    Framework of trusted wireless sensor node platform for wireless sensor network / Yusnani Mohd Yussoff

    Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have shown great promise as the emerging technology for data gathering from unattended or hostile environment. The advancement in micro-electro-mechanical sensor technology, wireless communication technology and the recent scavenging energy have gradually expanding the acceptance of WSN related applications. The design of sensors that are small, low cost, low power and combined with its unattended nature has made it more viable and indirectly promotes its popularity for future solutions in various real-life challenges. One of the most challenging yet important security issues in Wireless Sensor Network is in establishing trusted and secured communication between sensor node and base station. While the term trusted has been widely used referring to valid nodes in the group, this thesis refer the term trusted based on Trusted Computing Group (TCG) specifications. With limitations in the present solutions such as late discovery of invalid nodes such in Trust Management System and high energy consumption with external security chip due to the used of Trusted Platform Module chip; a Framework of a Trusted Wireless Sensor Node is presented. The framework incorporates ideas from TCG and Identity-based cryptosystem by Boneh Franklin to ensure trusted and secured communications between sender and receiver which might be between sensor node and base station or between sensor nodes in the network. The research aim to come out with a credential based trusted sensor network to verify the authenticity of sensor nodes in the network. Finally the proposed trusted framework is evaluated for the potential application in resource constraint devices by quantifying their power consumption on selected major processes. The result proved the proposed scheme can establish trust in WSN with less computation and communication and most importantly eliminating the need for neighbouring evaluation such in Trust Management System or relying on external security chip. Finally, proposed works benefit in eliminating clone or duplicated nodes in the WSN thus reduced the number of false and unwanted messages in the Wireless Sensor Network

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    ABSTRAK MENGEMBANGKAN KREATIVITAS ANAKMELALUI PERMAINAN MELIPAT KERTAS ORIGAMIDI TAMAN KANAK-KANAK MEKAR JAYA KEC. BENGKUNAT BELIMBING PESISIR BARAT Oleh: YUSNANI Seni melipat kertas atau origami, merupakan kegiatan yang sangat baik untuk merangsang kreativitas serta membangun daya pikir anak. Menyadari hal tersebut penulis memilih untuk mencoba mengajarkan beberapa metode melipat kertas origami kepada anak-anak usia dini di Taman Kanak-Kanak Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Bengkunat Belimbing Pesisir Barat. Kegiatan ini sengaja penulis adakan mengingat jumlah anak yang terlihat belum ada kegiatan yang merangsang perkembangan kreativitas anak yang di ajarkan di Taman Kanak-Kanak tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah melalui permainan melipat kertas origami dapat mengembangkan kreativitas anak di Taman Kanak-Kanak Mekar Jaya Kecamatan Bengkunat Belimbing Pesisir Barat. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok B2 yang berjumlah 20 anak terdiri dari 9 anak laki-laki dan 11 anak perempuan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Indikator keberhasilan yang di tetapkan yaitu jika minimal 85% dari 20 anak memiliki keberhasilan dalam permainan melipat kertas origami dengan kriteria berkembang sangat baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan melipat kertas origami anak dapat mengembangkan kreativitas anak dan meningkat setelah adanya tindakan melalui origami. Pada siklus Ipertemuan 1 presentasi kreativitas anak sebesar 5 %yang berkembang sangat baik. Pada siklus I pertemuan 2 persentasi anak sebesar 30 % yang berkembang sangat baik. Pada siklus II pertemuan I presentasi kreativitas anak sebesar 50% yang berkembang sangat baik. Pada siklus II pertemuan 2 presentasi anak sebesar 85% yang berkembang sangat baik. Perolehan presentase tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kreativitas anak kelompok B2 dengan kriteria sangat baik telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan sebesar 85%.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
