Synthesis and luminescence of Ca(9)Eu(1-x)Ln(x)(VO4)(7) (Ln=Y, La, Gd, Lu) phosphors

Ca(9)Eu(1-x)Ln(x)(VO4)(7) (Ln = Y, La, Gd, Lu) red phosphors were synthesized by high temperature solid state method, and the formation mechanism of Ca(9)Eu(1-x)Ln(x)(VO4)(7) was investigated by XRD and TG-DSC. The efficient excitation band of Ca9Eu(VO4)(7) ranges from 200 to 360 nm. Under the excitation of 284 nm, Ca9Eu(VO4)(7) shows a typical red emission centered at 616 nm, which was ascribed to (5)Do(r)F-7(2) transition of Eu3+. There exists energy transfer process from VO43- to Eu3+ ions in the Ca9Eu(VO4)(7) sample. The influence of Ln(3+) (Ln = Y, La, Gd, Lu) ions on the luminescence properties of Ca(9)Eu(1-x)Ln(x)(VO4)(7) were carefully studied. Temperature dependence luminescence of Ca9Eu(VO4)(7) has been measured to determine the thermal stability of as-prepared phosphor. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

Asian Economic Integration - Perspectives from a Chinese Scholar

Since the 1990s, regional economic integration has become an unstoppable trend throughout the world. As the most telling feature of that, regional trade agreements (RTAs) have expanded explosively in the past fifteen years (see figure 1). According to the latest WTO data, the number of RTAs of all kinds (including those in implementation or to be signed) had reached almost 300 by the end of 2005. 250 of them have been notified to WTO, among which 130 were notified after January 1995, with most signed recently. So far, 173 RTAs have been notified to WTO and taken effect. It is assessed that there are still over 70 RTAs which havent been notified to WTO but about to come into effect.Asian Economic Integration

Treatment with (90)Y- and (177)Lu-DOTATOC in patients with metastatic neuroendocrine tumors

BACKGROUND: Treatment with (90)Y- or (177)Lu-DOTATOC has recently been introduced in the palliative treatment of somatostatin receptor-expressing neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). The aim of the study was to present clinical experience with (90)Y- and (177)Lu-DOTATOC therapy in the management of NET. METHODS: To prove suitability for treatment each patient underwent scanning with (111)In-DTPAOC or (68)Ga-DOTATOC positron emission tomography/computed tomography. All patients received [(90)Y-DOTATOC] as initial treatment. In case of disease relapse the treatment was repeated. To avoid side effects of repeated [(90)Y] applications, a switch to [(177)Lu-DOTATOC] was carried out. Clinical, biochemical, and radioimaging responses were documented. RESULTS: Twenty patients with metastatic nonresectable NETs (15 pancreas NETs, 2 midgut NETs, 1 gastrinoma, 1 paraganglioma, 1 NET of unknown primary origin) were included. In 8 patients the treatment was repeated more than once (mean, 3 times; range, 2-5 times). After [(90)Y] treatment moderate toxicity was observed in 8 patients. No serious adverse events were documentable. After restaging, a partial remission was found in 5 patients, stable disease in 11 patients, and tumor progression in 4 patients. CONCLUSIONS: Peptide receptor-targeted radionuclide therapy is a promising, safe, and feasible approach in the palliative therapy of patients with NET

Modelling of the 177mLu/177Lu radionuclide generator

In order to determine the potential of 177mLu/177Lu radionuclide generator in 177Lu production it is important to establish the technical needs that can lead to a clinically acceptable 177Lu product quality. In this work, a model that includes all the processes and the parameters affecting the performance of the 177mLu/177Lu radionuclide generator has been developed. The model has been based on the use of a ligand to complex 177mLu ions, followed by the separation of the freed 177Lu ions. The dissociation kinetics of the Lu-ligand complex has been found to be the most crucial aspect governing the specific activity and 177mLu content of the produced 177Lu. The dissociation rate constants lower than 1*10-11 s-1 would be required to lead to onsite 177Lu production with specific activity close to theoretical maximum of 4.1 TBq 177Lu/mg Lu and with 177mLu content of less than 0.01%. Lastly, the calculations suggest that more than one patient dose per week can be supplied for a period of up to 7 months on starting with the 177mLu produced using 3 g Lu2O3 target with 60% 176Lu enrichment. The requirements of the starting 177mLu activity production needs to be adapted depending on the required patient doses, and the technical specifications of the involved 177mLu-177Lu separation process.RST/Applied Radiation & IsotopesChemE/Catalysis Engineerin

Magnetic properties of rare earth rhenium oxides Ln(3)ReO(7) (Ln = Y, Er-Lu) with fluorite-related structure

    No full text
Ternary rare earth rhenium oxides Ln(3)ReO(7) (Ln = Y, Er-Lu) have been prepared. Their X-ray diffraction measurements and the Rietveld analysis show that these compounds have an orthorhombic superstructure of fluorite-type with space group C222(1) (for Ln = Y, Er, Tm) or a defect-fluorite structure Fm(3)m (for Ln = Yb, Lu). The zero-field-cooling and field-cooling magnetic susceptibility for Y3ReO7 diverse when the temperature is decreased through 10 K. At the same temperature, specific heat anomaly is also observed. The results of the specific heat measurements for Tm3ReO7 and Yb3ReO7 indicate the existence of magnetic anomaly below 7 and 2.2 K, respectively. On the other hand, Er3ReO7 and Lu3ReO7 are paramagnetic down to 1.8 K. (c) 2018 The Ceramic Society of Japan. All rights reserved
