How can one capture the lived experience of rural, illiterate women as they face the hegemonic discourses of New Nepal? How do they position themselves, and get positioned by these discourses which define the nation building of the New Nepal? I will show that the discourse of New Nepal entails a cultural politic that allows" contestation of traditional yet prevailing sources for distinction and discrimination, while at the same time introducing new ideals and new sources for distinction, as the discourse of New Nepal creates a new telos for citizens and country. Rett person til rett tid? Ein studie av spenningar og dilemma i aktiverande samtalar i NAV
Get PDFAvhandlinga er ei kvalitativ undersøking av aktiverande samtalar i NAV, med eit særskild fokus på spenningane og dilemmasituasjonane som oppstår i møtet mellom rettleiar og brukar. Desse samtalane representerte ved prosjektstart ein «uutforska» samtaletype - ein profesjonell-lekmannssamtale som vi som samfunn mangla empirisk innsikt i (Halvorsen et al., 2018, s.6).
Den nye norske arbeids- og velferdsforvaltinga er resultatet av NAV-reforma, den største forvaltingsreforma i moderne tid, der dei tidlegare etatane Trygdeetaten og Aetat vart slått saman med Sosialkontoret, for å yte betre og meir integrerte tenester. Reforma kom dessutan med ein brodd mot tidlegare og meir passiviserande ytingar og velferdslogikkar. Stønadsmottakarar og klientar skulle no bli brukarar, og aktiverast og rettast mot arbeid, og tenesteutforminga skulle, i større grad enn før, individualiserast og tilpassast. Desse møta i den nye fyrstelinja representerer eit viktig møtepunkt mellom stat og borgar, og eg ynskte å undersøke på kva måtar aktiveringspolitikken blir gjort levande på i desse møta, og kva spenningar og dilemma som den nye aktiveringslogikken medfører.
Forskingsspørsmåla mine var:
På kva måtar skapar aktiveringslogikken spenningar i brukarmøta?
Korleis reflekterer rettleiarane over spenningane i samtalane og i yrkesutøvinga si?
Korleis vert forventingane om aktive brukarar gjort levande i ei ny norsk fyrstelinje?
Datamaterialet består av 12 kasus, der kvart kasus består av både observasjonsdata og lydopptak av sjølve samtalen, samt intervju med både rettleiar og brukar. Eg enda opp med å presentere og analysere tre kasus, med både tjukke beskrivingar av kontekst og omstende, så vel som mikroanalyse av sekvensar prega av forhandlingar og spenningar. Dei tre kasusa har fått namna «Møtet med den lunka byråkraten», «Møtet med handhevaren» og «Møtet med hjelparen». Dei tre kasusa vert først analysert kvar for seg, og for sin eigen del, før eg deretter drøftar dei tre kasusa på tvers i diskusjonskapitelet, og svarar ut forskingsspørsmål og problemstilling. Eg brukar Goffman og konversasjonsanalyse for å forstå spelet i samtalane, Zacka for å forstå posisjonane som blir tilgjengelege i spelet, og Foucault for å forstå reglane og spelebana for samtalane.
«Møtet med den lunka byråkraten» er eit kasus om grensedraging – og om ein rettleiar som i samtalen må trekke grenser for innsats og arbeidsoppgåver i ei ny arbeids- og velferdsforvalting. Kasuset om hjelparen er eit kasus om rolleutfylling, og ein kvinneleg brukar som ikkje har fått innvilga ytinga enno, og som kjempar hardt for overtyde om si eiga verdigheit. I kasuset om handhevaren har brukaren nettopp blitt innvilga ytinga AAP, og dei to partane forhandlar om innhaldet i den første fasa, og om brukaren er aktiverbar eller ikkje. Det er eit kasus om fabrikkeringa av ein verdig brukar, og om handheving av den nye arbeidslinja.
Eg finn at samtalane vert prega av spenningar. Den nye aktiveringslogikken har blitt det dominante prinsippet i den nye fyrstelinja, men den er likevel ikkje eksklusiv. Aktiveringslogikken skapar spenningar med andre fundamentale velferdslogikkar, som
eksisterer side om side i den nye etaten. Dette spelar seg ut i forhandlingane, som implisitt kan tolkast og forståast som spenningar mellom ulike rollesett, handlingsorienteringar og velferdslogikkar som ein gong hadde eit privilegert rom i dei tre tidlegare etatane.
I refleksjonane over yrkesrolla finn eg rettleiarar som reflekterer over ei vanskeleg rolle, og som opplever samtalane som komplekse og uføreseielege fenomen. Rettleiarane opplever arbeidsretting og aktivering som kjernen i den nye yrkesrolla, men eg finn også at denne snevre rolletilnærminga gjer at andre sentrale, og empirisk framtredande, arbeidsoppgåver blir problematiserte. Rettleiarane ynskjer å vere ei positiv makt som skapar moglegheiter for brukarane sine, men den samansette porteføljen gjer at den idealiserte og ynskte rettleiarrolla er vanskeleg å leve ut. Rettleiarane utøver rolla si i eit vanskeleg krysspress mellom det å vere varme omsorgspersonar og handhevarar av politiske signal, eit krysspress som blir aktualisert i konkrete møte.
Den nye aktiveringslogikken laddar rettleiarblikket i det dei vurderer brukarane sine etter vilje og motivasjon. Men forventingane om aktive brukarar blir ikkje først og fremst gjort levande som eksplisitte krav, men meir som implisitte vurderingar gjort undervegs i samtalane. Det er vurderingar som brukarane kan «sense», og som kan skape ambivalens og asymmetri mellom dei to partane. Dei brukarane som strekkjer til gjer det lettare å levandegjere ei meir idealisert og ynskt rolletilnærming – ei snever rettleiarrolle som aktiverer og arbeidsrettar. Dei brukarane som ikkje strekkjer til skapar dilemma, og aktiverer spørsmålet om kva som utgjer ein passande respons. Det er ein respons som like gjerne kan vere prega av omsorg, handheving så vel som av ein lunka byråkratisk retrett. Med andre ord er aktiveringslogikken dominant – men den eksisterer side om side med andre velferdslogikkar, i ein vanskeleg og uavklart styringsmiks
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
