magnetic properties, microstructure, and phase composition of the ribbons were directly affected by the cerium content. The magnetic properties could be obtained by exchange coupling between the hard and soft magnetic phases in the pure ternary Ce-Fe-B ribbons. Furthermore, by heat treatment, the magnetic properties of the as-spun Ce-Fe-B ribbons could be optimized. The highest magnetic properties of H-cj = 6.2 kOe, B-r = 6.9 kGs, and (BH)(m) = 8.6 MGOe were obtained in Ce17FebalB6 magnets
Vers une écriture sans enjeu : Zhou Zuoren et le zawen
L’œuvre de Zhou Zuoren est souvent lue comme l’antithèse de celle de Lu Xun. Celle-ci serait le parangon de l’écriture combative, tandis que celle-là illustrerait une écriture oisive qui aurait déserté le combat social et culturel. Cette lecture est d’autant plus tentante que les deux auteurs semblent avoir d’abord parcouru un chemin analogue, comme de brillants polémistes porteurs des idées du Quatre Mai. Mais alors que la littérature est pour Lu Xun une arme, Zhou Zuoren est sceptique sur l’effet qu’elle peut avoir sur le lecteur. Pour lui, sa raison d’être est d’abord de permettre à l’auteur de s’exprimer. Elle ne pourra jouer pleinement ce rôle qu’une fois libérée de l’illusion de son rôle positif dans le combat social ou culturel. Il faut donc désengager et désacraliser la littérature pour la rendre à ce qu’elle est fondamentalement : l’expression libre d’un auteur.Zhou Zuoren’s work is often read as the antithesis of Lu Xun’s. The latter is said to be the para-gon of combative writing, while the former illustrates an idle writing that has deserted the so-cial and cultural struggle. This reading is all the more tempting as both authors seem to have initially followed a similar path, as brilliant polemicists carrying the ideas of May Fourth. But while literature is a weapon for Lu Xun, Zhou Zuoren is sceptical about the effect it can have on the reader. For him, its raison d’être is first and foremost to allow the author to express him-self. It can only play this role fully once it is freed from the illusion of its positive role in the so-cial or cultural struggle. It is therefore necessary to disengage and desacralize literature in or-der to return it to what it fundamentally is: the free expression of an author
