Attic ventilation and thermal performance of metal deck roof / Mohd Firdaus Mohd Yusof
Building material generally refers to those building components that enclose conditioned spaces and through which thermal energy is transferred to or from the outdoor environment. Moreover, the ventilation of residential attics with outdoor air is the accepted method for controlling excessive temperatures during summer and moisture accumulation during winter. Most building codes specify some form of ventilation requirement for attics either as a required air flow rate or a certain vent area that must be incorporated into the exterior envelope of the attic. Building envelope is the main and most important factor for energy efficiency in buildings, which is everything that separates the interior of the building from the outdoor environment like the doors, windows, walls, foundations, and roofing structures. All the components of the building envelope need to work together to keep a building warm in the cool weather, cool in the hot weather and also comfortable. Improvement can be made on the heat transfer characteristics through roofing materials if experiments are conducted on its thermal characteristics. In this study, the research was done on heat flow characteristics through roofing materials of low slope roofs for the cases in unventilated and ventilated attic, which are commonly found in many nonresidential buildings in Klang Valley, Selangor. The comparison between with and without ventilation were then investigated by measuring the thermal characteristics, particularly the heat flow through roof structure. Heat flux through the roofing materials were measured using huksefluks HFP01SC sensors. At the same time, temperatures of the surfaces were recorded simultaneously on the interior and exterior of the roofing materials by using thermocouples Kx. The temperature differences were used in estimating the thermal resistance of the roofs. From this study, it was found that the insulation and the attic environments do provide a significant impact on the temperature where the insulations reduced the heat transfer and the attic ventilation reduced the temperature in the roofing structure. This is a good indication that the building components or structure is good in reducing heat trapped in insulators
Analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) signal from dyslexic children using Coiflet / Muhammad Firdaus Mohd Yusof
The usage of statistic over the set of feature is one of possible method to identify differences in the brain electrophysiological processing for dyslexic children. Dyslexia is one of neurological disorder related to the brain causing learning deficiencies especially on reading although research has proved that writing problem also contribute significant challenge into this issues. This study looks into the analysis of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals during writing and resting activities for poor dyslexic, capable dyslexic and normal children using Coiflet. C3, C4, FC5, FC6, P3, P4, T7 and T8 are the eight electrodes position known as the pathway for writing and reading. The result shows that there are significant differences in the minimum and maximum of the extracted features for dyslexic category using Coiflet
Hydraulic Powered Fan (HPF) / Syarmizar Mohd Safki and Mohd Firdaus Yusof
Combining and outlining all these requirements as formalized by the department of Mechanical Engineering, UiTM, here we produced our final project that we called as “Hydraulic Powered Fan” or (HPF).
The main purpose of Hydraulic Powered Fan (HPF) is used to reduce electricity consumption at home. Why we state that our project can reduce electricity consumption? It is because this project did not use current as it source, but it solely use hydraulic to function. It is based on turbine concept that used water as a main source to generate power. We used a tank filled with water, which is then used to rotate the turbine. The rotation of the turbine will move the main shaft; the main shaft will move the water pump shaft (to function the water pump). The water pump is used to pump water back into the tank (recycle the water), at the same time the main shaft will also move the fan.
From this project, we hope that it will fulfill all the desired requirements for our final project.
This report will take us to understand more about the fluid concepts; we hope that this project will give help students who are interested to further study about this project
Factors influencing smartphone addiction among students at Universiti Teknologi Mara, Cawangan Melaka, Kampus Bandaraya Melaka / Mohd Faiz Firdaus Mohd Yusof
This study is conducted at UiTM Kampus Bandaraya Melaka. The purpose of this project paper is to identify factors influencing smartphone addiction among students at Universiti Teknologi Mara Cawangan Melaka Kampus Bandaraya Melaka. The objective of this study to identify relationship between ease of access and smartphone addiction, relationship between perceived value and smartphone addiction and relationship between social norms and smartphone addiction. This study consist one dependent variable which is Smartphone Addiction and three independent variables which are Ease of Access, Perceived Value and Social Norms. The sample I need for this study is 150 respondents from student in Universiti Teknologi Mara Kampus Bandaraya Melaka. After that, the data collected be running use Statistical Packaging for Social Studies (SPSS). Non probability sampling is the sampling researcher use to conduct this study by focussing in Convenience sampling type. The formation of DSW Solutions Sdn Bhd came into being because the joint venture
project that Haji Yusof and Mat Zahari had tried to work on failed to materialise. In
1993, while he was still attached to ICL Computers, Mat Zahari was approached by his
ex-Commercial Director in Siemens Nixdorf, Mr. Freddy De Becker, to assist Mr. De
Becker in finding a local partner to enable the formation of a local set-up for Siemens to
penetrate the government sector market.Mat Zabari resorted to Haji Yusof for the search of the local partner. It took them more
than two years to initiate an arrangement. Finally, after so many discussions, late nights, a
few interested companies and various ways to initiate the start-up, a local company
known as Mekar Idaman Sdn Bhd led by Dr. Azman Firdaus Shafii, verbally agreed to be
the local investor with a 60% shareholding in the joint venture company. Siemens AG of
Germany, the parent company of Siemens Nixdorf (M) Sdn Bhd would hold 30% while
the balance would be reserved to Haji Yusof, Mat Zahari and the pioneer staffs of the
joint venture company. Mr. De Becker had manoeuvred for Siemens AG to be involved
because he did not see eye to eye on so many things with the Managing Director of
Siemen Nixdorf (M) Sdn Bhd, Mr. Rolf Magruer, whom he perceived not to be a straight
fellow. Siemens practised the matrix system. So, Mr. Rolf Magruer and Mr De Becker
report to different bosses in Siemens AG
Developing interactive multimedia learning coursware on panda and giraffe using addie methodology / Wan Muhammad Firdaus Wan Mhd Yusof
Interactive multimedia courseware can improve learning for kids and they will more motivate to learn themselves because interactivity and fun content is available. Based on the observation during in the zoo, the kids that range age from 7 to 12 years old are very attract to giraffe rather than other popular animals such as tiger, elephant, even snakes. It is because the kids are not really brave to watch that animals nearly. The purpose of develop this proposed multimedia courseware is to help the kids self-learning on animals which are panda and giraffe. The main target user of this proposed multimedia courseware is for kids between eight to ten years old kids. The problem of current learning environment in school toward student in primary school is not really grab the kids’ attention. By using the method ADDIE made this project completed in systematic and structured way. Besides, applying multimedia principles framework on the project can improve the functionality of the courseware. Development using flash software is suitable for the kids to play and learn in effectiveness and interesting way. This project still can be improved in a few aspects to make it better for the future enhancement for example the audio can be more suitable and narrator voice also can be improved to suit the project. Besides, can improve on the video and graphics. This project may help kids to improve their leaning process because this project contains interactivity between the courseware and the kids which study as stated that kids nowadays are more attract to technology

This study examined the event quality towards 70.3 Time Ironman Putrajaya 2015. A convenient sampling method was used to analyse overall level of quality on Time Ironman 70.3 Putrajaya 2015 event. Data were collected via administered questionnaires. The questionnaires consist of three sections: quality of event employees, event product quality and quality of event environment. Result indicated that, all the event quality stated influenced attendees satisfaction and perception. The finding revealed that quality of event employees was the most important in the event based on highest score of the mean. The focus of this study was only on three event quality that included quality of event employees, event product quality and quality of event environment. However, the result obtained has revealed that some factors or criteria should be improvised for future organizing. The future of study should discover more details for better understandings on event quality that vital for event
