Processus de changement dans les pathologies graves de l'enfance
Josette des Ligneris, Michèle Martin, Annie Lemoigne and Marie-Paule Poggionovo, Process of change in severe childhood pathologies.
The test/retest comparison of two psychotic children treated in a day hospital has led us, by means of projective tests, to bring to light the defensive processes and problem configuration types which were predictive of potentially favorable evolutions.
Seven criteria were revealed for defensive processes, five criteria for problem configurations.
Key words : Infantile psychosis - Projective tests : Rorschach, TAT- Defensive processes - Problem configurations - Criteria of positive evolution.

Simulation of detectors for biomedical imaging
The goal of this lecture is to provide basic information on the role of computer simulations in the investigation of the properties of semiconductor radiation detectors, when evaluating the predicted response of biomedical imaging systems under development. It will be presented some examples on the simulation of the response of room-temperature radiation detectors (Si, GaAs, CdTe) for medical imaging, and their comparison with experimental data. Simulations with the EGS4 Monte Carlo code will include pencil X-ray beam irradiation of thick semiconductors substrates in the 10-100 keV diagnostic energy range, in order to extract information on the intrinsic spectroscopic and spatial resolution performance of detectors for digital radiography. The problem of the simulation of the electric field internal to biased compound semiconductor detectors will be addressed. Examples of Monte Carlo simulations for detector response characterization in nuclear medicine (PET, scintigraphy) will also be shown

Status of CMS and B-physics with CMS
The present status of CMS, one of the major experimental facilities at the future LHC is presented. After a short description of the detector and its constituents, the main physics goals and performances of the experiment (Higgs, supersymmetry, B-physics) is presented with emphasis on B-physics. Detailed examples are given on sin2 beta measurement in B-physics, using the channel B/sub d//sup 0 /, (B/sub d//sup 0/) to J/ psi K/sub S//sup 0/ and tagging strategies are reviewed. (16 refs)
