THE EFFECT OF SMART VILLAGE PROJECT ON SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: CASE STUDY OF PATHEINGYI TOWNSHIP
This study examines the effect of the Smart Village Project on socio-economic development in Patheingyi Township, Myanmar, with a particular focus on the Nandar Village community. Using a structured questionnaire, data was collected from 240 respondents to assess key dimensions such as financial support, income generation, capacity building, health and social well-being, community participation, general satisfaction, challenges encountered, and understanding of rural development. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of survey responses with qualitative interpretation to understand community perceptions and developmental outcomes. The findings indicate that the Smart Village Project has had a positive impact on several socio-economic indicators. Most villagers reported improvements in access to financial and input support, skills development through capacity-building programs, and enhanced healthcare services. Notably, the project fostered stronger community engagement and raised awareness about the importance of local development initiatives. However, challenges such as limited institutional coordination, inconsistent resource distribution, and lack of clarity in project objectives were also identified as barriers to optimal impact. The study concludes that while the Smart Village Project has contributed significantly to rural development in Patheingyi Township, its long-term success depends on effective planning, continuous community engagement, and sustained governmental and organizational support. Based on these findings, the research offers
recommendations aimed at strengthening project delivery, enhancing stakeholder participation, and promoting inclusive development models
A Study on the Awareness of Consumer Protection in Digital Platforms (Case Study: Online Shopping in Hlaing township, Yangon) (Nant Myat Hsu Mon, 2025)
The rapid growth of e-commerce in Myanmar has transformed consumer
purchasing behaviors, raising the importance of legal literacy and protection in digital
transactions. This study examines the awareness of consumer protection among 267
online shoppers in Hlaing Township, Yangon. Using a descriptive design, data were
collected via a structured questionnaire addressing shopping habits, knowledge,
attitudes, and practices related to digital consumer rights. Findings reveal a moderate
to strong general awareness of consumer protection, with high recognition of
responsible agencies and fraud prevention practices, but notable gaps in
understanding specific legal rights, refund policies, and complaint procedures.
Respondents displayed positive attitudes toward accountability, transparency, and
stricter penalties for online fraud, alongside proactive practices such as checking
seller ratings and using secure payment methods. The study highlights the need for
targeted education, clearer platform policies, and strengthened legal frameworks to
enhance consumer confidence and safety in Myanmar’s expanding digital

Optimization for the Fermentation Conditions of Selected Soil Fungus SZF-08
In the study, nine different fungi were isolated from different soil samples. It was collected from three different places in Yadanabon University campus in Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region for the isolation of soil fungi during June, 2022. Isolated soil fungi were tested by using five test organisms. Nine fungal strains showed antibacterial activities against the five test organisms during the preliminary screening. Among them, soil fungus SZF-08 showed the highest antibacterial activities on Escherichia coli (23.54 mm) during the confirmatory screening. Therefore, this fungus SZF-08 was selected for further investigation such as antibacterial activities, effect of different fermentation media, effect of pH and temperature. In the present study, the maximum production of antibacterial metabolite was observed in different fermentation media with FM-2 showed distinct inhibitory zones of (22.81 mm) against Escherichia coli under pH 6 showed the best inhibitory zones of (25.39 mm) and incubation temperature 23°C showed the highest inhibitory zones of (21.82 mm). Present study finding concludes that, soil fungus SZF-08 serve as a potential source for the production of antibacterial metabolite
Geochemical Characteristics and Petrogenesis of the Marbles in the MomeikMyitson Area, Momeik Township, Northern Shan State
The research area is situated in the northern adjacent part of the Momeik Town, Momeik Township, northern Shan State. It is constituted chiefly of metamorphic (metapelite, metacarbonate and metaigneous) and associated with igneous rocks. The aim of this study is to describe the petrography and investigate the geochemical characteristics of the marble units by using XRF analysis in the research area. Petrographic investigation on the mineral assemblages of the marble units in the study area indicates that the variety of marble can be classified into four types: forsterite-graphite marble, phlogopite marble, diopside marble and white marble. Geochemical characteristics of the marbles of the research area point out that they are calcitic marbles containing dolomite minerals in varying proportions and the pre-metarmorphic limestone body may be deposited in the shallow, highly saline environment prior to the metamorphism of carbonates
Petrography and Provenance Study of the Moza Formation in Myindwin Shwebawgyun Area, Mahlaing and Wundwin Townships, Mandalay Region
The research area is situated in Mahlaing and Wundwin Townships of Meiktila District, Mandalay Region. This area lies in the Central Cenozoic Belt of Myanmar. It is low-land area and the rock units are trending in a north-south direction. It is bounded by Sagaing Fault to the east. The Moza Formation (Middle Miocene) is underlying the Khabo Formation (Middle Miocene) and the Khabo Formation also underlying the Irrawaddy Formation (Late Miocene to Pliocene). The Moza Formation is mainly composed of the alternating sequences of sandstone, shale, mudstone and clay. Petrographic studies of sandstone, the composition of detrital grains are microcrystalline quartz, feldspars, bifurcated biotite flakes and various compositions of rock fragments. On the basis of the petrofabric and mineralogical studies of sandstones of the Moza Formation is classified as Subarkose and Sublithicarenite. The overall assemblages of petrographic studies point out that the sandstones of the Moza Formation are considered to be derived from a mixed provenance comprising of sedimentary rocks, low- to high-grade metamorphic rocks and plutonic igneous source. Triangular plot of Moza Formation indicated that those sandstones are falling in the field of recycled orogeny
