This study investigates the determinants of CNG usage for public transportation in Yangon, focusing on CNG Station (006) in Dagon Myothit Township. The objectives are to examine the existing CNG distribution system and to assess the factors influencing on CNG usage by YBS buses for public transportation services in Dagon Myothit Township, Yangon. Using both primary survey data from 200 bus drivers and secondary data from official records, the study evaluates factors influencing CNG usage, including station availability, refueling time, price competitiveness, infrastructure reliability, environmental awareness, and vehicle performance. Results reveal that while CNG offers clear economic and environmental benefits, operational bottlenecks as limited station coverage, aging infrastructure, inconsistent supply, and power outages that affect service efficiency. Findings highlight the need for strategic infrastructure upgrades, improved maintenance, and supportive policy measures. This research suggests expanding and modernizing CNG infrastructure, strengthening regulation, encouraging private sector participation, and integrating CNG into a long term sustainable transport strategy for Yangon

The objectives of the study are to examine the effect of extrinsic reward on employee engagement and to analyze the effect of intrinsic motivation on employee engagement at Nisshin (Myanmar) Company Limited, Yangon. To meet the objectives of the study, the primary data are collected from 126 employees in mid-level and higher-level position within Logistics services and Quality Control Department. They are selected by a stratified sampling method. Secondary data was obtained from the relevant books, articles, website and previous research papers. Correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis are used to analyze the effects of extrinsic reward and intrinsic motivation on employee engagement. According to the result from analysis based on the extrinsic reward and intrinsic motivation, perception of employees on benefit is the maximin agreement level and promotion is the minimum agreement level. From the correlation analysis, all variables are significant positive relationships with employee engagement. From the multiple regression analysis, it is clearly found that benefit, promotion and career development opportunities have positive and significant effect on employee engagement. On the other hand, payment, empowerment and recognition do not have significant effect on employee engagement. This study suggests the Nisshin (Myanmar) Company Limited successfully implemented benefit, promotion and career development opportunities to be effective in improving the employee engagement in the workplace. No full text
This study explores the impact of social media marketing activities on the purchase intentions of Xiaomi smartphones among students in the HRD Master Program at the University of Co-operative and Management, Sagaing. The research focuses on five core dimensions of social media marketing: trendiness, word-of-mouth, promotion, advertisement, and influencer endorsement. Initially, data was collected from 285 respondents who were users of Xiaomi smartphones in the HRD Master Program using a Google survey form. Utilizing the cluster sampling method, all 285 respondents were included in the analysis to examine the effect of social media marketing activities on purchase intentions within the HRD Master Program at UCMS. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25, employing descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and multiple regression analysis. The results indicated high reliability and consistency, confirming the suitability of the dataset for this study. Findings show that promotion, advertisement, and influencer endorsement significantly influence brand awareness, which in turn has a strong positive effect on purchase intention, while trendiness and word-of-mouth were not significantly influential. Based on the findings, Xiaomi should enhance brand awareness by implementing targeted promotions, producing engaging and informative advertisements, and collaborating with credible local influencers. These strategies will effectively increase consumer recognition and strengthen the brand’s presence in competitive markets. Xiaomi should reassess the relevance and execution of trend based content and peer-driven strategies within its target market. This study contributes to Xiaomi by identifying which social media marketing activities most effectively drive brand awareness, thereby offering strategic insights to optimize marketing resource allocation and strengthen brand positioning in emerging markets

Evaluation of Penalized and Multiple Linear Regressio Models for Prediction of Rice Yield (A Case Study of Bogale Township) (Lae Lae Win, 2025)

    No full text
Rice was Myanmar’s most important staple food and a vital contributor to the national economy, particularly in the Ayeyarwady Region. This study aims to develop and compare statistical models for predicting rice yield based on key weather variables such as rainfall, maximum and minimum temperature, humidity, and wind speed using 31 years of secondary data covering period from 1994-1995 to 2024-2025. In this study, three types of weather indices such as unweighted indices, correlation coefficient-based weighted, and path-coefficient-based weighted indices were developed to capture the effects of weather conditions on rice yield. Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and penalized regression models including Ridge Regression, Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operators (LASSO), and Elastic Net (ENET) were applied. Model performance was evaluated under calibration, validation, and overall dataset using R-squared, RMSE, nRMSE, MAE, and MAPE. Among these models. ENET is the best overall performance by balancing coefficient shrinkage and variable selection. Consequently, ENET were selected to predict rice yield for 2025. By the results, the rice yield for Bogale Township was slightly decrease. The study highlights the potential of penalized regression techniques as robust and reliable tools for weather based rice yield predicting, offering valuable insights for agricultural planning and weather adaptation strategies in the Bogale Township Ayeyarwady Delta Region
