Bu çalışmada, ?Giriş- Metinlerarası İlişkiler Kuramı?, ?I. The purpose of this study, titled "Oral Culture Elements in the Works of Cengiz Dağcı - A Review according to Intertextuality Theories? is to identify the elements of oral culture and the intertextual relation methods which Dağcı uses in his works. The study consists of two separate sections. The intertextual relations theory studied in detail in the first section is one of the most important techniques in postmodernism, through which Dağcı configures his own texts building a relation to other texts. This technique allows the author to refer to any written or spoken word in the text. The author can use these texts by interpreting and changing or without any change. The reflection of postmodernism to the novel can be seen in the usage of elements of oral culture from mythology, fables, legends, epics and folk tales, and literary or nonliterary expressions from poetry, letters, articles, news, and advertisements as well as in choosing different narrating styles. This study is composed of three parts titled "Intertextual Relations Theory" as the introduction, ?the Life story of Cengiz Dağcı and his Works" as the first section and "Oral Culture Elements in the Works of Cengiz Dağcı" as the second section. The information collected under these titles is evaluated in the ?Conclusion" part and the "Appendix" part provides examples of oral culture elements.Elements of oral culture can be seen very frequently in the analyzed texts. The purpose of Dağcı is to develop national identity among Crimean Turks. Therefore this style is intentionally used in almost every novel by Dağcı

This thesis examines the anthroponyms (personal names) found in the novels and stories of Cengiz Aytmatov within the framework of literary anthroponymy. The study is based on a total of 20 works by the author, including 10 novels and 10 stories. The introduction outlines the scope, methodology, and literature used in the research, providing a theoretical background on literary anthroponymy. The first chapter presents key concepts related to naming and the linguistic analysis of proper names, focusing on onomastics, anthroponymy, and the subfield of literary anthroponymy. In the second chapter, the personal names in Aytmatov9s works are classified according to type, highlighting the functional use of nicknames, pseudonyms, and titles. The third chapter explores the names in terms of meaning and intended function, emphasizing their symbolic and cultural roles through lexical-semantic analysis. In the fourth chapter, names are examined structurally as simple, derived, or compound. The fifth and final chapter classifies the names etymologically, analyzing the distribution of names of Russian, Arabic, Persian, and other origins. Findings are supported with graphical data at the end of each chapter, and the conclusion provides a comprehensive evaluation based on the overall results

Spending "quality"' time with the web video

For consumers, watching video over the Web is the most popular way to access free and premium content on connected devices. The underlying technology -- HTTP adaptive streaming -- is straightforward; however, due to quality fluctuations, it doesn't always result in a pleasant viewer experience. This can lead to dissatisfied consumers, which then leads to revenue loss in both managed and unmanaged video services for providers. As a solution, the author discusses how the impact of quality fluctuations can be reduced if video content's natural variability is taken into consideration. Here, he outlines a number of requirements and summarizes the solution's steps. While this approach brings a new dimension to the current HTTP adaptive streaming paradigm, it also introduces a number of challenges that must be addressed for a production-grade solution. The author also details these challenges and establishes a roadmap for solutions

We computed the optical bandgaps of the CH3NH3Pb(1-x)Y(x)I3 (Y=Bi, x = 0.00, 0.125) and CH3NH3Pb(1-x)Y(x)I3 (Y=Ca, Sr, x = 0.125, 0.250) perovskite crystal structures using optical arguments such as the imaginary part of the dielectric function ε2(ω), absorption coefficient (α), the zero-crossing point of the (αhυ)2 versus (hυ). Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations and the Vienna ab-initio simulation package (VASP) are used in theoretical calculations. The optical bandgap of the stoichiometric CH3NH3PbI3 phase calculated as 1.694 eV is in agreement with both experimental and theoretical studies. The optical bandgaps of the non-stoichiometric phases are calculated as 1.358 eV, 1.493 eV, 1.537 eV, 1.503 eV, and 1.588 eV, respectively. These optical bandgaps results are reported for the first time in this study. © 2021 Elsevier B.V

Aggregate blending via robust linear programming

    No full text
Aggregate blending is a problem frequently encountered in the construction industry. In this article, it is shown that robust linear programming can be used to produce solutions protected against noisy data with the same computational complexity of the classic optimization methods for the problem. It is also shown that nonlinear cost functions can be approximated by piecewise linear functions, keeping complexity at a low level. Finally, experimental results are presented. The aim is to understand how robust linear programming solutions compare with those of other methods previously described in the literature and to evaluate the actual quality of the robust solutions
