Mural-Making Process by Vina Puspita - East Jakarta - Indonesia
This mural is part of Vina Puspita's practice-based reasearch for her PhD. It was initiated to respond to the available space/wall at RPTRA* (Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space) in East Jakarta. The idea of a mural is also a continuation of voicing the social message that has been raised in the MAP project in phases 1 and 2. It is the problem of young people and the community related to brawls (Tawuran). The mural process took three days. On the first day, we began the session with brainstorming on the themes and messages. We used free writing techniques followed by a discussion to make decision. Next steps are sketching process, composing the layout and creating digital simulation. On the second and third days we painted on the wall and did finishing at last.</p
AUTODOCK VINA AS A TRAINING MODE OF THE FUTURE TEACHERS OF NATURAL SCIENCES
The article deals with the problems of implementation of the computer technology in training of future teachers of chemistry. The author proves the importance of the computer simulation method for the research of chemical processes and phenomena and considers the peculiarities of the molecular docking process. AutoDock Vina is viewed as the way to activate the cognitive activity of the students and to encourage their research. Theoretical concepts and practical recommendations on the formation of the students' skills while working with the software AutoDock Vina, designed for molecular docking, are defined
AutoDock VinaXB: implementation of XBSF, new empirical halogen bond scoring function, into AutoDock Vina
© 2016 The Author(s). Background: Halogen bonding has recently come to play as a target for lead optimization in rational drug design. However, most docking program don\u27t account for halogen bonding in their scoring functions and are not able to utilize this new approach. In this study a new and improved halogen bonding scoring function (XBSF) is presented along with its implementation in the AutoDock Vina molecular docking software. This new improved program is termed as AutoDock VinaXB, where XB stands for the halogen bonding parameters that were added. Results: XBSF scoring function is derived based on the X···A distance and C-X···A angle of interacting atoms. The distance term was further corrected to account for the polar flattening effect of halogens. A total of 106 protein-halogenated ligand complexes were tested and compared in terms of binding affinity and docking poses using Vina and VinaXB. VinaXB performed superior to Vina in the majority of instances. VinaXB was closer to native pose both above and below 2 Å deviation categories almost twice as frequently as Vina. Conclusions: Implementation of XBSF into AutoDock Vina has been shown to improve the accuracy of the docking result with regards to halogenated ligands. AutoDock VinaXB addresses the issues of halogen bonds that were previously being scored unfavorably due to repulsion factors, thus effectively lowering the output RMSD values
Design Of Wedding Jewelry Stacking Mechanism With Vina Musical Instrument Theme On Kendalisodo Temple Relief
Kendalisada temple dates from the middle of the 15th century which is the last stage of the Majapahit period. The author would like to re-introduce the existence of Kendalisada Temple to modern society today by designing a wedding jewelry set product inspired by the reliefs of Kendalisada Temple which tells the story of Prince Panji and Dewi Sekartaji who are sitting intimately, then the prince plays the Vina musical instrument to entertain his lover, where for the surroundings there are natural landscapes such as mountains and water. In the design process, the author used a qualitative method in the form of a literature study which includes searching for data through books, electronic sources, and related journals about Kendalisada Temple, Kendalisada Temple reliefs, Vina musical in-struments, types of jewelry, jewelry materials, wedding jewelry, jewelry making techniques, markets. research, and trend forecasting. The author also used the cultural design method to transfer the culture in the relief into a prod-uct. The design process used 4 stages, namely investigation, interaction, script development, and product design. After that, the author made some ornaments and then developed more. The author uses the stacking method in jewelry making where the use of jewelry in the form of sets is stacked with a total of 2-3 pcs for each type of jewelr
