No full textThis is the fifth of six volumes in a series that I found in Greek Video's catalogue. The first two volumes are under 1978/97, while the third and fourth are under 1986/96. Three stories: The Monkey and the Fox, BW, and The Lobster and the Fox. Nikos Neiros illustrates the first two stories and Michales Benetoulias the last. The animals' feats in competing for kingship in the first fable offer perhaps the best illustrations in this series. Many wolves attack the flock in the second fable. This volume returns to the format of the first two, with a small picture and a promythium on the title-page of each story. The monkey king, the fox, and other animals are pictured by Benetoulias on the cover. No full textProfessor Stassinakis, Presiden! of the Société Internationale des Amis de Nikos Kazantzakis presents a summary of diverse aspects of the Greek writer's personality and work. Stassinakis' study has three sections: a) Introduction and analisys of Kazantzakis' thought b) His active presence in society e) The man of the approach between the peoples and the synthesis. -Befare the exposition of the three themes, the author numbers the writer' s work, which is only partially known in our language. In the summarizing of Kazantzakis thought, the author highlights his search for freedom, his veneration for Nature and the primacy of the spirit in his work.
Besides highlighting the Cretan root of his personality and creation, the author studies the effort for the approach between the peoples, by
means of his voyages, his translations, his writings and his different activities.

No full textUsing two key concepts in existentialist philosophy, "situation" and "limit situation", this article establishes a relation of solidarity between the thought of Nikos Kazantzakis and Karl Jaspers. The dramatic work Comedy...tragedy in one act is analyzed from this existential concept, also establishing some considerations about Jean Paul Sartre's thought on a "theatre of situations". Kazantzakis' work is analyzed taking into consideration elements proper to drama seen from the point of view of the central motif which runs through it, salvation and the pursuit of transcendence. Lastly, the projections of this motif in the whole work of the author are touched upon, as well as the lucidity with which he anticipat es other authors and European tendencies of midtwentieth century.El siguiente artículo establece una relación solidaria entre el pensamiento de Nikos Kazantzakis y Karl Jaspers, a partir de dos conceptos claves para la filosofía existencialista: el de "situación" y "situación límite". Es a partir de esta concepción existencial que se analiza la pieza dramática Comedia...tragedia en un acto, estableciendo también algunas consideraciones con el pensamiento de Jean Paul Sartre en torno a un "Teatro de situaciones". No full textThis paper compares the concepts of State and Political Strategy in the texts of Nikos Poulantzas, particularly in State, Power, Socialism –his latest book, in 1978–, and the Works of the so-called Open Marxism, taking mostly John Holloway and Werner Bonefeld’s texts. The hipothesys argues that Poulantzas develpoments on the concept of State were eihter neglected or rejected without a deep analysis by Open Marxism. Also, the paper argues that the developments of Poulantzas bear more affinity with Open Marxism thatit’s usually thought by the authors of this school. It is even posible say that, in some points, is not too much what they add to Poulantzas’s work.Este trabajo compara las concepciones de Estado y estrategia política presentes en los textos de Nikos Poulantzas, en particular en Estado, poder y socialismo –su último libro, de 1978–, y las producciones del llamado marxismo abierto, tomando principalmente escritos de John Holloway y Werner Bonefeld. Las hipótesis del trabajo sostienen que los desarrollos de Poulantzas respecto del Estado fueron o bien desatendidas por el marxismo abierto, o bien impugnados sin analizarlos en profundidad. Al mismo tiempo, el trabajo sostiene que los planteos del autor griego guardan más afinidad con las posiciones del marxismo abierto del que los propios autores de esta corriente admiten. Incluso podría decirse que, en algunos puntos, no es demasiado lo que éstos agregan a lo planteado por Poulantzas

We propose to demonstrate further that the treatment to Kazantzakis and his work is not only due to the position of criticism, but rather shows a trend encouraged by the author, who finds in literature the meta-political action for personal redemption, and to work towards collective salvation in times of crisis.Este artículo pretende reflexionar sobre las razones que llevan la crítica canónica de Nikos Kazantzakis a preocuparse mucho más por desentrañar la personalidad del autor, y menos por su propia obra, a la cual se dirige, a menudo, como objeto de elucidación del proyecto estético y filosófico del autor. Nos proponemos demostrar, además, que el tratamiento sobre Kazantzakis y su trabajo no es sólo debido a la posición de la crítica, sino más bien muestra una tendencia alentada por el autor, que encuentra en la literatura la acción meta-política para su redención personal, así como para trabajar en pro de la salvación colectiva en tiempos de crisis

No full textThe document and materials that have allowed us to couple a wide epistolary geography of Nikos kazantzakis, can be divided in three main sources, different in their emotional disposition and equally different in the gestation periods.
a) Epistolés pros Galatia, (Cartas a Galatea). Letters for Galatea, published later on in 1958, by Yanis Gudelis, of Difros editions. The set of letters include some 80, with some post cards, all dated between 1920 and 1923 (the marriage of Galatea an Kazantzakis had been formalized in 1911. They had met one year before). Kazantzakis writes to his first wife from the most varied latitudes.
b) Tetrakosia grámata tu Kazantzaki ston Prevelaki, (Cuatrocientas cartas de Kazantzakis a Prevelakis). Some four hundreds letters of Kazantzakis to his friend Prevelakis. They are in fact 442 epistoles of Kazantzakis and four (443- to 446) written by his second wife, Heleni.
The friendship between both writers was a great incentive. For that reason, their correspondence includes diverse periods when Kazantzakis was living in Greece and alroad .
c) Le Dissident Biographie de Nikos Kazantzaki, (El Disidente Biografía de Nikos Kazantzakis). Compilation published in 1968, by Heleni. To elaborate it, their author coud have other personal documents of Kazantzakis: notes, diaries and letters. The final summary includes diverse mails, with his family, friends, and Greek and foreigners intellectuals
