The notion of practicality in Wang Yang -ming\u27s thought

Previous studies on Wang Yang-ming\u27s philosophy have made an important contribution. Nevertheless, few scholars draw attention to Wang Yang-ming\u27s contribution to Confucian practicality or the notion of the inner connection between his practicality and Confucius\u27 and Mencius\u27 orientation of practicality in their learning. Without a close examination of his notion of practicality, the significance of Wang Yang-ming as a Confucian master will not be appreciated properly. Therefore, in this research, I examine Wang Yang-ming\u27s notion of practicality in relation to his interpretation of the learning of Confucius and Mencius. In my research, I begin with clarifying the learning of Confucius and Mencius necessitated actual action and concrete practice. I also find that such an orientation of practicality gives an explanation to the fact that Wang Yang-ming, however contrary to Chu Hsi, still is regarded as a Confucian master. It is the orientation of practicality that embraces the diversities of Confucian learning and keeps the essence of the learning of Confucius and Mencius. Through my investigation, I have pointed out that Wang Yang-ming\u27s advocating the unity of knowledge and action was his successful application of Confucian practicality, that, also, is, the learning of Confucius and Mencius. Since the realization of humanity required the fulfillment of one\u27s various responsibilities, corresponding to various social roles, Wang Yang-ming underscored that, to completely realize humanity, one could not separate oneself from family and society. In addition, his doctrine that mind and principle are identical gives a different perspective that can help us better understand the idea of fulfilling our roles in society and responsibilities to family without being confined to the rules and regulations of society which dictate our conduct. With the examination of Wang Yang-ming\u27s notion of practicality, I believe that I have clarified Wang Yang-ming\u27s success of transmitting the practicality-oriented learning of Confucius and Mencius. I am also convinced that his notion of practicality is an important reason why his learning agrees with the learning of Confucius and Mencius, and why he is recognized as a philosopher in action

Based on Wang Yang-ming's philosophy, the Yang-ming school was sue-cessfully constructed during Wang Yang-ming's lifetime. Although both challenges from the academic field and persecution from the government ensued immediately after the construction of the school, the Yang-ming school continued to develop into the most prominent intellectual school during the Ming. This article deals primarily with the historical development of the Yang-ming school and its relationship with the contemporary political powers. The school's history was divided into two major periods. First, from the construction of the school to the death of Wang Yang-ming, Wang's remarkable political and military success (in the late 1510s) in the Chiang-hsi area was viewed as a crucial point in the construction of the Yang-ming school. During this period, the school focused on its charismatic leader, Wang Yang-ming, and had its roots deepened into the Chiang-hsi, Chieh-chiang, and Nan-ching areas. Secondly, after Wang Yang-ming's death in 1528, the spread of the Yang-ming learning was maintained in the chiang-hui activities, associations of local gentry and students for pursuing the Yang-ming learning. During this period, although Wang Yang-ming's disciples possessed strong school consciousness and tried to promote their master's ideas, the style and content of the chiang-hui had no unified regulations, but leaned to meet their local members' needs. This situation, therefore, led to diversity within the Yang-ming school and the formation of an intellectual movement with broad influences of the Yang-ming learning, which dominated the late-Ming intellectual fields. As for the relationship between the Yang-ming school and the political powers, an ambivalent relationship having both submissive and critical spirits is emphasized in this article. Not only in the school's attitude toward the civil service1 examination system and the Ch'eng-Chu orthodoxy, but also in its strategies to convert political capital to cultural capital and use local political and social sources to construct the chiang-hui and academies, the important institutes of private educational activities, this ambivalent relationship between the Yang-ming school and the political powers is revealed. Although political power from the top had great influence in promoting or depressing the private educational activities, including the Yang-ming learning, it definitely could not extinguish the autonomy and free spirit of private educational activities. However, one cannot merely eulogize the autonomy of private educational activities either, since in actual practice, they possessed political ambitions and were usually involved in manipulating local political power.[[fileno]]JA01_1999_p16

Emergency response in cascading scenarios triggered by natural events

Emergency response is a procedural safety barrier of paramount importance for the mitigation of fire scenarios and the prevention of escalation. However, in Natech scenarios, emergency response may be affected by the natural event impacting the site. Indeed, when contrasting Natech accidents, emergency responders have to face both the natural event and the cascading technological scenario. Despite the criticality of the issue, limited attention was devoted to date to the analysis of emergency response in cascading sequences triggered by natural events. The present study provides a novel and technically sound methodology to assess the performance of emergency response and the required intervention time in Natech scenarios. An expert survey combined with a Bayesian Network model was used to assess the performance of the emergency response. The routing and setup phases were identified as those mostly affected by natural events. Monte Carlo simulations were used to obtain baseline data and specific probability distributions for the time required to carry out the emergency response considering the factors that may hinder the response during natural events. In Natech accidents, the time for effective mitigation resulted higher of at least a factor 2 with respect to that expected in the case of conventional accidents. The methodology developed may be used to support the improvement of the emergency management of Natech scenarios, allowing for a detailed definition of site-specific emergency response plans. Moreover, the results may be used to provide a more accurate assessment of the fire-driven escalation probability in Natech events.Safety and Security Scienc

Looking at the theory of typhoid fever, there are often cases of "asthma" in the differentiation of Yangming disease with pulse syndrome. One is that typhoid fever mistakenly enters Yangming and causes asthma, and the other is that Yangming organs are solid and the abdomen is swollen and wheezing. Yangming has a stroke, with a bitter mouth and dry throat, a slight wheezing in the abdomen, high fever and aversion to cold, and a floating and tight pulse. If it goes down, it will be difficult for the abdomen to be full and urinate. The Yangming disease has a floating and tight pulse, a dry throat and bitter mouth, and a full stomach and wheezing. Although the Yangming disease has a delayed pulse, it is not aversive to cold. For those with hot flashes, if they want to relieve it, they can attack the inside. "The Warm Disease Diagnosis:" Yangming Warm Disease has five symptoms: unstable wheezing, stagnation of phlegm and saliva, enlarged right inch, or non descending lung qi, which can be dominated by the Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction. "From this, it can be seen that Yangming Asthma is more common than lung related diseases; it can be said that in the "Su Wen Ke Lun", "coughing leads to fullness of the abdomen, which all gather in the stomach and is related to the lungs." It can be seen that the asthma of Yangming is more related to the lungs, and the meridians of the lungs and large intestine are interconnected. There are many discussions on the theory of Yang Ming\u27s asthma attacking and releasing qi, but there are few explanations for the method of "inheriting qi" in Yang Ming\u27s asthma from the surface of the lung and large intestine. Therefore, the author will analyze the method of "inheriting qi" in Yang Ming\u27s asthma from the surface of the lung and large intestine in order to provide detailed information on the treatment of Yang Ming\u27s visceral excess

This study intends to investigate the factors that affect customer satisfaction and assess how that affects customer loyalty at Yang Ming (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. Additionally, it examines how moderating effect of switching costs affect the correlation between customer loyalty and satisfaction at Yang Ming (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. In this study, multiple linear regression and descriptive research methods are both applied. In this study, primary and secondary data are also utilized. The sample population for the Yamane formula is 89 forwarders. The core data is collected via a Google form. This study shows that consumer satisfaction is positively impacted by all four categories (customer service, complaint handling, branding, and price). The most powerful influence on consumer satisfaction is price. Additionally, research shows that customer pleasure has a big, beneficial impact on loyalty. Additionally, the link between customer loyalty and customer pleasure is found to be fully moderated by switching costs. Myanmar's Yang Ming should provide rates that entice forwarders to form enduring partnerships with the shipping line. Yang Ming (Myanmar) needs to designate who is in charge of each department's complaint handling procedures. To establish enduring relationships with consumers, Yang Min (Myanmar) needs to support them with any questions they may have regarding their orders. Conclusively, Yang Min (Myanmar) should practice corporate social responsibility (CSR) by offering discounts or no fee for the transportation of medical supplies for use in pandemic or crisis situation
