No full textEin Jahr ist es her, da stürzte Olympiasiegerin Kristina Vogel beim Training auf der Radrennbahn so schwer, dass sie fast ums Leben kam. Seitdem ist die 28jährige querschnittgelähmt. Solche Unfälle sind zum Glück selten – denn bislang kann die Medizin wenig tun, wenn das Rückenmark so schwer verletzt ist. Aber es gibt neue, vielversprechende Ansätze. Am Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg wird jetzt in einer europaweiten klinischen Studie eine neue Antikörper-Therapie erforscht. Campus Reporter Nils Birschmann berichtet und sprach dabei mit Prof. Dr. med. Norbert Weidner.
