This study aims to identify credit accessibility and farm performance and to analyze the effect of credit accessibility and farm performance at Natmauk Township. In this study, 104 household (20%) selected from 521 households in Natmauk Township. The quantitative research method is used in this study. This study used descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression methods to find the results. According to the descriptive analysis, credit access overall mean value is higher than other variables as credit term and farm experience. In multiple regression analysis credit access, credit term and farm experience statistically effect on farm performance. Among of them, credit access is mostly effect farm performance. Therefore, credit access has the most substantial effect on farm performance financial institutions should continue to focus on making loans accessible to farmers. To enhance agricultural performance, farmers need get enough and timely agricultural credit via several loan kinds. The research indicated that the impact of loan coverage percentage and loan length is most significant on crop output per acre and yearly family farm income. Consequently, agricultural loans must be allocated to farmers adequately and punctually

Does the spatial arrangement of urban landscape matter? Examples of urban warming and cooling in Phoenix and Las Vegas

abstract: This study examines the impact of spatial landscape configuration (e.g., clustered, dispersed) on land-surface temperatures (LST) over Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. We classified detailed land-cover types via object-based image analysis (OBIA) using Geoeye-1 at 3-m resolution (Las Vegas) and QuickBird at 2.4-m resolution (Phoenix). Spatial autocorrelation (local Moran’s I ) was then used to test for spatial dependence and to determine how clustered or dispersed points were arranged. Next, we used Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) data acquired over Phoenix (daytime on 10 June and nighttime on 17 October 2011) and Las Vegas (daytime on 6 July and nighttime on 27 August 2005) to examine day- and nighttime LST with regard to the spatial arrangement of anthropogenic and vegetation features. Local Moran’s I values of each land-cover type were spatially correlated to surface temperature. The spatial configuration of grass and trees shows strong negative correlations with LST, implying that clustered vegetation lowers surface temperatures more effectively. In contrast, clustered spatial arrangements of anthropogenic land-cover types, especially impervious surfaces and open soil, elevate LST. These findings suggest that city planners and managers should, where possible, incorporate clustered grass and trees to disperse unmanaged soil and paved surfaces, and fill open unmanaged soil with vegetation. Our findings are in line with national efforts to augment and strengthen green infrastructure, complete streets, parking management, and transit-oriented development practices, and reduce sprawling, unwalkable housing development.Corresponding Author: Soe Win Myint Arizona State University [email protected]

This study examined the graduates’ transition to employment of graduates attended at three universities of economics during Academic Years from 2010-2011 to 2015-2016. It focused to identify types of career orientation and employability skills perceived by them and to analyze how their career orientation types can affect their employability skills after their graduation. The study used following statistical tools: Frequency and Descriptive Analysis, Tests of Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Leven, Independent Samples, Welsh, and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The study found that hesitation type of career orientation of graduates had highly employability skills constructed attitudes and valued their social network, friendship, general knowledge and experience through taking part in social network, sports, and art activities. Another finding was that if graduates had the higher perception of hesitation career orientation type in them, their personal and core skills of employability would be relatively higher

Land-Use Mapping in a Mixed Urban-Agricultural Arid Landscape Using Object-Based Image Analysis: A Case Study from Maricopa, Arizona

Land-use mapping is critical for global change research. In Central Arizona, U.S.A., the spatial distribution of land use is important for sustainable land management decisions. The objective of this study was to create a land-use map that serves as a model for the city of Maricopa, an expanding urban region in the Sun Corridor of Arizona. We use object-based image analysis to map six land-use types from ASTER imagery, and then compare this with two per-pixel classifications. Our results show that a single segmentation, combined with intermediary classifications and merging, morphing, and growing image-objects, can lead to an accurate land-use map that is capable of utilizing both spatial and spectral information. We also employ a moving-window diversity assessment to help with analysis and improve post-classification modifications

Exploring determinants influencing a service-oriented enterprise strategy: An executive management view

    No full text
Due to the convergence of rapid business developments and digitization challenges firms need to become more agile. A service-oriented enterprise (SOE) strategy is an approach that decomposes an enterprise into business services that are modular, accessible, and interoperable, in which parts can be provided in-house, or outsourced to the market. The SOE concept has mainly been approached from a technological view and little is known about what type of strategic SOE determinants are relevant. A firm’s strategy to implement an SOE requires top management support. Therefore, insights at executive level are a prerequisite to identify strategic business directions. We conducted a literature review and a qualitative case study amongst eleven firms at executive level in various industries. Business services, business processes, and enabling technology were found in the literature as key determinants influencing a firm’s SOE strategy. Subsequently, the interviews at executive level identified that organizational readiness, knowledge and skills, and governance also affect the SOE strategy of firms. We suggest that a holistic view is required to study the complexity of an SOE. By using an executive view we contribute to IS and business literature as strategic SOE determinants become more explicit.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Information and Communication Technolog
