    Kata Kunci: kanyouku, idiom, klasifikasi makna Kanyouku adalah satuan ujaran yang mempunyai makna tersendiri yang berbeda dari setiap unsur kata pembentuknya dan makna tersebut tidak dapat diartikan baik secara leksikal maupun gramatikal dari unsur pembentuknya. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti membahas tentang makna kanyouku yang menggunakan kata ki (気) dalam novel karya Ibuki Yuki, yaitu Kaze Machi No Hito, Shijukunichi No Reshipi, dan Middo Naito Basu. Tujuannya adalah mengetahui klasifikasi kanyouku beserta jenis maknanya. Metode dan teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Adapun tiga tahapan dalam metode penelitian ini adalah yang pertama tahap pengumpulan data dengan metode simak, yaitu teknik dasar dan teknik lanjutan. Teknik selanjutnya berupa teknik simak bebas libat cakap dan catat. Kedua adalah tahap analisis data dengan cara menggunakan metode padan ortografis dan teknik pilah unsur penentu atau PUP. Terakhir yaitu penyajian data secara informal. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Inoue Muneo (1992). Inoue Muneo mengklasifikasikan makna kanyouku berdasarkan jenis maknanya. Tahapan analisis dimulai dengan menganalisis kanyouku berdasarkan makna leksikal dan makna idiomatikal. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa makna kanyouku yang menggunakan kata ki (気) dalam novel karya Ibuki Yuki menunjukkan makna perasaan atau emosi, makna keadaan tubuh, watak, sikap, makna perbuatan, aksi, dan aktivitas, dan makna keadaan, tingkatan, dan nilai
