ABSTRACT Changing the physical properties of mud one reason is the presence of materials that are not desirable into the mud during the drilling operation, a contamination that often occurs contamination of NaCl as a result of salt contamination high enough into the mud systems that change the properties and rheology the sludge. Some of the additive in the form of chemicals (both produced specifically for the purpose of drilling mud and common chemicals) and minerals are needed to address the problem of contaminated sludge formation NaCl or the formation of high salinity, One way to overcome the contamination situation by adding barite and cmc additive industry, to determine the effect of the additive on rheology properties of drilling mud contaminated we conducted this study. The additive used in this study is barite and industrial cmc concentration of each composition each - each 1-5 grams. Rheology test conducted is a test of plastic viscosity, yield point, gel strength, filtrate volume. Loss filtration testing done by using a Low Pressure Low Temperature (LPLT). Rheology testing such as plastic viscosity, yield point and gel strength using a Fann VG Meter. The results showed that the optimum point of mud rheology after the addition of additives are the test results LS + NaCl + CMC 1-5 grams of the CMC concentration of 4 grams with a value of 10 cp Plastic viscosity, yield point 9 lb / 100ft2, and gel strength of 0.5 lb / 100ft2 with filtrasion lost an average of 9.4 ml per 10-60 minute so that indirect use of additive Barite and CMC can make improvements in the conditions of sludge contaminated NaCl

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    Get PDF
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Background problems of this research is the low of science learning achievement 5th students 2 Tenggeles Elementary School. The low students learning achievement was shown from the science Middle Semester Examination 5th students of the school is still below the value KKM of specified. From18 students, there were 10 students (55,6%) are completed, and 8 students (44,4%) have not been completed with an average value of 72,3 class. Where as for KKM of specied is classical completeness reaches 75% with an average value of ≤ 75% grade. From the observation, the low of learning achievement lack. In the teachers learning still ude a learning model that still conventional. Statement of the problem in this research is wheter improvement in the students activity, improvement of teachers skill in managing learning, and was the use of experimental method can improve the learning achievement of science at 5th grade in the 2 Tenggeles elementary school The learning achievement of science which is reached by the students that can change cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric ability. Experimental method is the way how to serve subject where the students do experment where the students prove the theory that they learn by themselves. Step the experimental method are (a) experiment (b) observation (c) first hypothesis (d) Verification (e) concept application (f) evaluation. Action hypothesis of the research is the use experimental method can improve thelearning achievement of science at 5th in the 2 Tenggeles elementary school. This research is a classroom action research which is implemented in two cycles. Each cycle through the four stages, there are planning, action, observation and reflection. Technical submitted data are interviews, tests, observations and documentation.Collect the data are data student activities learning includes affective and psychomotor aspect, managing learning by teachers and the cognitive learning achievement. The data are analyzed by technical analyzing with qualitatitive and quantitative. The data are analyzed by qualitative are data on non test of student activity learning observation and learning managing learning by teacher. Data were analyzed quantitative is result of student learning. The results of these observations indicate that experimental method can improve learning achievement of science of simple machine material at 5thin 2 Tenggeles Elementary School. This can be evidenced an improvement study Learning Achievement students activity learning includes affective and psycomotor aspect from cycle I to cycle II. The average of students activity learning at cycle I reaches 80,2% (good) increased to 88,125% (excellent) at cycle II. For managing learning by teacher reaches 80,5% (good) incrased to 81,5% (good). While the average value of result of student learning pre-cycle of phases cyclereaches 72,3 with classical completeness reaches 10 students (55,6%). In cycle I the average value of the class reaches 73,9 with theclassical completeness reaches 13 students (72,2%). In cycle II the average valuae of the class increased to 76,11 with the classical completeness reaches 16 students (88,88%). The conclusions is experimental method can improve the learning achievement of science of simple machine at 5th in 2 Tenggeles Elementary School. Suggestions in this research is expected that other researcher can develop learning using experimental method even more effective by taking into account the characteristics of syntax learning and attention to the subject or type of material being taught

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
