Isokinetic assessment of the female's soccer player's knee. A systematic review of outcomes measures
Background: Isokinetic normative data in females' soccer players is scarce in comparison to males. Furthermore, evaluation protocols employed to obtain those data in female's studies, strongly differ from each other, using different ranges of speeds and movement patterns, thus producing different output data. Thus, it is difficult for the researcher and the clinician to choose a correct protocol for knee isokinetic test in female soccer players. Aim of this paper is to review the literature to provide updated information on how to interpret a knee isokinetic testing in healthy females. Methods: Google Scholar, PubMed, Sport Discus, and Psych info databases were queried, and 17 papers were selected. Following PRISMA methodology and PEDro scale, we classified the retrieved papers and assessed the quality. Results: In this review some common features of isokinetic testing in female soccer players of various levels of qualification are highlighted. The isokinetic performance indexes widely accepted are the hamstring/quadriceps (H/Q) ratio and dominant/non-dominant (D/ND) ratio. It also emerges that, 3 reps at the speed of 60°/sec in knee flexion/extension are preferable due to the higher reliability and that the optimal H/Q ratio in healthy female soccer players of different level of qualification and age is 50%, while the interlimb differences (D/ND) should be below 10%. Conclusions: Normative data and methodologies reviewed can be useful for the isokinetic test of female soccer players. It emerges that simplifying test procedures limiting at few testing speed and considering selected H/Q and D/ND gives all the necessary relevant informations

M.Phil.Despite the various magnetic orders mediated by superexchange mechanism, the existence of a long range antiferromagnetic (AFM) coupling is unknown. In this thesis, we investigate the carrier free long range AFM coupling in four chalcopyrite systems CuInTe₂, CuGaTe₂, AgInTe₂ and AgGaTe₂. Based on DFT calculations, we discovered an intrinsic long range AFM coupling in V doped case. The AFM coupling is mainly due to the p - d coupling and electron redistribution along the interacting chains. The relatively small energy difference between p and d orbitals and the small energy difference between d orbitals of the dopants and that of stepping stone sites can enhance the stability of this AFM configuration. A multi-bands Hubbard model was proposed to provide fundamental understanding to the long range AFM coupling in chalcopyrite diluted magnetic semiconductors(DMS). Thesis M.Phil. P-regular splitting iterative methods for non-Hermitian positive definite linear systems
We study the convergence of P-regular splitting iterative methods for non-Hermitian positive definite linear systems. Our main result is that P-regular splittings of the form A = M - N, where N = N*, are convergent. Natural examples of splittings satisfying the convergence conditions are constructed, and numerical experiments are performed to illustrate the convergence results obtained. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Corporate governance, firm performance and Chinese state enterprise reform / Zhang Cheng
While corporate governance continues to play an important role in economic development, corporate governance issues are more complex in transition economies than in the developed market economies. Consequently, policy makers in transition economies have been busy attempting to establish a sound corporate governance system in their countries. This study uses China as a laboratory to explore corporate governance issues, as China is not only the most populous economy in the world, it is also undergoing transition from a socialist to a market economy since 1978. The need for strengthening corporate governance in the country has become all the more pressing as rapid economic growth has transformed the economy since especially the 1990s. China experienced a watershed in corporate governance when the split-share structure reform was introduced. Hence, we analyse in this thesis the impact of this reform on board composition, firm performance, and firm risk over the period before and after the introduction of the reform. Firms are classified by ownership into central government, local government, state owned enterprise (SOE) and privately controlled firms based on ultimate controlling shareholders. The study deploys static and dynamic panel data estimation methods to examine the determinants of corporate board composition, relationships between corporate governance mechanisms and firm performance, and the relationships between corporate governance mechanisms and firm risk. The results show that Chinese corporate board composition is jointly determined by the scope of operation (resource dependent theory), monitoring (agency theory), bargaining (power theory), other governance mechanisms (stakeholder theory) and regulations (institution theory). The government was the most important player in constituting board composition before the split-share structure reform was introduced, but independent directors became more important than other governance mechanisms after that. Private firms and SOEs are more concerned about cost than other factors when adding independent directors. Also, corporate board exerts a positive influence on firm performance once the share of independent directors reached 30 percent. Although the supervisory board can make up for the inadequate number of independent directors, its role became insignificant after the reform. Central government controlled firms show outstanding accounting and market performance. While increasing corporate board size reduced firm risk, its independence increased firm risk. State ownership and ownership concentration increased firm risk after reforms. Overall, the findings confirm the applicability of corporate governance theories to China. Other transition economies can draw lessons from the institutional change that have played a significant role in the evolving Chinese corporate governance system. Government-controlled firms should be more market-oriented so as to reduce the unnecessary influence of political power on firms activities. It also sheds light on the partial privatization approach that may work for other transition economies
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
