ANALYSIS OF CONNECTION TYPES AND THE USES OF DEBATES IN LEARNING
This paper explores the syntactic and semantics of discourse connectives typically produced in a competitive setting. The discourse was produced by 98 students comprising 12 secondary schools. Coherence in discourse can be achieved by different mechanisms at play: morphological, syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic. Morphologically, tense, for instance, helps to mark temporal relations, guiding the reader in the interpretation of progressions or flashbacks in time. One syntactic mechanism is sentence mood (indicative, imperative and interrogative). Mood is a structural marker of pragmatic meaning. Semantically, verb meaning can point to certain relations, cause, trigger, provoke, or effect which can all indicate a cause relation. Pragmatically, phenomenon such implicature establishes propositions that are not explicitly present in the text, but are constructed in the minds of the speakers. The aim was to unveil through analysis whether discourse uttered under this environment could be disorienting. Contrary from the expectation, the result indicated connectives worked on different levels which provided tacit and coherent interactions
BULUS AR-RАHIB AND HIS THEOLOGICAL WORKS
The present article introduces us to the life and theological works of Bulus ar-Rahib (Paul of Antioch), a Melkite bishop of Saida (Sidon) and a well-known arabophone apologist of the 12th or 13th century. The author treats questions dealing with the biography of Bulus, the authenticity of his writings as well as their general content. He also informs the reader regarding the published editions of Bulus’ treatises and their translations into western languages. This article is to be viewed as preparatory to a future one which will attempt to further research Bulus’ theological thought as well as to the Russian translation of his works, an edition of which is in preparation at the present tim
DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITION
The paper explains cohesive and organizational structure of texts. It is restricted to the description, identifications and analysis of written English composition. The essays analyzed span over narrative so as to determine the extent in which vocabulary, style and grammatical structures aid in text formation. Generally, all the essays analyzed in this paper are coherent and cohesive, but lack a variety of cohesive innovation

Educators agree that adequate time is not given to classroom contact hours so as to cover all much desired course materials effectively. As a result, classroom activities are often geared toward ensuring that students understand course concepts with little time left to promote an i
Disfluencies in debate genre: A Case of world university students debate championship
This paper focused on university debate genre. The data for the paper was derived from world university debate championship. It involved recording of the corpora which were transcribed into written form. The corpora were usually characterized by a huge number of sentences which were disfluent. The elements which made a sentence not fluent were commonly referred to as ‘disfluencies’. Repetition of words uttered previously, complete corrections or restarts of sentences were some of the common features of students’ debate genre. When a speaker deleted elements considered to be disfluent in a given speech situation, s/he was left with only the intended meaning representations which could be considered clean. While some disfluencies were intentional while others were habitual, yet, others were side effects of anxiety, inadequate vocabularies, inefficient discourse knowledge, etc. The research revealed world University students’ debate championships were characterized by three major types of disfluencies: pause/fillers, repeats, and self – corrections. Statistics indicated that long unlexicalized pause a:m has a highest and it was attributed to unfamiliarity with some debate topics, due to short notice issued to participants prior to commencement of the tournament, hence they lacked right lexicons to use
Sociolinguistic functions of politeness in school debate: A road to peace education
Abstract: Schools and even difficult terrains can be used for structured argumentation for children of different socioethnic backgrounds. Debate educated the children about values of tolerance in a more practical way by organizing a competition outside classroom. Similarly, the debate taught the participants different pedagogies to promote cultural tolerance among children which include, human rights, encouragement of the participants to express their views and feelings regarding all issues without feeling restricted. Similarly, the debate exposed the children to discussing issues with their fellow age mates unrestrictedly in an open environment which is less boredom compared to classroom. Regardless of medium of deliverance, peace education as the kind in this paper provided the learner with much skills of understanding how other people think, behave and respond to situations even if they are unfavorable. Similarly, the type exercise provided in this paper offered unique opportunities for both participants and non participants alike to live in harmony with people unconditionally
Pengaruh Kualitas Pelayanan Dan Harga Tiket Terhadap Kepuasan Penumpang Di Stasiun Lebak Bulus Grab Pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19
The phenomenon behind this research is passenger dissatisfaction with the quality of MRT services at the Lebak Bulus Grab Station. In addition, the author was also interested in examining the effect of higher ticket prices than other transportation such as KRL and Transjakarta on passenger satisfaction. This research was conducted during the Covid-19 pandemic, a period that led to a decline in the number of passengers. The research method used by the researcher was a quantitative method. Data was collected through library and additional document research, field studies/surveys, and questionnaire distribution. The research sample included 100 passengers. Data analysis was conducted using questionnaire validity test, classical assumption test, hypothesis testing and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that service quality had a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction at the Lebak Bulus Grab Station during the Covid-19 pandemic, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, a t value of 7,247 > t table 1,985, and a regression coefficient of 0.399. The coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.552 or 55.2% indicates that the Service Quality variable (X1) affected the Passenger Satisfaction variable (Y) by 55.2%, with the remaining 44.8% being the influence of other variables outside the study. Ticket prices had a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction at Lebak Bulus Grab Station during the Covid-19 pandemic, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, a t value of 5.927 > t table 1.985, and a regression coefficient of 1.069. The coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.493 or 49.3% indicates that the Ticket Price variable (X2) affected the Passenger Satisfaction variable (Y) by 49.3%, with the remaining 50.7% being the influence of other variables outside the study. Simultaneously the quality of service and ticket prices have a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction at the Lebak Bulus Grab Station during the Covid-19 pandemic, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R2) value of 0.671 or 67.1% indicates that the independent variables Service Quality (X1) and Ticket Prices (X2) affected the dependent variable Passenger Satisfaction (Y) by 67.1%, with the remaining 32.9% being the influence of other variables not included in this research model
The problems of Gymnastics
All of them agree in thinking of Gymnastics as a fundamental part of a Body Education that aims at transmitting culturally significant knowledge of the body which help as tool for knowledge, care and self-management of the body. From these points of agreement, each author develops its specific gymnastics topic: either from research and analysis of public outreach and academic texts, the discourse of teachers, students and trainees, or the critical analysis of current gymnastics field; also from concrete proposals of work in gymnastics, in this case, aerobics, functional gymnastics, Pilates Method or gymnastics in a Physical Education career projected towards school gymnasticsFil: Bulus Rossini, Viviana. Bulus, Erdi (Arel Author), İsmik, Deniz (Arel Author), Mansuroğlu, Demet Sezgin (Arel Author), Şahin, Yeşim Müge (Arel Author)Apatitic phosphates are considered within the category of bioceramics. HA and its derives are used of in the fields of medicine, orthopedics and dentistry in order to support a grow up of new bone cells. HA structures have a high biocompability and are widely in biomedical applications. On the other hand, synthesis of HA structures necessitates complex technologies (microwave sintering, hydrothermal synthesis etc.) and their production costs high. This study aims the production of nano apatitic structures with great biocompability from a natural material. Simple hotplate method was used to obtain natural, nano scale HA from eggshells. After calcination and sintering processes at different temperatures, the obtained apatitic phosphate powders have been structurally characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Morphological investigation has been conducted by FEG-SEM images. Biological investigations have been carried out for the produced nanosized bioceramics and the results reveal that these nanomaterials are promising for tissue engineering purposes
