A ATMOSFERA DA TRADUÇÃO: ENTREVISTA COM NOBUHIRO FUKUSHIMA
In spite of markedly different realities, cultures and languages, the fascination of the Japanese for the Brazilian literary universe is incontestable. For decades they have been translated into the Japanese language more than 175 works and iconic names, like Guimarães Rosa (Grande Sertao Veredas, 1976), Machado (The Secret Cause, 1963), Carlos Drummond de Andrade (Flower, telephone and lady, 1977) and Carolina Maria de Jesus (Wardrobe Room, 1962). And this tradition has been maintained and renovated by the new generations, as associate professor (准 教授) of Literature at Kyoritsu Women's University (共 立 女子 大学 文 芸 学部 文 芸 学科) Nobuhiro Fukushima, writer and translator of Brazilian literature and bossa nova. As a result of his doctoral research, Fukushima is author of (Mahōtsukai no kuni in Okite: Rio de Janeiro no uta to Toki - The law of the country of magic: time and poetry of Rio of January).A despeito de realidades, culturas e idiomas marcadamente distintos, é inconteste o fascínio dos japoneses pelo universo literário brasileiro.
Tissue physical property of the harbor porpoise Phocoena phocoena for investigation of the sound emission process
The process by which sound is propagated in the head of a toothed whale is still a subject of discussion. Investigating the distribution of acoustic impedance calculated by density and Young's modulus is effective for quantitative comprehension because acoustic impedance determines the reflection coefficient of a sound wave. However, the sound propagation process of the toothed whale has been mainly examined by either anatomical techniques or the measurement of density or sound velocity. In the current study, the acoustic impedance of head tissue of harbor porpoise was measured. Results of this study should be a helpful information for further discussion about the relationship between the structure of sound-producing organ and clicks property.
