Konversi Dan Efisiensi Protein Kasar Berbagai Formula Pakan Komplit Terhadap Total Produksi Protein Susu Kambing Peranakan Etawa
The aim of this research was to study the best complete feed that has a good convertion and efficiency level of changing crude protein of formula complete feed toward total milk protein on Peranakan Etawa goat. The research was conducted on sixteen Peranakan Etawa goat in the three until six month lactation period. Design study was completely randomized design with four treatments and four replications. Four treatment groups were Fl was 14,1238% crude protein (Conventional feed), F2 was 13,3132% crude protein (Complete Feed), F3 was 14,890% crude protein (Complete Feed), and F4 was 13,5658% crude protein (Complete Feed).The data were analyzed with Statistic Product and Service Solution (SPSS) versi 16.0. The result showed that convertion crude protein toward total milk protein, F2 was significantly different with Fl (P<0,05). E tliciency level, F2 was significantly different with FI. The best feed crude protein conversion and etliciency level to total milk protein was F2 (P<0,05)

Kajian Daun Sirih Hijau (Piper betle L) Sebagai Antibakteri
AbstractBacterial infection is one of the biggest health issues in animals and humans. Antibiotic is commonly used in bacterial infection therapy, yet antibiotic misuse can lead into bacterial antibiotic resistance. This means antibiotic is less effective in therapy of resistant bacteria. Green betel leaf has been known as traditional herbal medicine with rich essential oil and consists of phenol with several derivatives that have antibacterial activity. The results of the research that have been carried out can be reported that green betel leaf has the potential to be antibacterial. This herbal can be used as alternative therapy because it is easy to get and have low-level toxicity. In this study we try to discuss about green betel leaf (Piper betle L) as antibacterial with activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by analyzing the component of the active compound and mechanism of action.keywords: antibacterial activity; green betel leaf; Piper betle L AbstrakInfeksi bakteri menjadi masalah yang sudah sering terjadi dan berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan manusia dan hewan. Pengobatan untuk penyakit infeksi biasanya menggunakan antibiotik, namun banyak penggunaan antibiotik yang disalahgunakan sehingga dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya resistensi dan bakteri menjadi tidak sensitif terhadap pengobatan antibiotik. Daun sirih hijau merupakan salah satu obat tradisional yang memiliki kandungan minyak atsiri dan komponen utamanya terdiri fenol dengan beberapa turunannya yang berperan sebagai antibakteri. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat dinyatakan bahwa daun sirih hijau dapat berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Selain itu daun sirih hijau mudah didapat dan memiliki toksisitas rendah yang menyebabkan tanaman tradisional tersebut dijadikan sebagai alternatif dalam mengobati infeksi bakteri. Studi literatur ini membahas daun sirih hijau (Piper betle L) sebagai antibakteri terhadap bakteri Gram positif dan Gram negatif meliputi komponen senyawa aktif dan mekanismenya.Kata kunci : aktivitas antibakteri; daun sirih hijau; Piper betle
Kajian Pustaka: Komparasi Metode Deteksi Mastitis Subklinis
Mastitis subklinis merupakan radang pada kelenjar susu yang menyerang ternak penghasil susu. Ambing ternak yang terinfeksi akan tampak normal, namun ternak akan mengalami penurunan produksi serta kualitas susu. Deteksi dini mastitis subklinis penting bagi peternak untuk mengurangi kerugian ekonomi. Berbagai macam metode deteksi untuk mendiagnosis mastitis subklinis telah tersedia. Studi komparasi ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sensitivitas, spesifisitas, kelebihan, dan kekurangan dari metode-metode deteksi mastitis subklinis yang dapat dilakukan di lapangan seperti California Mastitis Test (CMT), Surf Field Mastitis Test (SFMT), Milk Electrical Conductivity (EC), Infrared Thermography (IRT), pH Detector, White Side Test (WST), dan Somatic Cell Counted (SCC). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kajian pustaka dari literatur yang dikumpulkan sesuai dengan topik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CMT memiliki sensitivitas dan spesifisitas yang tinggi dan dapat digunakan sebagai metode alternatif dalam mendiagnosis mastitis subklinis. Waktu deteksi yang singkat, penggunaannya yang praktis, dan ketersediaan CMT di berbagai tempat dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif metode tes skrining dalam mendiagnosis mastitis subklinis
KAJIAN PUSTAKA: AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI DARI BAKTERIOSIN Lactobacillus spp. TERHADAP BAKTERI RESISTAN
Resistensi antibiotik merupakan isu yang genting dijadikan topik penelitian beberapa tahun belakangan ini, dimana salah satu penyebab terjadinya resistensi antibiotik adalah penggunaan antibiotik secara terus menerus dengan dosis yang tidak tepat. Salah satu alternatif yang memiliki peluang untuk melawan bakteri resisten adalah dengan menggunakan bakteriosin. Bakteriosin merupakan senyawa protein yang secara biologis aktif, memiliki berat molekul kecil dan memiliki sifat antibakteri yang umumnya bersifat bakterisidal. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kajian pustaka dari literatur yang sesuai dengan topik penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bakteriosin banyak dihasilkan oleh bakteri asam laktat, salah satunya dari genus Lactobacillus, seperti L. paracasei, L. plantarum, L. coryniformis, dan L. crustorum, yang memiliki karakteristik menguntungkan seperti stabil terhadap pH dan suhu dan mampu bekerja pada spektrum luas dengan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Gram-positif dan Gram-negatif yang resistan terhadap antibiotik, dan pada umumnya memiliki mekanisme antibakteri melalui pembentukan pori-pori yang akan mempengaruhi permeabilitas membran sel dan pada akhirnya menyebabkan kematian se
Pancreatitis-induced prediabetes and hepatic lipidosis in a mixed breed cat
Pankreatitis dapat menyebabkan penurunan produksi insulin dan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah. Kadar insulin yang berkurang dapat menyebabkan lipolisis berlebihan, yang menyebabkan lipidosis hati. Laporan ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bagaimana pankreatitis dapat menyebabkan pradiabetes dan lipidosis hati, memberikan wawasan tentang pemilihan terapi yang tepat dan kausal. Laporan kasus ini membahas seekor kucing ras campuran jantan berusia 5 tahun dengan berat 3,9 kg yang datang dengan anoreksia dan hipersalivasi. Reduced insulin levels can cause excessive lipolysis, leading to hepatic lipidosis. This report aimed to illustrate how pancreatitis can result in prediabetes and hepatic lipidosis, providing insight into selecting appropriate and causal therapies. This case report discusses a 5-year-old male mixed-breed cat weighing 3.9 kg presented with anorexia and hypersalivation. Despite a routine physical examination, blood tests revealed decreased creatinine and Ca2+ levels and elevated blood glucose, SGPT, cholesterol, and amylase levels. These findings suggested a diagnosis of pancreatitis accompanied by prediabetes and hepatic lipidosis. The treatment administered included intravenous Ringer’s Lactate, subcutaneous Ornipural® injection, oral cephalexin (Rilexine®) and Samylin®, and dietary management with specialized renal wet food
Diagnosis and treatment of Malassezia dermatitis in a Persian cat
Kehadiran jamur Malassezia pada kulit, baik dalam jumlah normal maupun berlebih, dapat mengaktifkan sistem kekebalan kulit pada kucing. Makalah ini melaporkan kasus seekor kucing Persia berusia tujuh tahun bernama Imo, yang mengalami nyeri mata dan gejala dermatitis selama pemeriksaan fisik. Pemeriksaan penunjang, termasuk penggunaan kit tes kombo dan sitologi, menghasilkan diagnosis dermatitis Malassezia. Terapi yang diberikan meliputi pembersihan dan kompres luka dengan larutan saline yang mengandung NaCl, pemberian itraconazole dan tambahan air oxyfresh secara oral, injeksi marbofloxacin secara subkutan, dan aplikasi vaseline secara topikal. Pasien menunjukkan perbaikan yang signifikan dalam penyembuhan luka dalam waktu 24 hari setelah perawatan.The presence of Malassezia fungus on the skin, in both normal and excessive amounts, can activate the skin\u27s immune system in cats. Dietary supplementation of microbiota inoculum and single clove garlic extract on growth performance, egg quality, reproductive organ, and hematological trait in laying quail
Background:
Several alternative feed additives to replace AGP to maintain good quail performance include the use of probiotics and herbal extracts.
Aim:
In this study, the researchers want to find out the best dosage of microbiota inoculum as probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, and Lactobacillus plantarum), single garlic extract (Allium Sativum L), and combination groups to improve laying quail egg production, haematology profile (Erythrocytes, Haemoglobin, Haematocrit, Leukocytes, and Platelets), and reproductive organs in terms of length and weight and have better egg quality on the internal (haugh units, yolk score, albumin index, yolk index) and external (shell thickness, egg weight) while laying phase of laying quail.
Methods:
A total of 100 4-week-old laying quails of uniform body weight were randomly distributed into five treatments with four replicates each and five quails in each replicate. There were 5 treatment groups: T0 quails were given basal feed; T1 quails were given basal feed and drinking water added with probiotics at a dose of 4 ml/L; T2 quails were given feed added with a single garlic extract at a dose of 2 ml/g and ordinary drinking water; T3 quails were given feed with a single garlic extract at a dose of 2 ml/g and drinking water supplemented with probiotics at a dose of 4 ml/L; and T4 quails were given a single garlic extract at a dose of 1 ml/g and drinking water supplemented with probiotics at a dose of 2 ml/L. The study investigated the effects of microbiota inoculum, including probiotics, garlic extract, and a control group, on reproductive organ morphologies in chickens. Results showed significant improvements in weight vagina, uterus, oviduct, ovarium, weight cloaca, growth performance, body weight, egg production, internal egg quality, yolk color score, yolk index, albumin index, external egg quality, haugh unit, egg height, shape index, eggcell weight, and eggcell thickness.
Results:
The number of erythrocytes was significantly higher in the chickens treated with the microbiota inoculum compared to the control group. Haemoglobin levels were not significant in all treatments, but haematocrit levels were significant in the chickens treated with the microbiota inoculum. Leukocytes were also significantly higher in the chickens treated with the microbiota inoculum compared to the control group.
Conclusion:
The use of a combination of microbiota inoculum in drinking water and garlic extract in feed has been proven to be effective in reducing feed consumption, maintaining hematology, increasing reproductive organs, and boosting the number of laying quail productions, thereby reducing Feed Conversion Ratio. Seekor kucing persian berusia 4 bulan dibawa ke Klinik Zoom Veterinary karena mengalami kejang setelah penggunaan insektisida dengan kandungan triklorfon. Setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan fisik, didapati bahwa kucing tersebut mengalami kejang, hipersalivasi, dan sianosis pada gusi serta telinga. Dilakukan pemeriksaan hematologi dan biokimia darah. Hasil hematologi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan sel darah putih, sedangkan hasil biokimia darah menunjukkan adanya peningkatan glukosa darah, SGPT, kalsium, dan amylase serta penurunana creatinine. Penanganan pertama yang dilakukan berupa pemberian atropine sulfate, ornipural, dan infus cairan Ringer lactate. Setelahnya kucing mengalami perbaikan kondisi, namun kucing mengalami kejang kembali. Kucing dirawat inap di Klinik Zoom dan mendapatkan terapi berupa diazepam, cefotaxime, infus cairan Ringer lactate, furosemide, ornipural, dan Novifit®. Pada hari ke-2 rawat inap, kucing mengalami kematian.A 4-month-old Persian cat was brought to the Zoom Veterinary Clinic because it had seizures after using insecticide containing trichlorfon. After a physical examination, it was found that the cat had seizures, hypersalivation, and cyanosis of the gums and ears. Hematology and blood biochemistry tests were performed. The hematology results showed an increase in white blood cells, while the blood biochemistry results showed an increase in blood glucose, SGPT, calcium, and amylase and a decrease in creatinine. The first treatment was given atropine sulfate, ornipural, and Ringer lactate infusion. After that, the cat\u27s condition improved, but the cat had seizures again. The cat was hospitalized at the Zoom Clinic and received therapy in the form of diazepam, cefotaxime, Ringer lactate infusion, furosemide, ornipural, and Novifit®.
