"GENDER STRUCTURE" (BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE ON GENDER EQUALITY)
The issue of Gender does not yet have a common ground. Women are always considered weak and helpless human beings. However, in some ethnic groups in Indonesia, the opposite is true. Men are deemed to have no value to women. This study aims to examine the concept of gender equality from a biblical perspective. As the primary source of teaching authority, the Bible provides a solid picture of gender equality. The research method used is exploratory qualitative. The results of the study state that the Bible consistently discusses the principle of gender equality. Because gender equality is essential, many activists voice this principle in the struggle for human rights. Therefore, viewing humans as the noblest created beings is the basis for this struggle for gender equality. Thus, opportunities and responsibilities in all aspects of life own by all humans and created by God.Permasalah mengenai Gender belum memiliki titik temu. Wanita selalu dianggap sebagai manusia yang lemah dan tidak berdaya. Namun dibeberapa suku di Indonesia, berlaku sebaliknya. Laki-laki dianggap tidak memiliki harga dibanding dengan wanita. Karena pentingnya prinsip kesetaraan gender, banyak aktivis-aktivis menyuarakan prinsip ini sebagai perjuangan Hak Asasi Manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep kesetaraan gender dari perspektif Alkitab. Sebagai sumber utama dalam otoritas mengajar, Alkitab memberikan gambaran yang solid terkait kesetaraan gender. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif eksploratif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa prinsip kesetaraan gender secara konsisten dibahas oleh Alkitab. Oleh karena itu, memandang manusia sebagai makhluk ciptaan yang paling mulia menjadi dasar untuk perjuangan kesetaraan gender ini. Dengan demikian, kesempatan dan tanggungjawab dalam seluruh aspek kehidupan dimiliki oleh semua manusia yang diciptakan oleh Tuhan
Perempuan, keheningan, dan otoritas: Emendasi konjektural atas ajaran Paulus dalam 1 Korintus 14:33b-35 dan implikasinya bagi perempuan Pentakostal
This research aims to understand the origins of the verse 1 Corinthians 14:33b-35, which is often used to limit the role of women in ecclesiastical ministry, as well as its implications for Pentecostal women. Using a qualitative approach and conjectural emendation methods, this research explores how the text has been understood and interpreted in the context of Pentecostal churches, which are often more accepting of women\u27s leadership roles than other denominations. This research shows that the interpretation and application of 1 Corinthians 14:33-35 varies, influenced by cultural and historical contexts and contemporary debates regarding conjectural emendation. The research results highlight that this verse may be a later interpolation inconsistent with Paul\u27s other teachings that support women\u27s active role in the church, including their role in prayer and prophecy. These findings indicate the importance of revisiting these texts in their social and rhetorical context to reveal a more inclusive view of the role of women in the church, potentially changing the practice and theology of contemporary Pentecostal churches to be more inclusive. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami asal usul ayat 1 Korintus 14:33b-35 yang sering digunakan untuk membatasi peranan perempuan dalam pelayanan gerejawi, serta implikasinya bagi perempuan Pentakostal. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode emendasi konjektural, penelitian ini menggali bagaimana teks tersebut telah dipahami dan ditafsirkan dalam konteks gereja Pentakostal, yang sering kali lebih menerima peran kepemimpinan perempuan dibandingkan denominasi lain. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa interpretasi dan penerapan 1 Korintus 14:33-35 bervariasi, dipengaruhi oleh konteks budaya dan sejarah serta debat kontemporer mengenai emendasi konjektural. Hasil penelitian menyoroti bahwa ayat tersebut mungkin merupakan interpolasi belakangan yang tidak konsisten dengan ajaran Paulus lainnya yang lebih mendukung peran aktif perempuan dalam gereja, termasuk peran mereka dalam berdoa dan bernubuat. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya meninjau kembali teks-teks tersebut dalam konteks sosial dan retoris mereka untuk mengungkap pandangan yang lebih inklusif tentang peran perempuan dalam gereja, yang berpotensi mengubah praktik dan teologi gereja Pentakostal kontemporer menjadi lebih inklusif
Distopia Yohanes 12: Narasi Katarsis Rasul Yohanes dalam Periode Konflik
This study begins by addressing compositional gaps in John 12 and its dynamic relationship with the Synoptic Gospels through an initial exegetical exploration. The findings are then developed into a narrative-historical analysis and interpreted using philosophical hermeneutics and catharsis theory to examine the internal condition of the Gospel’s author. The results indicate that John’s emotional state and underlying motives significantly influenced the structure and emphasis of chapter 12. His inner conflict as a disciple closely linked to both John the Baptist and Jesus underlies the unique features of this chapter when compared to the Synoptic parallels. Through cathartic contemplation, John is able to reimagine and narrate painful events with theological and pastoral depth. He recognises the necessity of recording these events faithfully so that his readers might perceive their profound meaning. Ultimately, the narrative conveys a striking message: the world is no longer a safe or ideal place for the followers of Christ. Rather, it has become a dystopian reality, underscoring the cost of discipleship and the enduring relevance of John's Gospel for a suffering community.
Diawali dengan beberapa gap dari masalah penyusunan Yohanes 12, dan terdapat dinamika dengan Injil Sinoptik maka peneliti mencoba menggalinya secara eksegesis terlebih dahulu. Fakta-fakta hasil eksegesis kemudian dielaborasi dan dibentuk menjadi satu kajian naratif-historis. Kemudian hasilnya digali dengan pendekatan hermeneutik filosofis dan teori katarsis untuk memahami kondisi internal Yohanes sebagai penulis. Hasil dari penerapan metode ini memperlihatkan motif dan kondisi emosional Yohanes berpengaruh terhadap penyusunan narasi pasal 12. Konflik batin sebagai murid yang dekat dengan dua gurunya Yohanes Pembaptis dan Yesus Kristus menjadi dasar dari kekhasan pasal ini dibanding dengan catatan yang sama di Injil Sinoptik. Yohanes harus melalui kontemplasi katarsis untuk dapat mengimajinasikan kembali kejadian-kejadian yang menyayat hatinya. Yohanes mengetahui kepentingan yang lebih besar bahwa setiap kejadian ini harus dicatat dengan baik sehingga para muridnya dapat memahami dengan baik kedalaman makna dari peristiwa-peristiwa pilu yang harus dialami Yohanes. Ia juga menyatakan bahwa dunia ini bukan lagi tempat yang ideal bagi murid Yesus. Dunia sudah berubah menjadi distopia bagi para pengikut Kristus
Kekerasan Seksual dan Relasi Kuasa: Tinjauan Plot Narasi 2 Samuel 11:1-27
Abstract. This article was written with the purpose of studying the corelation between power relation and sexual abuse in the King David and Bathsheba narrative to raise awareness of the danger posed by a power relation. By using plot analysis in the 2 Samuel 11:1-27 narrative, it can be understood that with the power he possessed, David committed an abuse of power to commit acts of sexual abuse against Bathsheba. Bathsheba, in this case who was in a position of lower power, could not refuse King David's lust. Thus, power relation should not be taken for granted, but must be understood critically.Abstrak. Artikel ini ditulis dengan tujuan untuk untuk mengkaji hubungan relasi kuasa dengan kekerasan seksual dalam narasi Raja Daud dan Batsyeba sehingga dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran akan bahaya yang ditimbulkan dari suatu relasi kuasa. Dengan menggunakan analisis plot pada narasi 2 Samuel 11:1-27, dapat dipahami bahwa dengan kekuasaan yang dimiliki, Daud melakukan tindakan penyalahgunaan kekuasaan secara sadar dan terencana untuk melakukan tindakan kekerasan seksual terhadap Batsyeba. Batsyeba, dalam hal ini yang berada di posisi kekuasaan lebih rendah, tidak dapat menolak keinginan Raja Daud tersebut. Dengan demikian, relasi kuasa semestinya tidak diterima begitu saja, namun harus dipahami secara kritis
Jangan Ada Phubbing di Antara Kita: Studi Personifikasi Perempuan dalam Amsal 8-9 bagi Pemanfaatan Gawai
Gadgets have caused some users to experience phubbing, especially millennials. If this is allowed, their self-quality and social relations will worsen. Therefore, this study aims to explain the personification of women in Proverbs 8-9 and their relationship with gadgets, so that they can use gadgets wisely. This research method is qualitative descriptive based on a literature study. The results show that gadgets and the personification of women have three positive and negative elements in common: attractiveness, desire for relationships, and impact. This means that gadgets are like a knife that can be useful for cutting food if used correctly, and also killing humans if used incorrectly. That is why all users are advised to choose the path of wisdom, not foolishness, so that phubbing can be avoided. The way is to build an intimate relationship with God and fear Him. So, this study concludes that they must utilize gadgets, not be utilized by them. In other words, they need to use gadgets when it is necessary, not to satisfy desires, waste time, or distance themselves from physical socialization
TRUSTING TWITTERSPHERE AS A GENUINE POLITICAL DEBATE? THE CASE OF INDONESIAN ELECTION HASTAGS
This research in progress explores how political discussion on Indonesian Twittersphere could provide a genuine conversation on debates related to the upcoming 2019 national election in Indonesia. Taking the case of the presidential and parliamentary election in the upcoming April 2019, the author uses social media data on Twitter to investigate whether the discussions are heavily lean into digital public sphere or more dominated by political buzzer and bots. The author examines this by creating Twitter network maps based on hashtags related to the election. Modularity tests are employed to identify the extent of online community developed during the conversations. Most of the hashtags analyzed could attract hundreds of small communities, created mini-publics, which in turn shows the degree of willingness of the Indonesian social media users to participate in this practice of digital citizenship. Qualitative observations on the selection of the most significant actors within the network and the words they posted are employed to understand if the conversations were not led by either dominant political actors or political buzzers/bots, and thus, suggest the citizens’ genuine form of political communication. Despite the limitations of studying Twitter data, the author suggests that by taking a closer attention to how political conversation in non-English/Western political environment, this study might provide valuable insights on the development of genuine utilization of (and trust on) the social media platforms for political engagement
Finding Christ in Photographs of Suffering
Photojournalists employ images in order to tell a news story, honestly and impartially while telling the story in strictly journalistic terms. Theologians, specialists in theology, reflect on faith as a personal response to God\u27s self-communication. This article is an innovative attempt to bring them together, photojournalism and theology. Indeed, both make use of verbal and non-verbal language as well as a person\u27s imagination. The author shows that both shall not exclude an urgent social concern for the common good. Here the author presents his reflection from a context of a country, the Philippines, in the middle of drug-war with its continuous increase of victims of extra-judicial killings (EJK). Can a picture or photograph lead the viewers to a deeper meaning of a tragic reality even if they weren\u27t there? Can a photograph of EJK help Christians to reflect on their faith and act on it

KONTROVERSI PERLAKUAN AKUNTANSI TERHADAP VILLA ISOLA SEBAGAI ASET BERSEJARAH
Aset bersejarah merupakan salah satu jenis aset yang pelaporannya masih banyak mengundang kontroversi. Beberapa orang berpendapat bahwa sebuah aset bersejarah tidak memiliki urgensi untuk dicatatkan pada laporan keuangan. Namun ada juga yang berpendapat bahwa sebuah aset bersejarah perlu dilaporkan pada laporan keuangan, karena menurut mereka, tidak etis ketika sebuah aset memiliki nilai sosial dan kesejarahan tinggi, tetapi tidak dapat diketahui nilai moneternya. Kontroversi ini kemudian melahirkan ide bagi penulis untuk melakukan penelitian tentang perlakuan akuntansi terhadap aset bersejarah khususnya cagar budaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sejauh mana praktik akuntansi yang diterapkan pada Villa Isola sebagai aset bersejarah, juga mengetahui implementasi PP 71 khususnya PSAP 07 pada laporan keuangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam memperoleh informasi yaitu melalui wawancara, dimana penulis telah memilih beberapa informan yang ahli di bidangnya seperti Pamong Ahli Muda Cagar Budaya, ketua jaringan komunitas Bandung Heritage Society, serta Kepala Biro Sarana dan Prasarana Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi sumber dalam melakukan pengolahan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa UPI belum sepenuhnya menerapkan PP 71 tahun 2010 terutama tentang aset bersejarah yang tercantum dalam PSAP 07. Dari segi pengakuan, UPI mengakui Villa Isola sebagai aset tetap. Penilaian yang dilakukan di UPI saat ini mengikuti ISAK 35 tentang Penyajian Laporan Keuangan Entitas Berorientasi Nonlaba. Terakhir untuk penyajian dan pengungkapan, Villa Isola termasuk ke dalam akun gedung dan bangunan, tetapi tidak secara spesifik disebutkan berapa nilai dari gedung tersebut.
Heritage assets are one type of asset whose reporting still attracts a lot of controversy. Some people argue that a heritage asset has no urgency to be recorded in the financial statements. But there are also those who argue that a heritage asset needs to be reported in the financial statements, because according to them, it is unethical when an asset has high social and historical value, but its monetary value cannot be known. This controversy then gave birth to the idea for the author to conduct research on the accounting treatment of heritage assets, especially cultural heritage. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of accounting practices applied to Villa Isola as a historical asset, as well as to determine the implementation of PP 71, especially PSAP 07 in the financial statements. The method used in obtaining information is through interviews, where the author has selected several informants who are experts in their fields such as Pamong Ahli Muda Cagar Budaya, head of the Bandung Heritage Society community network, and Head of the Bureau of Facilities and Infrastructure of the University of Education Indonesia. This research uses source triangulation in processing data. The results showed that UPI has not fully implemented PP 71 of 2010, especially regarding heritage assets listed in PSAP 07. In terms of recognition, UPI recognizes Villa Isola as a fixed asset. The valuation carried out at UPI currently follows ISAK 35 concerning Presentation of Financial Statements of Non-Profit Oriented Entities. Finally, for presentation and disclosure, Villa Isola is included in the buildings and buildings account, but it is not specifically stated how much the value of the building is
