Analysis of Moral Message in “Buzz” Album by Niki Zefanya
No full textABSTRACT: This study explores the moral messages found in the lyrics of the Buzz album by Niki Zefanya, an Indonesian singer who writes and performs in English. The album contains 13 songs, each filled with emotional and reflective content that offers listeners insights into life, relationships, and personal growth. This research employs a qualitative method with a moral criticism approach to analyse how Niki communicates values such as empathy, resilience, and self-awareness through figurative language and storytelling. The data were collected by carefully listening to each song while reading the lyrics and examining the feelings or conditions of the author when writing the song. The collected data were analysed using Narrative Analysis for Moral Values, identifying stories, emotions, and cultural contexts within the lyrics to uncover and categorize moral themes. The findings show that, although the messages are not stated directly, they can be felt and understood through careful interpretation. This study aims to help listeners, especially non-native English speakers, understand the deeper meanings behind English song lyrics and encourage more thoughtful listening experiences.

Analysis of Figurative Language Used in Selected Song Lyrics by Niki Zefanya
No full textThis study analyzes of the figurative language used in the song lyrics by Niki Zefanya. This research aims to find out the figurative language used in the lyrics of the song lyrics. This method uses qualitative data to find out the figurative language contained used in selected the lyrics songs entitled "Autumn", and "Lowkey" "Too many good things" by Niki Zefanya which have been released and received many viewers. Data collection uses observation techniques using the theory (Abrams, 2018) to categorize figurative language. The results of this study found 9 data from 10 types of figurative language displayed. In the selected lyrics of the song by Niki Zefanya, there are types of figurative language, such as metaphor, simile, hyperbole, personification, synecdoche, allusion, symbolism, metonymy, and irony. The researcher concluded that the most common figurative languages found used in selected the lyrics of the song by Niki Zefanya are hyperbole

No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa penggunaan skema citra pada lirik lagu. Penelitian ini menjelaskan penggunaan skema gambar yang direpresentasikan dalam lagu-lagu Niki Zefanya. Tujuan penelitian yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk memeriksa beberapa jenis skema gambar yang diwakili dalam lagu-lagu Niki Zefanya, dan untuk menyelidiki interpretasi di balik penggunaan skema gambar. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif serta semantik kognitif diterapkan sebagai desain penelitian dari penelitian ini. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah empat lagu dari Niki Zefanya. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis berdasarkan teori metafora menurut (Lakoff Johnson, 2013) dan teori skema citra menurut (Cruse Croft, 2004). Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa peneliti menemukan beberapa jenis metafora konseptual dan skema gambar dalam lagu-lagu Niki Zefanya. Ada 14 metafora yang dikategorikan sebagai metafora orientasional. Kemudian, ada 3 metafora yang diindikasikan sebagai metafora ontologis. Selain itu pada penelitian ini terdapat 17 jenis skema citra ruang yang diklasifikasikan ke dalam 5 kategori yaitu 9 up-down, 3 front-back, 2 left-right, 1 near-far and 2 center-periphery
